Given the grave matters of life and death, Rafael Case did not dare to take it lightly, nor did he dare to joke around, so he immediately took out the Message Jade Disc to send a message to his favored Elder Fang.

If it had been any other time, he would never have contacted Elder Fang on his own, but under the current exceptional circumstances, in case those people knew it was them who did it, and were waiting for them right there, then they’d better run as far away as possible, as fast as possible.

Of course, he wasn’t foolish enough to ask directly. Instead, he started with, "Can you receive this?"

"Received, Rafael, where are you?" came the immediate reply, just as tender and affectionate as always.

"My junior master and I just crawled out from underground, but we heard that you all went to some divine site. Where is that site? We want to go take a look too," Rafael Case, though a typically unserious man, still had his wits about him and knew how to be circumspect!

"Do not go there, do not go there at all. Right now, we all are in the southwest direction, and there’s a valley here. Delilah Ferguson of your Alchemy College has been killed, and her father is an Immortal Emperor. He ordered us to investigate the cause of Delilah Ferguson’s death, and we are here waiting for the return of that Great Emperor. You and Zayden Newton should not wander around outside. Hurry back to the group, to prevent others from being suspicious and mistrustful!"

"Ah? Okay, okay, we’ll be back right away." Rafael Case sent this and then plopped down onto the ground.

Yusuf Zuck snatched the Jade Dishware to carefully read it over. After reading it, however, he was dumbstruck — damn it, Delilah Ferguson was the daughter of an Immortal Emperor?

This was truly a disaster.

"What to do, what to do, what do you say we do? It’s over, we’re done for — an Immortal Emperor, oh my god!" Rafael Case was completely flabbergasted. Damn, they had accidentally offended an Immortal Emperor!

"Don’t panic, old man, shut your mouth!" Yusuf Zuck shouted angrily.

"Then what do you say we do?" Rafael Case asked with eager eyes.

Yusuf Zuck paced in circles on the ground, rapidly analyzing the situation and its possible outcomes.

Since Delilah Ferguson had died, her life-bound Jade Dishware would also be shattered. Yusuf Zuck had long learned through Rafael Case that some people would leave life-bound items like Jade Dishware, and a person like Delilah Ferguson would most certainly have one.

So, the Immortal Emperor would be aware of her death, and once he knew, he would investigate the cause of death — who killed his daughter?

"If we don’t go back, it would confirm our guilt!" Yusuf Zuck said with narrowed eyes: "It’s the guilty conscience that speaks."

"But if we go back, once the Immortal Emperor arrives, could there be a way for him to ascertain the situation at that time? Or he might perform Soul Search on each person. Then, there’s no doubt we would die!"

A dilemma, they were now caught in a complete dilemma.

"It might not necessarily involve us two, right? You’re a Golden Immortal, and I’m just a weakling of Second Rank Dail. Even if you multiply our strengths by ten, we still wouldn’t be able to defeat his daughter!" Rafael Case suddenly said.

"Right!" Yusuf Zuck slapped his thigh: "Exactly, although my realm has grown, I am only at the level of a Golden Immortal Ninth Rank. I am ten realms apart from Delilah Ferguson, so I couldn’t have the power to kill her daughter."

"However, we still need to guard against Soul Search," Yusuf Zuck said with a headache: "If he decides to search everyone’s soul, I should be fine, but you and Maria Haney will have trouble!"

"Shall we... elope discreetly?" Rafael Case suggested quietly.

"If we run away now, that would just confirm our guilt. Moreover, even if we escape the Spirit Realm, where could we go?" Yusuf Zuck said with a wry smile and a shake of his head: "We need to think of another way."

"Or... shall we find someone to erase our soul memories?" Rafael Case suddenly suggested.

"Erase soul memories?" Yusuf Zuck paused, suddenly recalling that soul memories could indeed be erased. Didn’t Paisley Kirk and Mia, after their Ascension, have a part of their soul memories erased by powerful beings? If the soul memories were gone, even if someone performed Soul Search, they would find nothing but a void!

"How can soul memories be erased?" Yusuf Zuck asked urgently.

"This requires someone of the Golden Immortal rank or above, and you must find a quiet place where you can completely trust each other. Then, sitting face to face, the other person initiates a Soul Search within you and strips out the unwanted memories during the process. These stripped memories can either be infused into Jade Dishware or allowed to dissipate. That’s how you erase memories!"

"Good, let’s do that. We’ll extract some of her memories, and some of Paisley Kirk’s memories, but let’s not touch mine!" Yusuf Zuck squinted his eyes. His memories couldn’t be stripped because he had the Purple Blood Beads. Over the years, anyone who had tried to Soul Search him was counterattacked by the Purple Blood Beads, so even the Great Emperor might not be able to find anything in his soul!

"Then who should do it? Your white-haired sweetheart?" Rafael Case shouted, "I’m telling you, you’ve only known her for a few days—don’t trust her just like that!"

"Then do you trust your Elder Fang?" Yusuf Zuck chuckled.

"She’s no good either..." Rafael Case’s face darkened, "She might not risk it for such a big deal!"

"Then it’ll be the White-Haired Witch Aiden Wilkinson. I trust her!" Yusuf Zuck’s eyes glinted sharply, "Let’s go, and gamble on it!"

"My God, have you two slept together? I feel like she looks at you differently, and she even let you go to her room alone. That’s not normal, man. You’ve got some tricks, haven’t you? To have bedded her in just a few days?" Rafael Case sounded like a shameless old rascal, his words always blunt and tactless.

"I’ll smother you to death!" Yusuf Zuck was rendered speechless by this guy, wishing the old rascal could have some normal thoughts in his head; he was too vile and repulsive.

"Do you really trust her that much? I don’t even dare to trust my sweetheart, yet you trust her? Unless you’ve slept with her, otherwise, you can’t trust her!" Rafael Case continued.

"We have no choice but to take a gamble. Aiden Wilkinson seems cold on the outside but warm on the inside, she’s different from others," Yusuf Zuck said.

"Alright, alright, let’s die then. Ever since I’ve been with you, it’s been like dancing on the edge of a knife—too terrifying. My heart’s always in my throat!" Rafael Case lamented.

"Hehe, we should prepare for the worst. Even if we are discovered by the Immortal Emperor, we might not necessarily die. Don’t forget I have Blue Sea and Cloud Sky; if anything happens, we’ll just hide in there. Where can he find us then?" Yusuf Zuck chuckled.

"That’s true." Rafael Case agreed deeply.

"Still, we need to be prepared for anything," Yusuf Zuck suddenly stopped. After his expression changed a few times, a flash of light appeared at his crown, and then a clone appeared immediately.

"What are you doing?" Rafael Case asked, puzzled.

"I can’t go back in my original body," Yusuf Zuck said gravely. "I have family. If there’s an accident, and my original body dies, the relatives in Blue Sea and Cloud Sky will die too. So, I’ll send my clone back!"

"And what about me?" Rafael Case glared.

"You’ll just have to die with my clone." Yusuf Zuck said and handed Rafael Case over to the clone, while his original body rapidly made his escape.

Rafael Case was on the verge of tears, feeling utterly trapped. Others might have clones; losing one wouldn’t matter much, but he didn’t have any!

"Don’t look like you’ve lost your parents. Smile, damn it!" Yusuf Zuck’s clone suddenly cursed.

"Eh? Your clone seems quite like the original, with its own independent thoughts?" Rafael Case asked curiously.

"Nonsense. Except for the most core secrets, everything else is identical. The clone is me, and the original body is me. Our thoughts and ideas are shared!"

"Where did your original body go?" Rafael Case asked again, curious.

Yusuf Zuck took a deep breath, "I’ll hide for now. If nothing turns up in the end, my original body will return to the Campbell Sect."
