Chapter 669 - 669 665 The Things You Don't Know
669: Chapter 665: The Things You Don’t Know 669: Chapter 665: The Things You Don’t Know Walking on the somewhat deserted streets, Liao Susu lightly hooked her arm through Ye Fan’s as they chatted and admired the night scenery.
The weather tonight wasn’t very good, with a strong northern wind and colder temperatures, making it a bad time for a walk.
However, this didn’t dampen Liao Susu’s enthusiasm.
In fact, she felt it was even better with fewer people around, allowing them to chat and stroll leisurely without worrying about bumping into others.
Ye Fan didn’t know what to say about Liao Susu so naturally taking his arm as they walked.
For one thing, last time they went out for barbecue, Liao Susu had taken his arm once, so her doing it again wasn’t unexpected; and secondly, everyone was wearing thick clothes, so even with their arms linked, there wasn’t really much physical closeness.
After wandering the streets for over an hour and still finding them empty, Ye Fan suggested, “The wind is too strong; how about we don’t walk around anymore?”
“Sure, let’s find somewhere to sit.” Liao Susu smiled, “We just passed a KTV with nice-looking décor.
How about we go sing karaoke?”
With that, she took Ye Fan’s hand and turned to head back the way they came.
Ye Fan was indifferent about where they went, as he was supposed to keep Liao Susu entertained until she was tired, so they ended up going to Shengtang KTV.
Seven or eight minutes later, Ye Fan and Liao Susu entered Shengtang KTV.
This Shengtang KTV was considered one of the best in Mingde County.
They opened a mini private room, and once the waiter brought in snacks, appetizers, red wine, beverages, and a fruit plate, Liao Susu locked the door and took off her coat, revealing her beautifully curved figure.
“Giggle, Ye Fan, how’s your singing at karaoke?” As she spoke, she sat down next to Ye Fan.
Ye Fan also felt a bit hot and took off his coat, smiling lightly, “It’s passable, I guess.
I don’t know many songs.”
Hearing this, Liao Susu thought Ye Fan might be tone-deaf, so to spare him any embarrassment, she didn’t pursue the conversation further and started to open the bottle of red wine.
In no time, two glasses of red wine were filled, and Liao Susu personally handed one to Ye Fan.
Ye Fan said “Thank you,” and reached out to take the glass.
However, Liao Susu’s way of holding the wine glass led to an inevitable brushing of their fingers as Ye Fan took the glass from her.
“We don’t have to sing necessarily, we can just have a good chat, right?” Liao Susu toasted with her glass, smiling at Ye Fan.
Ye Fan smiled lightly, nodded, and raised his glass to gently clink against Liao Susu’s, producing a crisp, pleasant “ding.”
The two drank a glass each, and Ye Fan, who drank quickly, put his glass down and watched as Liao Susu sipped her wine elegantly and with adept grace, exuding feminine charm.
He figured she must drink wine quite often.
Finally finishing her glass, Liao Susu set it down and, seeing Ye Fan looking at her, flashed him a charming smile.
Ye Fan was momentarily taken aback, then regained his composure and smiled lightly, “You have a very stylish way of drinking wine.”
“Thank you,” Liao Susu smiled back sweetly at Ye Fan.
Having drunk a whole glass of wine in one go, her cheeks couldn’t help but flush with a faint rosiness, which in the dim and flickering light, along with her clear, expressive eyes, was very enchanting.
Ye Fan couldn’t help saying, “Actually, you’re very pretty.”
Liao Susu couldn’t help but purse her lips in a smile, isn’t that obvious?
She had suitors enough to form an entire battalion.
But she was still pleased to hear it.
“Thank you, you’re quite handsome too,” she said with a light laugh, her voice exceptionally pleasant.
Having once been a TV show host, her voice was not to be underestimated.
Ye Fan knew he could not be described as “very handsome,” he was at most mildly handsome, so he laughed it off, straightened his body, and faced the large LCD screen that was silently playing music videos.
“You go ahead and sing, don’t mind me,” Ye Fan said with a smile, “Coming to a KTV and not singing, wouldn’t that be a waste of money?”
Liao Susu said with easy grace, “Alright, I’ll pick some songs to sing.”
After saying that, she stood up, walked over to the song selection system with elegant strides, familiarly picked five or six songs in one go, and then folded back to sit beside Ye Fan to sing.
Liao Susu had an excellent vocal quality; her singing was very agile, melodious, and delightful to the ear.
Ye Fan listened intently for a while and felt that if Liao Susu could gain a deeper understanding of the songs’ emotions and add more variation to her singing, she would very well match a professional singer.
A few minutes later, after Liao Susu finished the first song, she turned to Ye Fan with a smile and asked, “How did I do?”
“Sounds great,” Ye Fan replied with a smile.
Liao Susu giggled happily and proceeded to the second song.
After singing five songs, she put down the microphone before finishing the sixth.
“Why did you stop singing?
You were doing great,” Ye Fan asked with a smile as he passed her a glass of red wine he’d poured earlier.
Liao Susu took the glass of wine, and Ye Fan felt his hand slightly caressed by Liao Susu’s smooth and tender touch, an unusual sensation.
They clinked glasses and each took a sip.
Liao Susu said, “It’s no fun singing by myself.
It’s better to enjoy music together than alone.
Ye Fan, why don’t you sing a few songs?”
“Alright,” Ye Fan agreed.
Liao Susu immediately stood up and said, “What song would you like to sing?
I’ll pick it for you.”
After a brief pause, Ye Fan said, “Sing ‘Things You Don’t Know’ by Wang Lihong.”
Since he really was going to participate in “China’s Good Voice,” Ye Fan had been forced to learn a few more songs lately.
“Things You Don’t Know” was one of the recent additions.
“Sure!” Liao Susu called out and turned to select the song for Ye Fan.
Meanwhile, Ye Fan also picked up the microphone and stood up, stepping away from the coffee table.
He preferred to sing standing up, which helped with the control of his breathing while singing.
As the musical intro began, Ye Fan calmed down, brewing his emotions with the prelude, immersing himself in the mood of the song.
Liao Susu selected the song and sat back down on the sofa.
Seeing Ye Fan in his element, she couldn’t help but want to laugh, thinking to herself, “I didn’t expect this guy to put on airs.”
Ye Fan, being tall and well-built and having just humbled himself, convinced her that he was no singer.
“A butterfly fluttered its wings a few times before it learned to fly,
The night sky is scattered with stars, but only a few will fall to the ground…”
As Ye Fan began to sing with deep emotion, Liao Susu was instantly drawn into the song’s world, too taken aback to be surprised.
“You don’t know why I left you,
I insisted on not saying, as I let you cry,
Your tears fell like a torrential downpour…”
Listening to Ye Fan’s deep and moving voice, Liao Susu unknowingly shed tears down her cheeks.
The song spoke of secret love and regretful lingering pasts; hearing it, she involuntarily placed herself in the story, feeling as though she had missed out on this beautiful love because she hadn’t had the courage to confess her feelings to Ye Fan.
Although she never considered herself to be coy, if there was love, she believed in pursuing it boldly.
