Chapter 1144 - 1143: Porter Burch the Daoist

Chapter 1144: Chapter 1143: Porter Burch the Daoist

"Who killed my son, Dream?" Porter Burch’s voice was like a nightmare, sending chills down the spine despite no actual cold.

No one answered him, because they simply didn’t know that Dream had died, and besides, Dream was Porter Burch’s son—who would dare to kill him?

"Does no one know? Does no one know?" Outside the palace, there were at least a thousand people kneeling, even including six or seven of Nether Emperor level, and even the ordinary servants were Nether Immortals.

He was a supreme Daojin, naturally having countless people loyal to him.

Still, there was no sound from outside because they didn’t know, so they couldn’t answer.

"Dream is dead, so why are you still alive? Huh?" Suddenly, the nine dark energies around Porter Burch transformed into nine Black Dragons, and as those dragons circled each other in the void, a pitch-black black hole was formed, emitting endless mournful and excruciating screams.

This was Sin Prison, where those who committed crimes in the Mortal Realm would enter to endure punishment and trials, and Porter Burch, who oversaw Sin Prison, could decide who lived and who was released.

"Please, Daojin, don’t..." As the gate to the dark prison was opened, the faces of the six or seven Nether Emperors turned pale, and they repeatedly pleaded for mercy.

"My son is dead, so you shall endure endless suffering in Sin Prison!" At his shudder, the sky suddenly turned dark, and then everyone involuntarily flew up, as if sucked into the black hole of Sin Prison.

The Great Emperors too were not excluded; they entered the black hole without any resistance, and screams of agony followed a second later.

In Sin Prison, there were tortures like Flaying Prison, Bone-Shaving Prison, Thousand-Cuts Prison, and many more. It was said to be the most agonizing place in the All Heavens and Myriad Realms—one would endure the endless pain of being flayed and bone-shaven day after day, year after year, until the sentence ended, and one couldn’t even die, because the Nether World was already the realm of the dead and there was nowhere else to die to!

Mortal Cultivators, Immortals, and others defied the heavens simply because no one wished to suffer in the Nether World—such suffering was beyond human endurance. Thus, they cultivated against the heavens, and even if they could not Ascend and become gods, at death, they would simply pass away without leaving any soul behind to suffer any further.

The palace quieted, the black hole closed, and the nine strands of black energy continued to swirl around Porter Burch, who then disappeared in a single step.

In the next second, he arrived outside a colossal mansion suspended in the Reincarnation Space, guarded by two doormen, and also featuring a ferocious roaring beast that resembled a porcupine, its body covered in black spikes and incredibly huge—this was a Soul Beast unique to the Nether World, which daily consumed a large number of Nether Souls, souls of mortals after their death in the Mortal Realm.

"Young ones have seen Porter Daojin!" The two doormen immediately kneeled upon seeing the visitor, while the Soul Beast whimpered and lay down, not daring to move.

Porter Burch paid no mind to the two doormen; instead, one of the strands of black energy transformed into a hand and pushed the gate open, and he stepped inside.

The doormen stared dumbfounded, not daring to obstruct him, while they also wondered what was wrong with Porter Daojin today—why such murderous aura? Had their master offended him?

"Porter Burch, how rude you are!" A stern voice came from within the mansion, sounding similar to that of Tyler Nash—neither male nor female, neither yin nor yang, giving one goosebumps just from hearing it.

"Yin and Yang old man, my son is dead, my son is dead, now, immediately, help me find the murderer who killed my son!" Porter Burch flew directly into the palace, then saw sitting on the throne within the palace a person wearing a black and white robe, with triangular eyes, resembling both a man and a woman.

This person was also a hermaphroditic Yin and Yang person, even wearing makeup, but the body and face resembled a man’s.

"What? Dream is dead?" The Yin and Yang person was initially very angry, but upon hearing the news of Dream’s death, he couldn’t help being greatly shocked, and he stood up.

Porter Burch, after countless eons, had only one son. After his Ascension to the Heavenly Realm, his son was to inherit his mantle as a Divine Master and become one of the ten Great Divine Masters. Moreover, the end of the last age was approaching, and a new era was about to begin, so Porter Burch’s Ascension was imminent, and his son’s day to become a Divine Master was not far off. But now, Dream was dead?

"Help me find the murderer!" Porter Burch said coldly.

"Why haven’t you asked your household servants?" the Yin Yang Master retorted.

"I have asked they don’t know."

"Then did you ask the higher-ups at the Heavenly Bank?" the Yin Yang Master asked again.

"Where would a Divine Master like me find the time to deal with those riffraff?" Porter Burch snorted coldly, "Will you help or not?"

"Alright, alright, I’ll help; I never said I wouldn’t help. But I remember on the Book of Life and Death, Dream was destined for eternal life. How could he possibly die?" Normally, the Yin Yang Master might joke with Porter Burch, but now, with his son dead, even joking was out of the question.

"That’s precisely why I’m furious. The Book of Life and Death clearly marked Dream’s destiny for eternal life and yet he has died. Could the Book of Life and Death be wrong?" Porter Burch said coldly.

"How do you know that Dream is dead? Did you see it with your own eyes?" the Yin Yang Master continued to probe.

"His life-commanding Jade Dishware shattered!" said Porter Burch gravely.

"I might not be able to deduce it either; let’s go check the Heavenly Book first!" suggested the Yin Yang Master as he rose to his feet, "Has the Heavenly Book been tampered with, or has some anomaly appeared in it?"

"No, calculate it first, I trust you!" Porter Burch said loudly.

"Alright, alright, if I can’t figure it out, you can’t blame me!" Unable to persuade Porter Burch, the Yin Yang Master immediately took out the Eight Diagrams Compass and placed a drop of his own Essence Blood on it, then said, "Bring something he used during his lifetime, or something like his hair or Essence Blood!"

"This Elixir, it was the first Elixir he crafted when he learned Alchemy, and he gave it to me as a token of filial piety—it contains his Essence Blood!" Porter Burch immediately threw an Elixir.

The Yin Yang Master caught it between two fingers and with a flick, the Elixir exploded, and simultaneously, as a flash of blood light appeared, the compass began to spin.

"Illusion Technique!" The process was complicated; the Yin Yang Master focused deeply, continually executing verbal and hand seals, until finally sparks of light emitted from the compass, and with a gentle flick at that light by the Yin Yang Master, a beam of light appeared revealing an image of Dream flying with over twenty Nether Emperors!

The Yin Yang Master’s forehead was covered in sweat, clearly, using such Divine Skills took a tremendous toll, yet Porter Burch watched the projected scene intently.

"Wow~" Over twenty figures arrived at the Ghostly Reincarnation Space and met two people in a deserted wilderness—one man and one woman, the woman corpulent like a pig and rugged like a beast.

The two groups exchanged words, then Dream made a move.

Porter Burch and the Yin Yang Master couldn’t hear any sound, they could only watch the scene, nor could they discern the cultivation level of the man and woman because they couldn’t feel it through the image.

Then they saw that the man counterattacked, and thereafter, Dream used Thunder Lightning, causing the man to smoke from the electrocution, but in the final moment, the man regained consciousness and slapped on top of Dream’s head!

At this, the image collapsed, and the Yin Yang Master suddenly collapsed into his chair while Porter Burch disappeared from where he was—he had gone to the Ghostly Reincarnation Space where his son had died!
