Chapter 783: Chapter 779 Apology
Under the public gaze, Ye Fan and Hu Jing started to waltz to the music.
The radiant face of Hu Jing, adorned with a fox-like smile, drew her sexy body close to Ye Fan. Especially her high and full softness was just a hair’s breadth away from Ye Fan’s chest, as if any larger dance move might bring them into contact.
Ye Fan watched Hu Jing’s lovely face with a wry smile. Hu Jing immediately met his gaze with a flirtatious look.
“A lot of people are watching,” Ye Fan whispered, “It’s not good for your husband hunting.”
Hu Jing’s foxy smile froze momentarily, and she subtly distanced herself.
“Hehe, that’s more like it,” Ye Fan said with relief.
Pouting her rosy lips, Hu Jing complained, “You treat me like a dangerous beast. When you were dancing with Wang Ruolin earlier, why didn’t you stop her?”
“Hehe,” Ye Fan chuckled without a word.
He was aware of Wang Ruolin’s little movements, but he didn’t stop her. It was foolish not to take advantage of the situation. After all, a bit of flirtation didn’t harm anyone.
Seeing Ye Fan just smiling without speaking, Hu Jing said, somewhat jealously, “You seem quite pleased with yourself. Believe it or not, I’ll call Lu Xiaoman. You know, I have her contact details.”
“Hehe, you won’t do it,” Ye Fan said with a light smile.
Hu Jing glared at Ye Fan, who pretended not to see and then suggested, “Let’s focus and dance for a while.”
“Mhm,” Hu Jing agreed.
Then, Ye Fan and Hu Jing started dancing earnestly.
Hu Jing, having put in a lot of effort to fit in with the high society through dance, displayed alluring and seductive dance moves when serious, drawing the gazes of the men outside the dance floor, their eyes almost popping out.
Moreover, as Ye Fan and Hu Jing continued to dance, some of the other dancers in the dance floor felt the pressure to leave, not wanting to just be a backdrop for Ye Fan and Hu Jing, thus they stopped dancing and left the dance floor.
Toward the end, aside from Ye Fan and Hu Jing, there were only a handful of other couples left. Those few dancers were quite confident in their own dancing and had insisted on staying. However, the focus of the crowd outside the dance floor was primarily on Ye Fan and Hu Jing. They were the real subjects, while the rest became mere background.
Ye Fan intentionally showcased Hu Jing, emphasizing her beauty as fiery, with almost all dance moves designed to highlight her and downplay himself.
Dressed in a bold red, sexy evening gown, Hu Jing danced under Ye Fan’s lead, like a passionate, blazing flower in motion. She was extremely eye-catching.
This made some of the young gents drool with longing.
Finally, the dance came to an end.
As Ye Fan led Hu Jing out of the dance floor, enthusiastic applause erupted.
Ye Fan was indifferent, but Hu Jing couldn’t help showing a vain smile in response to such applause; she felt quite pleased inside.
After leaving the dance floor, Ye Fan said softly, “All right, I won’t disturb your gold-digging anymore.”
“Annoying!” Hu Jing retorted coquettishly, with an indescribable foxy look that made Ye Fan’s heart beat faster.
“Hehe.” Ye Fan suppressed his heartbeat, feigned calmness with a soft chuckle, and then walked away.
As soon as Ye Fan walked away, a dozen or so young gentlemen quickly surrounded Hu Jing.
As Ye Fan walked away from Hu Jing, he suddenly felt someone waving to him. Turning his head, he saw Dongfang Yunqi standing elegantly and nobly in front, smiling as she waved her delicate, frost-like jade hand at him.
A smile appeared on Ye Fan’s face as he walked towards Dongfang Yunqi.
Approaching Yun Qi, he also took a couple steps forward and greeted her with an elegant smile, “You haven’t been seen for a while, and it seems your dancing has improved a bit.”
“Hehe, really?” Ye Fan responded with a light shake of his head in denial.
Yun Qi turned her pretty face towards Hu Jing, who was being circled by many young gentlemen, and then said, “She is the proof.”
Ye Fan turned to glance at Hu Jing, then faced forward again.
“When you danced with her just now, all your movements were focused on highlighting her,” Yun Qi said with a smile, “Clearly, you succeeded.”
Ye Fan just smiled.
Yun Qi said, “It’s a bit noisy here, let’s go somewhere else to talk, shall we?”
“Sure,” Ye Fan replied, making a gentlemanly gesture for her to lead the way.
Yun Qi smiled and turned to walk gracefully towards a door.
Ye Fan followed, feeling somewhat puzzled. What exactly did Yun Qi want to discuss that necessitated finding a separate place?
They exited through the door and then walked along a corridor. After about ten meters, they came to an elevator. They took the elevator to the fifth floor and finally entered a quiet room.
Upon entering the room, Ye Fan couldn’t help but look around, realizing this room was no simple affair. The elegant and exquisite decor made it clear that the items within were no ordinary objects.
Yun Qi continued to walk gracefully inside, without turning back, but guessing Ye Fan’s curiosity about the room, she said, “This is my usual rest area.”
“Oh. No wonder,” Ye Fan responded.
Stopping in front of a mahogany coffee table and leather sofa, Yun Qi stopped, turned around, and faced Ye Fan directly, “Ye Fan, are you wondering why I brought you to my rest area to talk alone?”
“Indeed, a little,” Ye Fan said.
Yun Qi didn’t immediately reveal the reason. She paused, staring earnestly into Ye Fan’s eyes.
Feeling the gaze of Yun Qi on him, Ye Fan couldn’t help feeling some pressure.
Yun Qi was indeed very beautiful, a beauty that was not merely due to refined features. Her charm had elevated to a level of presence. Every frown, every smile, every move she made, inexplicably drew people to her.
Even though Ye Fan was accustomed to extraordinary beauty, being quietly and directly faced by Yun Qi’s gaze still made it difficult to maintain his usual calm and composure.
After about fifteen seconds, Yun Qi finally pursed her lips and softly said, “Ye Fan, I’m sorry.”
“Eh?” Ye Fan was slightly startled, not understanding why Yun Qi suddenly apologized to him.
Yun Qi solemnly said, “I have learned about the incident last night where Qi Ye and Wang Kaichen conspired against you. I didn’t expect that because of me, you would be brought into so much trouble and danger. I’m really sorry.”
“Oh,” Ye Fan realized and lightly shook his head with a faint smile, “No need for apologies. You’re not to blame for such matters. Besides, they couldn’t hurt me.”
Yun Qi nodded slightly and said, “I’m truly relieved they couldn’t hurt you, otherwise I wouldn’t know how to face it. I’m sorry.”
“Could you please not say ‘I’m sorry’?” Ye Fan said, “I don’t like my friends to keep saying ‘sorry.’
“Mm.” Yun Qi nodded, then her face broke into a smile, blooming like flowers in full splendor, instantly brightening the room a hundredfold and capturing his gaze in a trance.
Yun Qi didn’t get upset at being stared at by Ye Fan. She turned her delicate body towards the coffee table and sofa, smiling and saying, “Let’s sit down and have a slow chat.”
Ye Fan snapped back to reality, feeling a bit embarrassed, and forced out a smile, “Hehe, sure.”
Then, the two sat down in front of the mahogany coffee table.
