Chapter 1337: Chapter 1336: Descendant of the Evil God

Within Sheppard Village, the mountains and fields are overrun with various venomous creatures, the numbers of which are vast and formidable. It is these very creatures that deter many advanced practitioners from venturing too close.

Yusuf Zuck’s reason for his soul possessing the body of a snake was due to the fact that snakes were faster than other poisonous creatures, darting between the underbrush like a flash of lightning.

After a short while, he slithered his way to a narrow, winding path. There were no steps or paving on this path—simply a trail flattened by foot traffic.

Continuing along the path without stopping, he traveled approximately a thousand miles and soon arrived at the entrance to another valley.

The previous regions he passed were dense forests. Aside from this narrow path, no other roads existed within. Poisonous creatures flanked the path on either side, so it was clearly a checkpoint. Anyone attempting to enter covertly would likely face thousands of venomous bites.

When Yusuf Zuck reached another valley entrance, he saw that this was the true Sheppard Village. Everything prior was merely the exterior entrance to the village. Or rather, even if you were to descend from the sky, you would land on the outskirts and endure countless bites from snakes, insects, and rodents.

At the second entrance stood an arched wooden gate resembling those found on grand doorways, constructed of timber, with two characters ’Sheppard Village’ etched above it.

But that was it—just two characters and a gate. As for what the valley contained, whether it housed a small village known as Sheppard Village, Yusuf Zuck had yet to find out.

As Yusuf Zuck lingered outside the gate in his snake form, suddenly a flash of light sparked at the wooden gate, swiftly followed by the old man with the basket on his back and another elderly woman stepping out. While walking, the old woman said, "Gael Berger’s arrival to the village is quite peculiar. Berger family’s orders are to escort him into the village for interrogation, and if necessary, capture and return him to Unrest City."

"Hmph, I always knew that Gael Berger was no good. His eyes are shifty! Moreover, the Berger family’s fate is running out. We should just go through the motions superficially," the basket-carrying old man snorted coldly.

"That’s right, the Berger family has been on top of our Sheppard family for tens of thousands of years, their time is ending, and the moment for our Sheppard family’s resurgence is not far!"

"All right, let’s hurry on our way. It’s still uncertain whether we’ll catch up or not!" After exchanging glances, the two of them vanished into thin air.

Yusuf Zuck couldn’t help but sneer inwardly, thinking they wanted to capture him? They were dreaming; he was right under their noses! However, what did they mean by saying the Berger family’s luck was running out? It seemed the Sheppard family was poised to rebel against the Berger family.

Just as he prepared to slither over to the gate to investigate any peculiarities, several streams of luminous light emerged from the doorway.

Quite bustling it was—these ten or so beams of light turned out to be a group of boys and girls around thirteen or fourteen years old. Their faces were youthful, untouched by the ravages of time, seemingly naive and innocent, and even their physical development seemed no more than that of thirteen or fourteen-year-olds—they were still just children.

When Yusuf Zuck probed with his telekinesis, he was utterly startled to discover that these children, merely thirteen or fourteen years old at most, had cultivation levels where the weakest among them were Advanced Divine Persons, and the strongest had already reached the level of Lower Heavenly God!

He was utterly astonished; Sheppard Village was mysterious and terrifying indeed!

"Let’s see who can catch the most, the fastest, hee hee!" a little girl giggled and dashed forward, then suddenly spotted a Big Flower Snake up ahead!

"Ah, I’m so lucky to have found a Big Flower Snake, and it’s looking right at me..." After speaking, the girl puckered her lips and started whistling, then took out a wooden whistle from her embrace and blew into it.

Yusuf Zuck didn’t understand what was going on, but since he possessed the soul of the snake, he still foolishly stared at the young girl.

"This snake has attained some spirituality, not bad at all. I’ve been blowing and he hasn’t gotten confused..."

"Damn it!" Yusuf Zuck heard the girl’s comment and, with a flick of his tongue and a turn of his head, collapsed to the ground with a thud!

"Eh..." The little girl was momentarily stunned, then covered her mouth and laughed heartily: "I thought you had some cultivation. Turns out you’re just scared stiff. But don’t worry, Big Flower Snake, I’ll take you home to play." As she spoke, the little girl grabbed Yusuf Zuck by the scruff of his neck and tossed him into the basket behind her.

Once Yusuf Zuck landed in the basket, he immediately started thrashing around, of course, this was all an act.

The little girl and a bunch of kids headed into the mountains once more.

Moments later, a large centipede was thrown into the basket by the little girl. Without thinking, Yusuf Zuck just swallowed the centipede whole.

After that, ants, scorpions, rats, venomous snakes, toads, and such were constantly thrown into the basket. These poisonous insects, because they were startled, didn’t immediately attack each other. But it wasn’t long before it was either they ate each other, or got eaten.

Yusuf Zuck could also hear the little girl’s laughter from time to time.

Around dusk, the group of children returned to the entrance of Sheppard Village. Coincidentally, the old man and old lady carrying the basket had also returned before dark. However, both of them looked very upset and didn’t talk to the children; they just went ahead and entered through the wooden gate.

The little girl went in as well, and Yusuf Zuck, lying in the basket, peeked through a gap and saw that there wasn’t a village here, just a peach orchard.

But these were not the Goodman Family’s Great Divine Peaches, just ordinary wild peaches.

As the children bounded deeper into the peach orchard, they suddenly stopped. Then Yusuf Zuck heard all the children bowing in one direction and saying: "Greetings, Grandfather Python." Yusuf Zuck looked in the direction the children faced and got the shock of his life, because right before the children’s side was a giant snake – perhaps sixty to seventy yards long - lazily sprawled on the ground, also opening those dead fish eyes, showing a benevolent smile unique to humans, and said, "Everyone’s back? Then go home quickly, pick some peaches to eat if you’re thirsty!" This giant snake was also capable of human speech; it was a Celestial Beast!

The children climbed up the trees to pick peaches, then munched as they walked.

And after the peach orchard, there came a vast rice field, only in the middle of this enormous rice field, a pond had calm waters with no rice seedlings in sight.

When the children passed by, a few of them threw peaches into the water, and it seemed like something huge stirred beneath, making water whirlpools; all the peaches were sucked into the center of the vortex.

"Hehe, head home quick, it’s getting dark," a voice came from the pool.

Laughter erupted among the children, with some saying Grandfather Lai is gluttonous, while others said Grandfather Lai is again cultivating his Divine Ability, not even showing his face.

Yusuf Zuck realized, dammit, there was a giant Lai toad in this pond!

Moments later, they passed by a heap of rocks where a twenty-some-yard-long enormous scorpion perched, even threatening the kids that it would eat whoever lagged behind, causing the children to cry out in fear and bolt.

After that, Yusuf Zuck saw giant rats and centipedes; there were five distinct areas. Passing these five areas, they arrived at a village nestled in a depression surrounded by mountains on three sides, roughly a hundred or so households. As dusk approached, each household was emitting wisps of blue smoke, cooking dinner over fires.

Before the little girl got back to her own home, Yusuf Zuck transformed into the Parasitic Light and burrowed into her forehead, instantly possessing her soul.

"Whoosh~" The little girl’s jumbled memories were quickly assimilated by him, and then he gained a deeper understanding of Sheppard Village.

After understanding this place, Yusuf Zuck was also deeply shaken because the ancestors of this Sheppard Village turned out to be one of the ancient Evil Gods; they were descendants of ancient Evil Gods.
