Chapter 1365: Chapter 1364: Boatman

Regardless of whether what Mrs. Santiago said was true or not, Yusuf Zuck did as he was told. He returned to Blue Sea and Cloud Sky, using the method of time acceleration to have a wild time with the few women he hadn’t reunited with for a long time.

The finer details of that are omitted here.

Yusuf Zuck finally returned to Eternal City before dawn the next day and quickly headed southeast of the city.

In Eternal City, there is a great river that runs through the entire city, which the citizens call the Sky River.

The Sky River is more than ten thousand meters wide, and its water originates from a volcano within the city. The volcano is dormant, with its peak eternally covered in snow, forming a Volcano Lake at the summit. The lake water cascades down forming a waterfall and then creates the Sky River.

As mentioned before, Eternal City is incredibly vast. Without something like a chariot pulled by divine beasts or heavenly steeds to travel in, you could walk for a year and still not cover the entire city, so it’s normal to have a dormant volcano and a massive river within it.

The Divine Persons of the Heavenly Realm have grown accustomed to the boundless expanse of Eternal City.

When Yusuf Zuck arrived at the Sky River pleasure boat, it was just barely dawn and the temperature difference between day and night might have contributed to the mist rising from the surface of the river. The pleasure boat was also very quiet. After all, it was too early and no one would come to enjoy the pleasures of the boat at the crack of dawn!

Yusuf Zuck was now in his true form, but he was dressed in Brocade Robes, looking splendid.

Standing alone by the riverbank of the pleasure boat, he pondered over the water for a moment, then decisively retreated and stole a set of tattered clothing from a boat moored by the river, quickly changing into it.

Having changed into the shabby clothes and deliberately messed up his hair a bit, he headed towards the largest pleasure boat moored along the riverbank.

There were three boatmen sitting on the deck of the pleasure boat, and when one of them saw him approaching, he suddenly stood up, grabbed a boat pole, and with a thrust and a leap, he landed right beside Yusuf Zuck!

"You’re wearing my clothes!" This was a middle-aged man in his forties, with the cultivation level of an Intermediate Divine Person. He clearly looked like one of those Divine Persons living at the very bottom of society.

"Ah... Oh—" Yusuf Zuck was a bit flustered. Could it be such a coincidence that he was caught right after stealing the clothes?

"Big brother, I’m sorry, very sorry, my clothes were all wet, and I had to take yours to wear. This is for your compensation, take a look, and if it’s not enough, just say the word!" Yusuf Zuck immediately took out a ring and gave it to the boatman.

The boatman, after seeing that Yusuf Zuck was not playing any tricks or anything like that, hummed twice and took the ring, examining it immediately.

However, what he saw upon examining the ring caught him off guard; his eyes widened because the ring contained at least a hundred million Spirit Stones!

A hundred million! How many Brocade Robes could one buy with that? Let alone his which were just clothes for catching fish in the river.

"You... uh... you might have taken the wrong ring, this is too much. Just one stone would be enough, only one!" People living at the bottom of society are simple. Although also Divine Persons, they were hardly different from mortals; even mortals had human rights, while they did not.

The world of Divine Persons is also cruel.

"It is for you, but I would like to ask you a favor, big brother!" Yusuf Zuck pushed the ring back to the boatman and said with a smile, "I heard that today the young Miss of the Schwartz Family is having a banquet and enjoying herself here, right?"

"Right, right, it’s our boat. The master told us to come early to clean up and check the boat and everything. But you, do you need something?" asked the boatman curiously.

"Big brother, can I get on the boat to see the world?" Yusuf Zuck spoke softly.

"That won’t do, it could get you killed. If the master finds out, both my life and yours would be in danger."

"No, it won’t. I just want to see the world. Can’t I work as a little hand, helping you row the boat or something?"

"What’s your cultivation level?" asked the boatman, eyeing him.

"Junior God King?" Yusuf Zuck stated truthfully.

"That’s even less possible, how can a Junior God King be mere labor? You still cannot board the ship!" The shipman still shook his head; he couldn’t possibly bring someone onto the ship privately.

"How about this, then." Yusuf Zuck thought for a moment and said, "I’ll give you another billion Spirit Stones, you wouldn’t have to be a shipman anymore. Let me take your place; I am simply an admirer of Miss Schwartz, here to pay her a visit, with no ill intentions, nor will I cause any trouble. Moreover, I’m not capable of causing trouble!"

"A billion Spirit Stones?" The shipman shivered, with a billion Spirit Stones, he really wouldn’t have to work as a shipman anymore. He could open a small store in the city and live out his days!

"If a billion isn’t enough, then two billion!" Yusuf Zuck raised the stakes.

"You... you... are you serious?" The shipman was tempted: "You swear you won’t cause trouble, you won’t stir up any issues?"

"I swear, if I cause trouble, may I meet a terrible fate!" Yusuf Zuck immediately raised his right fist as he spoke.

"Swear again that you’re not here to assassinate anyone!"

"I swear I am not here for an assassination!" Yusuf Zuck said helplessly.

"Alright, I’ll go have a word." The shipman, holding the ring, hopped back onto the ship, then spoke a few words with the other two shipmen and took out a Jade Simple, possibly to contact someone!

A moment later, the shipman jumped back with a joyful expression: "It’s done, it’s done!"

"I said you’re my nephew, that I had a bad stomach from eating something wrong yesterday, and today I am unable to punt the ship, so I asked my nephew to fill in for me just for today. But don’t forget the oath you made earlier, you mustn’t cause trouble, otherwise my whole family’s lives will be at stake."

"Don’t worry, brother, I won’t." Yusuf Zuck nodded, then took out two more rings and passed them over, containing two billion.

He was really going all out this time, but he indeed didn’t care about the money; it didn’t matter to him.

"By the way, brother, may I ask your honored surname?" Yusuf Zuck suddenly asked as he took over the punt pole.

"My surname is Sweeney."

"Alright, Uncle, you can go back. I’ll take over for today!" Yusuf Zuck laughed, then, with a punt pole in hand, he hopped onto the ship.

And as soon as he boarded, the other two shipmen stood up at once, appearing somewhat constrained and uneasy.

They were both from the lower class, and the Sweeney-named shipman said earlier that this was his nephew, a Junior God King, so how could the two dare to show off in front of a Junior God King?

"Greetings to you, uncles. My name is Si... Dante Sweeney, filling in for my uncle today," Yusuf Zuck blurted out some nonsense.

"Sure, sure, actually there’s no need for us to do much. Usually, the nobles don’t need anyone to punt the ship, they’re only using punters today because the nobles want to seek thrills!" One of the shipmen explained, "There are nine rapids and nine big turns at the downstream currents. Our job is just to give a little push with the pole when the ship tilts at the currents, but we don’t need you, the two of us are enough!"

"Yes," the other shipman also said. "The nobles enjoy the thrill when the rapids rush in at the currents, that’s why they employ punters, they usually don’t need it. Every noble is vastly endowed with Divine Skills, they don’t need to punt any ships."

"Okay, then I’ll just learn from you two uncles. I know the nobles enjoy this style: not to do it themselves but to drift in the rapids and observe all manners of life!"

"Right, the nobles do enjoy this style!" The two shipmen nodded repeatedly.

"Someone’s coming, it must be those nobles, right?" Just then, two elegant young masters approached from afar, each holding a White Paper Fan, clad in Brocade Robes, suave and dashing!
