Invincible Young Master in the City
Chapter 546 - 546 542 Decision

546: Chapter 542: Decision 546: Chapter 542: Decision Ye Fan was sitting listlessly in his office, feeling low after breaking up with Zhao Lina.

Suddenly, his cell phone rang.

It rang several times before he lazily picked it up, not bothering to look at the caller ID as he weakly said, “Hello, who is this?”

“Son, what’s wrong with you?

Why do you sound so listless?” came Qiao Feixuan’s voice from the phone.

Upon hearing his mother’s voice, Ye Fan quickly perked up and smiled, “Ha, nothing at all.

Mom, what’s up?”

“I can’t call you if there’s nothing wrong?” Qiao Feixuan huffed.

Ye Fan laughed nervously, “Ha, of course, you can.”

“Alright, enough chit-chat,” said Qiao Feixuan, “There’s something very important at home, I need to see you today or tomorrow!”

“Mom, what happened?” Ye Fan, sensing the seriousness in Qiao Feixuan’s tone, asked concernedly.

“You’ll know when you get back here.

No delays allowed!”

“Okay, I’ll come back today,” Ye Fan replied, “Should I bring Zhao Jun along?”

“Zhao Jun…” Qiao Feixuan hesitated, thinking that an extra person might add more persuasiveness, so she added, “Bring her along.”

After hanging up, Ye Fan walked out of his office and knocked on Li Zhaojun’s office door.

Seeing Ye Fan enter, Li Zhaojun paused her work and, sitting in her office chair, asked, “Ye Fan, what’s up?”

“My mom just called me; she wants us to go back to the city, and we need to be home by tomorrow at the latest,” Ye Fan explained.

Li Zhaojun’s eyebrows furrowed slightly as she asked, “What happened?”

“I don’t know; mom wouldn’t say, just mentioned that it’s something very important,” Ye Fan replied, “Are you free?

If you are, come back with me.”

Li Zhaojun hesitated for a bit—truth be told, she really wasn’t free.

She had piled up a lot of work due to a recent trip home, plus she had training with her master.

“Okay,” she answered, “I’ll just call to book the flight tickets.”

Ye Fan nodded.

He didn’t leave the office right away, instead sitting down on the couch.

Li Zhaojun booked the flight tickets swiftly and soon had news.

Putting down the phone, she said to Ye Fan, “There’s a flight in two hours, you better hurry home and pack if you need anything.”

“I don’t need to pack anything; I can head back just like this,” said Ye Fan.

Li Zhaojun replied, “I don’t have much to pack either.

Let’s set off together in half an hour then.”

Having left some clothes in the villa when she left the city a few days prior, Li Zhaojun wasn’t worried about lacking clothes.

Ye Fan nodded, knowing Li Zhaojun still had work arrangements to make and not wanting to disturb her, he turned and left the office.

Half an hour later, Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun left Emali Group, driven by Wang Siyan.

By past three in the afternoon, Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun arrived home, dusty from travel.

Entering the villa’s first-floor hall, Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun were surprised to see Qiao Feixuan calmly watching TV on the sofa, not at all as if anything serious had happened.

“My son, Zhao Jun, you’re back,” Qiao Feixuan greeted them with a smile, took Li Zhaojun’s hand warmly, “You rushed back so quickly, must be tired, right?

Go wash up and then eat something.”

Ye Fan exchanged a glance with Li Zhaojun before asking, “Mom, what’s the matter?”

He knew that although his mother sometimes loved to play pranks on him, she wouldn’t go too far.

“Well, there really is something important.

However, it’s not urgent right now.

We’ll talk about it when your dad gets back tonight,” Qiao Feixuan said, then gently coaxed Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun to go upstairs to wash up.

Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun were perplexed, but they went upstairs to wash up anyway.

After washing up, they changed their clothes.

With his arms lightly around Li Zhaojun’s slender, soft waist, Ye Fan said, “It must not be an urgent matter, and here I am, disrupting your work.

I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay,” Li Zhaojun said calmly, “She wanted us to come back for a reason, there must be something important.”

Ye Fan nodded, pulled Li Zhaojun closer, and kissed her sweet, delicate lips.

Li Zhaojun was incredibly beautiful, which made it hard for him to control himself.

Li Zhaojun did not refuse and responded to Ye Fan’s kiss.

After they passionately kissed for a while, they reluctantly parted and then went hand in hand downstairs to the dining room to eat.

After eating, Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun sat on the sofa and chatted with Qiao Feixuan.

However, knowing that there might be a fierce argument that evening, Qiao Feixuan suggested Ye Fan and Li Zhaojun go back to their room to rest.

Ye Fan, strong and robust, didn’t mind, but seeing that Li Zhaojun indeed looked tired, he agreed.

A little after six in the evening, Ye Guohua came home.

The family gathered around the dinner table for a meal and then went up to the living room on the second floor.

Once settled in the living room, as the maid served the freshly cut fruit, Li Zhaojun graciously made some tea.

As the maid was about to leave after serving the fruit, Qiao Feixuan suddenly stopped her and sent her home, telling her to come back the next morning.

With Qiao Feixuan sending the maid away, Ye Fan suddenly realized that his parents had called him back for something truly important.

After the maid left the villa, Qiao Feixuan unnoticeably turned towards Li Zhaojun, took her soft hand, and asked with concern, “Zhaojun, is your injury better?”

“Yes, it’s better,” Li Zhaojun replied, “Thank you, Mom.”

“That’s good,” Qiao Feixuan nodded and gently patted Zhaojun’s hand, then added worriedly, “If it weren’t for Ye Fan’s powerful uncle, you might have already been long gone.”

“Mom, isn’t everything fine now?” Li Zhaojun said.

But Qiao Feixuan ignored her and continued, “You’ve just married into the family, only twenty-six and in the prime of your life with countless wonderful days ahead, and you’ll have children with Ye Fan in the future…”

“Mom—” Ye Fan complained with a frown, prolonging the word.

Why did his mother become so verbose?

Qiao Feixuan turned to glare at Ye Fan, then continued speaking to Li Zhaojun, “Fortunately, you’re okay, otherwise, we really wouldn’t know how to face your mother.

She lost her husband more than two decades ago; if she lost you now, I don’t know how she’d go on living.”

Listening to Qiao Feixuan’s words, Li Zhaojun felt a sudden chill and fell silent.

Ye Fan felt the atmosphere turn heavy and frowned as he asked, “Mom, what are you trying to say?”

“Ye Fan, if Zhaojun hadn’t taken that bullet for you that day,” Qiao Feixuan turned to look at Ye Fan and asked, “would you have been dead?”

“I…” Ye Fan nodded.

But, dissatisfied with Ye Fan’s response, Qiao Feixuan raised her voice and said, “Say it out loud, don’t just nod!”

“Yes!” Ye Fan replied, “If it weren’t for Zhaojun that day, that bullet would have hit me.

While it wouldn’t have killed me instantly, I definitely would have been killed by Caesar afterward.”
