Chapter 1262: Chapter 1261: The Great Escape of a Million Slaves

Jaxon Berger’s Space Ring was taken off by Yusuf Zuck, and after merely glancing at it, he casually threw it into the Blue Sea and Cloud Sky.

Actually, Roman Berger, Alden Baxter, and Leonidas King were all very curious about what treasures a Lower Heavenly God’s ring could contain. It was conceivable that Commander Jaxon Berger had countless Spirit Stones and endless rare treasures.

However, none of them saw any excitement on Yusuf Zuck’s face; it was as though Jaxon Berger’s ring was empty.

Over the years, what treasures hadn’t Yusuf Zuck seen? Thus, he had long reached a state of being unruffled by gains or losses, no matter how miraculous the Magic Treasures or how vast the wealth, he had little interest.

Because the greatest wealth in the world was the Purple Blood Beads in his mind, unique under the heavens!

The four continued to ride the alpha wolf, carrying Jaxon Berger’s corpse, and quickly covered a distance of three million miles. After nightfall, they arrived just outside the camp.

Yusuf Zuck, along with Alden Baxter, Leonidas King, and the alpha wolf, didn’t enter the camp but instead let Roman Berger go back alone. Without saying a thing, if Roman Berger couldn’t handle even this, he was of no value, and keeping him would be pointless; this was also a test for Roman Berger.

Soon, the sound of a bugle call to assemble echoed from within the camp, and the camp was thrown into chaos. However, after a brief moment, the camp quieted down, and then several heads were hung on the flagpole, shockingly those of a few Divine Weapon soldiers.

It seemed Roman Berger was setting an example with a few killings; he had indeed taken control of the camp.

About six hours later, slaves gradually began emerging from the Slave Cave, gathering more and more in number.

Yusuf Zuck, along with Leonidas King and Alden Baxter seized the chaos to sneak back into camp, blending in with the throng of slaves, while Yusuf Zuck curiously looked toward the platform.

Roman Berger was wearing Armor, a dagger slung at his waist, imposing and fierce, with a stern gaze, and behind him stood eight watchful Divine Weapon soldiers, clearly his accomplices.

Finally, all the slaves gathered in the military parade ground, torches were lit everywhere, and all slaves stayed silent.

At that moment, Roman Berger took a deep breath and said, "Two days ago, three slaves escaped to the Northern Snow Mountain, and our esteemed commander, in the process of pursuing these three slaves, was brutally killed by Celestial Beasts on the mountain, and the three slaves were devoured alive by the Celestial Beasts!"

"What? The commander is dead?"

"My heavens, this is big news."

"It seems our days ahead are going to be even tougher."

"My name is Roman Berger, also of the Berger Clan, effective immediately, I’m taking over the camp, and I have just received a secret order from the clan. From now on, release all slaves. You will line up shortly, and a designated person will unlock your chains and remove the Soul Imprints."

"Uh..."

"Did I hear that wrong?"

"It can’t be real, right?"

"Silence!" Roman Berger shouted authoritatively: "It starts now, immediately, quickly!" This man was emulating Yusuf Zuck, demanding speed!

Yusuf Zuck, Alden Baxter, and Leonidas King exchanged looks; Roman Berger had thought of everything, even removing the chains and imprints, so once these million slaves scatter, the Berger Clan could never capture them all. There would always be some who escape, thus making their own chance to escape greater. Especially since Roman Berger had mentioned, they three had been devoured by a Celestial Beast, indicating that the Berger Family would not pursue them.

Of course, Roman Berger himself would certainly be pursued, and it wouldn’t be surprising if by tomorrow morning, the Berger Clan came to hunt down Roman Berger.

Other Divine Weapon warriors had doubts before, but those who doubted were all killed by Roman Berger. Besides, Divine Weapons must obey the orders of the superior, so regardless of whether the act of releasing the slaves was true or false, the Divine Weapons could only execute it.

The slaves originally did not believe it, but as the slaves ahead of them got their shackles unlocked, divine seals removed, and walked out of the barracks’ gate, the slaves suddenly became unsettled, jostling and pushing forward, scrambling to escape.

Some old slaves had been here for nearly thirty thousand years, but at this point, they were in tears. Their time here felt like an eternity, these thirty thousand years had smoothed their sharp edges, quenched their spirited demeanor, and even aged them immensely.

Among the million slaves, at least seven hundred thousand had hair that had turned white—not from old age but from constant worry.

And now, they were finally liberated, so many of them wept, many laughed uncontrollably, and many were bewildered because they no longer knew what they could do other than being slaves.

The Divine Weapons in the barracks no longer controlled the slaves or maintained order, letting the slaves trample over each other.

Yusuf Zuck and two others took advantage of the chaos and ran out of the barracks. They then waited on the back of a leading wolf for Roman Berger.

Roman Berger handed other miscellaneous tasks to eight personal soldiers and then sneaked out himself. When he mounted the wolf’s back, he also shouted, "Run, run, definitely some Divine Weapons have informed the higher-ups, informed the Clan. If a Divine King comes, it only takes ten days, but if a Divine Emperor comes, they can be here in three days, so we have at least a three-day safe period. In these three days, let’s escape as far as we can!"

"So if a Deity comes, it would take decades?" Yusuf Zuck asked curiously.

"That’s impossible. After such a big incident, definitely a God King Level master will arrive, so if it’s a Divine King, we still have a ten-day safe period!"

"The speed of a Divine King is that fast? Didn’t you say it would take decades even by a divine ship from the central region here?"

"I can only say that the speed of a Divine King is a hundred to a thousand times faster than a divine ship, because they can spread open the void of the Heavenly Realm and teleport! The difference between a Deity and a Divine King is like heaven and earth. One is just a Deity, while the other is the king among Deities!"

"Xue’er, speed up!" In fear, Yusuf Zuck and the others listened as the Divine King was a terrifying existence who could annihilate them a hundred times with a single thought.

"Where are we going..." Alden Baxter started to worry again: "If a Divine King really is after us, I think going back to the Northern Snow Mountain is quite good!"

"Damn it, it was your idea to go south, and now you want to go back? Can’t you make up your mind?" Yusuf Zuck scolded.

Alden Baxter just pursed his lips and didn’t dare to speak anymore.

Meanwhile, Roman Berger said, "Around seven hundred million miles away from us there is a city, in the City of Rising Smoke. This city is a bustling gateway guarding the northwestern border. If we can get there before the Divine King arrives and then disguise ourselves to take a divine ship, we should be safe! Of course, I might still be in danger. Even if I disguise myself, the Divine King could see through me at a glance. So I suggest we separate. If I’m with you, you are definitely in great danger!"

"You mean you are destined to die?" Leonidas King said in a deep voice.

Roman Berger nodded, "Yes, destined to die!"

"Heh, with me here, you won’t die. Just enter my heaven within first, release your spirit!" Yusuf Zuck smiled faintly, as Roman Berger was his slave and wouldn’t betray him, so there’s no harm in sending him into the Blue Sea and Cloud Sky.

A smile appeared on Roman Berger’s face, and then as he released his spirit, he immediately disappeared!

"Boss, you still say you don’t have a heaven? I also want to go in and see!" Alden Baxter Emperor shouted.

"Heh, big brother, let me and our second brother in too." Leonidas King also smiled. They had sworn brotherhood though unrelated by blood, vowing on the ground, so there was no possibility of betrayal. Besides, both of them entering Yusuf Zuck’s heaven was akin to entrusting him with their lives.

"Alright." Yusuf Zuck nodded with a smile, since they had sworn as brothers, they should treat each other sincerely!
