368: Chapter 364 Collision (Part 2) 368: Chapter 364 Collision (Part 2) Ye Fan said, “It just so happens to conflict.

But your matter is more urgent, and you mentioned it first, so…”

At this point, he spread his hands in frustration and said no more.

Li Zhaojun turned back to Lu Xiaoman’s pretty face and apologized, “Xiaoman, here’s the thing.

I have an alumni gathering tomorrow night, and I’m a bit worried about some unpleasant incidents, so I asked Ye Fan to be my shield for once.”

“Just because you need Ye Fan as a shield, what does that have to do with you two shopping for clothes here now?” Mo Xiaoyan snorted, “Don’t think we’re easy to fool!”

Li Zhaojun didn’t get angry but maintained a calm tone, “Ye Fan’s usual attire is very common.

If he dresses plainly at the gathering tomorrow night, it would backfire, which is why we’re getting him a new outfit tonight.”

“Keep making things up!

We don’t believe you!” Mo Xiaoyan said coldly.

Lu Xiaoman tugged at Mo Xiaoyan’s hand and whispered with certainty, “Sister, we misunderstood Ye Fan and Director Li.

There’s no need for Director Li to lie to us.”

After speaking to Mo Xiaoyan, she turned back and apologized to Li Zhaojun, “Director Li, I’m sorry, we misunderstood.

I hope you won’t take offense.”

It turned out she knew Li Zhaojun, being the top beauty of Hua Hai and the head of the nearly ten-billion-worth Emali Group, was always proud and strong-willed, like a queen.

If Li Zhaojun’s relationship with Ye Fan was as her sister suspected, Li Zhaojun would not have bothered to explain anything to her, given what she knew of Li Zhaojun’s personality.

Instead, she would have assertively declared that she, Li Zhaojun, had taken a fancy to Ye Fan.

Therefore, based on these judgments, she believed that Li Zhaojun was telling the truth.

“Hehe, it’s okay.

My issues interfered with your date,” Li Zhaojun said with a light laugh.

Then, she turned to Ye Fan and urged, “Cousin, why are you still dawdling here?

Hurry up and make Xiaoman happy.

You wouldn’t find another girl as outstanding as Xiaoman even if you searched with a lantern all your life.”

Ye Fan stepped forward awkwardly, approached Lu Xiaoman very closely, and whispered, “Xiaoman, I’m really sorry for not having dinner with you tonight.

Please, don’t be mad, okay?”

“I’m not mad anymore,” Lu Xiaoman whispered back.

Then, she looked past Ye Fan, stealing a quick glance at Li Zhaojun.

Seeing Li Zhaojun watching them with a faint smile, her cheeks turned red.

“Director Li is watching us,” she said shyly, stepping back to increase the distance between her and Ye Fan.

Ye Fan looked over at Mo Xiaoyan, who was glaring at him with an unhappy expression.

“Hehe, Xiaoyan, since you know it’s a misunderstanding, what’s there to be mad about?” Ye Fan said with a light smile.

Mo Xiaoyan snorted and turned her face away sharply, “What if I am mad?!”

Lu Xiaoman pulled on Mo Xiaoyan, signaling her not to be like that.

However, Ye Fan didn’t continue to appease her.

Even Lu Xiaoman wasn’t mad anymore, what are you mad about?

Ye Fan turned to Li Zhaojun and said, “This outfit is nice, let’s buy it.”

“Okay,” Li Zhaojun nodded.

After buying clothes, next was shoe shopping.

Ye Fan, accompanied by Li Zhaojun, Lu Xiaoman, and Mo Xiaoyan, three stunning beauties, walked through the shopping mall, immediately drawing countless envious, jealous, and resentful gazes.

Ye Fan faced those gazes with a smile, but his heart was filled with complaints, finding the situation quite tormenting.

Wife, lover, and sister-in-law all mixed together—what had this become?

Fortunately, for some reason, Li Zhaojun not only didn’t reveal the truth but also went out of her way to clear Lu Xiaoman’s suspicions and even urged him to get closer to Lu Xiaoman.

After buying the shoes, the next items on the list were ties and belts, followed by a watch.

Ye Fan thought his Rolex watch, worth forty to fifty thousand, meant he didn’t need another one, but Li Zhaojun insisted he buy another Rolex, this one costing two to three hundred thousand.

Throughout the whole process, with Lu Xiaoman and Mo Xiaoyan tagging along, all expenses were paid by Li Zhaojun.

Once they had finished shopping, Ye Fan thought his ordeal was over, but Li Zhaojun suggested they find a place to sit and have some late-night snacks before heading back.

They drove to a nearby upscale late-night eatery and chose a table in a relatively good spot before the four of them sat down.

Lu Xiaoman was rather shy and felt awkward sitting next to Ye Fan in front of Li Zhaojun, her “cousin,” so she chose to sit with Li Zhaojun, while Mo Xiaoyan sat with Ye Fan.

After sitting down, Lu Xiaoman intentionally avoided speaking to Ye Fan across from her and turned to chat with Li Zhaojun.

Li Zhaojun was particularly personable and engaged Lu Xiaoman in a quiet conversation.

Because Lu Xiaoman believed Li Zhaojun was truly Ye Fan’s cousin, and considering Li Zhaojun’s former high status as a chairman, she was especially ingratiating in her speech with her.

Li Zhaojun wore a faint smile and asked Lu Xiaoman about her plans since resigning.

Lu Xiaoman didn’t hide anything and told her about Hua Hai’s martial arts school.

Li Zhaojun and Lu Xiaoman whispered among themselves, and Ye Fan, as a man, naturally felt embarrassed to interrupt.

He wanted to chat casually with Mo Xiaoyan to stave off boredom, but she was pouting and turning her pretty face away, refusing to speak to him.

Seeing Mo Xiaoyan like this, Ye Fan simply kept quiet.

He didn’t see the need to desperately try and cheer her up.

It wasn’t until past ten-thirty that Ye Fan and the others left the late-night eatery and drove back separately.

After returning to the Dingsheng International Hotel, Ye Fan first called Lu Xiaoman, “Sister Xiaoman, have you gotten home yet?”

“Not yet.

But you don’t need to worry about me; my sister is with me,” Lu Xiaoman replied.

“Have you reached the hotel?”

“Yep,” Ye Fan responded.

“Send me a text when you get home.”

After ending the call with Lu Xiaoman, Ye Fan checked the time, assuming that Li Zhaojun hadn’t returned to the villa yet, so he didn’t call her immediately and went to take a shower instead.

After showering and checking his phone again, it was now eleven-something.

There was also a missed text message; it was from Lu Xiaoman, letting him know she was home safe.

He replied to Lu Xiaoman’s message and then started calling Li Zhaojun.

The phone was picked up immediately upon dialing, indicating that Li Zhaojun was already holding her phone.

Although the connection had been quick, both parties remained silent for half a minute without speaking.

Ye Fan took a deep breath and forced a laugh, “Heh, thank you for tonight.”

“You’re welcome,” Li Zhaojun said calmly.

Then, there was another half-minute silence.

Ye Fan’s mind was overflowing with thoughts until he finally said, “Tonight… I made you suffer.”

Li Zhaojun, as the legitimate wife, had to cover for him before Lu Xiaoman, who was akin to the other woman.

No matter how distant their relationship, or even if they might divorce in a month, the unpleasantness was considerable.

Any other woman surely wouldn’t have been able to do this.

“It’s nothing.

Our public relationship has always been as cousins.

I just acted as a cousin should,” Li Zhaojun said flatly.

“Of course, if in a month’s time we are still not divorced, I’ll have to clarify things with Lu Xiaoman.”

Ye Fan didn’t reply but felt a twinge of guilt in his heart.
