Chapter 398 - 398 394 Living Together Again
398: Chapter 394: Living Together Again 398: Chapter 394: Living Together Again After getting off work at six in the evening, Ye Fan drove to the Dingsheng International Hotel and entered the presidential suite to pack his luggage.
Concerned that his astute mother might notice something was up, Ye Fan simply packed all his belongings and brought them back to Li Zhaojun’s villa, determined to look as though he planned to live there long term.
Wei Ziling, seeing Ye Fan’s apparent moving effort, couldn’t help but worry about the prospect of losing her job.
Approaching Ye Fan, she carefully asked, “Mr.
Ye, are you…
going to leave?”
“Hehe, no,” Ye Fan paused in his packing, stood up straight, and said with a smile, “I’m just moving to another place for a week’s stay.
You don’t need to worry.”
Wei Ziling breathed a sigh of relief and asked, “Do you still need me to stew the medicinal soup during this week?”
“Not necessary.
Consider this week your holiday.
You’ll still get your salary,” Ye Fan said.
“Mm,” Wei Ziling happily responded, “I’ll help you pack.”
Half an hour later, with Wei Ziling’s help, Ye Fan had his belongings all packed.
He and Wei Ziling then carried his things to the elevator and took it down to the underground parking lot.
Around eight o’clock, Ye Fan finally drove into the Imperial Bay Villa Community.
Entering the community of Imperial Bay, familiar surroundings stirred a complex feeling in Ye Fan’s heart.
He hadn’t expected to return earlier than planned.
A few minutes later, he arrived at the front gate of Li Zhaojun’s villa.
Seeing the brightly lit house, Ye Fan honked the car’s horn.
Li Zhaojun, who had been sitting on the living room couch, watching television while waiting for Ye Fan, heard the horn outside.
A smile crossed her pretty face as she stood up and walked leisurely toward the front door.
Meanwhile, the housekeeper, Auntie Shao, who was tidying up in the kitchen, also hurried out.
Seeing Li Zhaojun heading to the door, she called out, “Miss Li, shall I go open the door?”
“No, the person arriving must be welcomed by me personally,” Zhao Jun continued her unhurried pace toward the door, adding, “You come along too.
We might need your help carrying some things.”
The housekeeper, Auntie Shao, acknowledged and followed Zhao Jun toward the door.
Yet, she couldn’t help but wonder who could compel her employer—the aloof and lofty Hua Hai’s number one beauty, the young Zhao Jun, who already possessed a net worth of nearly ten billion—to personally open the door.
Reaching the front gate, Zhao Jun unlocked it while Auntie Shao helped pull open the other door.
With the gates fully open, Ye Fan started his car and slowly drove in before parking neatly in a spot.
He then got out of the car.
Out of curiosity, Auntie Shao attentively watched as Ye Fan parked the car and stepped out.
Then, she saw something quite surprising:
As the tall and sturdy young man got out of the car, Zhao Jun walked up to him with a normally cool and indifferent look on her face that now seemed tender and expressive.
She said gently, “You’re here.”
The tall young man, contrary to her expectations, simply nodded slightly at Zhao Jun then turned to open the tailgate of the car.
She saw the usually proud Zhao Jun not get angry at all.
Instead, Zhao Jun followed him to the back of the car as if she meant to help carry things.
“Auntie Shao, come over and help carry the items,” Zhao Jun called over her shoulder.
Auntie Shao snapped out of her surprise and quickly walked over.
Ye Fan took out a pile of things from the vehicle’s trunk and placed them on the ground, then opened the rear car door and began removing luggage onto the ground.
After taking out his things, Ye Fan straightened up and turned, fixing his gaze on Auntie Shao.
Li Zhaojun timely introduced, “This is the new housekeeper we hired after letting go of Liao Meifen, Auntie Shao.”
“Auntie Shao, this is my husband, Ye Fan,” she then introduced Ye Fan to Auntie Shao.
“Ah!” Auntie Shao couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise, her face filled with disbelief as she found it hard to believe that this ordinary young man, who although tall, was neither handsome in appearance nor wearing anything special, and who drove a mere mid-range Volkswagen sedan, could actually be the husband of the unattainable Li Zhaojun.
Ye Fan ignored Auntie Shao’s exclamation and said with a slight smile, “Hello, Auntie Shao.”
“You, hello, Mr.
Ye,” Auntie Shao snapped back to reality, hastily responding and sizing up Ye Fan from head to toe, as if trying to find something extraordinary about him.
No matter how shocked and confused Auntie Shao was, she ended up moving all of Ye Fan’s luggage inside, with most of it going to the second floor.
Although he had sneaked a peek at Li Zhaojun’s biomedical project proposal and had been to the second floor once before, this was the first time Ye Fan ascended it openly and legitimately.
After placing the items in the second-floor living room, Li Zhaojun told Auntie Shao to go downstairs and get busy.
“Tired, right?
Come down for a drink of water first, then we’ll deal with these things,” Li Zhaojun said.
Ye Fan hummed in response, took a porcelain drinking cup out of a package, then walked over to the water dispenser, filled up a cup, and turned back to take a seat in front of the sofa.
Li Zhaojun sat down elegantly and chatted casually, “Did you change cars?”
“Yeah, that’s right,” Ye Fan explained somewhat sheepishly, “The previous one wasn’t always reliable, so I switched to a different vehicle.”
Li Zhaojun didn’t pay much attention; after all, a car worth only around a hundred thousand wasn’t worth mentioning to her.
She was just making conversation with Ye Fan.
After that, the two engaged in small talk.
After Ye Fan finished his glass of water and set the cup down, he began to sort through his luggage.
Li Zhaojun, while lending a hand, said, “Before mom arrives, you can just pick any room to sleep in.
However, your clothes and personal items should still be moved to my bedroom to prevent any mishaps when mom comes, in case we don’t clean up thoroughly.”
“Okay, I’ll follow your lead,” Ye Fan said, picking up his luggage filled with clothes and following Li Zhaojun into her bedroom.
Upon entering Li Zhaojun’s room, he was immediately embraced by a subtle elegant fragrance, mixed with a faint scent of Li Zhaojun herself, which was quite comforting.
Having sneaked into Li Zhaojun’s bedroom before, there was no novelty for Ye Fan in the room’s setup, so he didn’t look around deliberately.
While leading Ye Fan towards the wardrobe, Li Zhaojun said, “To prevent mom from accidentally entering our room, your clothes will need to be neatly hung in the closet one by one.”
“That doesn’t seem quite right,” Ye Fan hesitated.
It meant that his clothes were going to be mixed and hung in the same closet as Li Zhaojun’s.
Li Zhaojun, as if anticipating Ye Fan’s concern, said with a light smile, “There’s nothing inappropriate about it.
I’ve already cleared a space in one cabinet just for you, so don’t worry about our clothes getting mixed up.”
With that, she opened two cabinet doors, and indeed, it was empty.
Seeing this, Ye Fan said, “Alright then.
Thank you.”
He placed his bag in front of the wardrobe, opened it up, and began to take out his clothes to hang.
Li Zhaojun didn’t start helping with the clothes directly; instead, she stood beside Ye Fan, handing him the hangers one by one.
Their actions had a somewhat marital flavor, although if the roles were reversed, with Ye Fan handing the hangers while Li Zhaojun hung the clothes, it would have been even more harmonious.
