383: Chapter 379: A Deeper Relationship 383: Chapter 379: A Deeper Relationship Ye Fan hurried to the Huayang Martial Arts School, where he saw Lu Xiaoman in the office.
Lu Xiaoman looked up from the desk, her pretty face slightly tired, yet she wore a smile and called out, “Ye Fan.”
Ye Fan approached her and asked with concern, “Are you busy with work?
Why are you still working overtime on the weekend?
It’s already past ten at night.”
“Hehe, actually, I was just about to leave when you called,” Lu Xiaoman said as she stood up and walked from behind the desk.
Ye Fan didn’t believe her and took Lu Xiaoman’s delicate, boneless hand, his gaze dominantly fixed on Lu Xiaoman’s beautiful eyes, “You’re not allowed to work overtime and stay up late like this anymore!”
“Mm,” Lu Xiaoman obediently nodded.
Up close, Ye Fan felt even more tenderness for the pretty Lu Xiaoman and couldn’t help but pull her into his arms.
With a soft moan, Lu Xiaoman gently leaned into Ye Fan’s embrace, following his lead.
Holding the soft and fragrant beauty in his arms, Ye Fan, still not satisfied, cradled Lu Xiaoman’s stunning face and leaned down to passionately kiss her.
With a whimper, Lu Xiaoman struggled instinctively for a moment but soon melted into Ye Fan’s ardent and domineering kiss, clumsily responding to it.
A few minutes later, their heated lips parted.
Ye Fan was slightly out of breath, while Lu Xiaoman was gasping, her cheeks flushed, her eyes misty and watery as if they might spill over with emotion.
Seeing Lu Xiaoman so charming and alluring, Ye Fan could not help but kiss her deeply again…
Fifteen minutes later, Ye Fan and Lu Xiaoman left the martial arts school in the car and found a five-star hotel for some late-night snacks.
While eating, Ye Fan said with a tone of pity, “Look, it’s already past ten-thirty, right?
Isn’t it dangerous for a girl like you to go home at this time?”
“Not at all.
I’m driving, so there shouldn’t be any danger,” Lu Xiaoman softly countered.
“Hmph,” Ye Fan scoffed, “Driving can be dangerous too.
Your neighborhood has almost no security.
Isn’t that a very dangerous place?”
“Oh,” Lu Xiaoman playfully stuck out her little pink tongue.
Unable to resist, Ye Fan flicked her smooth, pale forehead.
“Ow!” Lu Xiaoman cried out in pain, covering her pretty forehead with her hand.
Ye Fan chuckled, “That’s your punishment.
If you don’t learn to take care of your safety, the punishment will be even more severe next time.”
“Got it, my lord Ye,” Lu Xiaoman said with a coquettish laugh.
The two exchanged glances for a while before lowering their heads to continue their late-night snack.
“Didn’t your dad say he’d teach you ancient martial arts?
How’s it going?” Ye Fan asked caringly, “You should take it seriously.
If you can defend yourself, I’ll worry less since you’re so beautiful.”
“I know,” Lu Xiaoman replied.
“Actually, my dad says I have some talent.
If I practice hard and earnestly, I might achieve something in the future.”
“That’s good,” Ye Fan nodded.
“By the way, we’ve already bought a new house.
It’s in the Yihe Community on Youyi West Road in Qingyang District,” Lu Xiaoman said, “It’s being renovated now and should be ready to move into by the middle or end of next month.”
…
…
After eating the late-night snack, Ye Fan drove Lu Xiaoman back to her apartment building.
Ye Fan watched Lu Xiaoman enter the building before getting back into his car to leave.
The next morning, Ye Fan suddenly remembered something important: the new term was starting, and he needed to take Zeng Jingwei to Huahai Music College.
Thinking of this, Ye Fan almost slapped himself for nearly forgetting something so important.
Without bothering to wash up, Ye Fan grabbed his phone and called Zeng Jingwei.
The phone rang one and a half times before it was answered.
“Fan ge,” Zeng Jingwei’s somewhat excited voice came through the phone.
Ye Fan chuckled, “You’re starting school today, aren’t you?”
“Yeah, that’s right,” Zeng Jingwei said, “I plan to register at nine o’clock.”
“Okay, I’ll come over in a bit.
By the way, have you packed all your things?”
Once school started, Zeng Jingwei would no longer be a student of Hua Hai University; naturally, she needed to move out and then into the Huahai Music College dorms.
“I’ve packed them.
Thank you, Fan ge,” Zeng Jingwei said happily.
Ye Fan just smiled.
Around half-past eight in the morning, Ye Fan drove into Hua Hai University and arrived under Zeng Jingwei’s dormitory building.
Different from last time, there were already many students moving around the campus; the autumn semester was about to begin.
After parking, Ye Fan called Zeng Jingwei.
About six or seven minutes later, Ye Fan saw Zeng Jingwei coming down from the building with a large suitcase, followed by two or three other girls carrying luggage, presumably Zeng Jingwei’s roommates.
Ye Fan hurried forward to meet them and took the large suitcase from Zeng Jingwei.
“Fan ge,” Zeng Jingwei called, looking up at him with her charming face.
Ye Fan responded and noticed the three girls behind Zeng Jingwei, who were all examining him with scrutinizing eyes.
He roughly understood what their looks meant, but Ye Fan didn’t care to pay attention and simply turned around to walk towards his car with the suitcase.
When he reached the car, Ye Fan opened the trunk, placed the suitcase inside, and then turned to take each piece of luggage from Zeng Jingwei’s hands one by one.
After he closed the trunk lid and fully turned around, he saw Zeng Jingwei being pulled aside by her three classmates, talking and occasionally glancing at him and his car.
Ye Fan didn’t bother to listen; he only saw Zeng Jingwei smiling and shaking her head.
Girls whispering and saying goodbye was their business, and it wasn’t appropriate for Ye Fan, a man, to listen in, so he intentionally stayed a few meters away.
About ten minutes later, Zeng Jingwei finished talking with her classmates and came over.
“Fan ge, let’s go.”
Ye Fan nodded and got into the car.
As he drove out of Hua Hai University, Ye Fan couldn’t help asking, “Do you have any regrets?”
“No regrets,” Zeng Jingwei said, “But I still feel a bit reluctant to leave.”
Ye Fan nodded and said, “Since you’ve chosen the path of music, brace yourself for the journey ahead.
For many people, music can be a road of no return.”
“I understand,” Zeng Jingwei nodded firmly.
She was a university student at the nationally ranked Hua Hai University.
If she had continued her studies, she would have had a promising life after graduation, even without pursuing further education.
But she had chosen the path of music, and even though she was going to attend one of the top music colleges in the country, her future was still uncertain.
Around ten-thirty, Ye Fan successfully dropped Zeng Jingwei off at the Huahai Music College, helped her pay the tuition fee, and found her dormitory.
“I should have joined you for lunch, but I have some things to take care of later.
We’ll get together another day,” Ye Fan said.
He had already postponed his appointment with Zhou Zhiqian by an hour via phone call.
Zeng Jingwei’s eyes momentarily showed a hint of disappointment, but then she smiled and said, “Hehe, it’s okay.
Your things are important, Fan ge.
We can eat anytime.”
Ye Fan nodded apologetically and then drove away.
