Invincible Young Master in the City -
Chapter 170 - 170 166 Not for Sale
170: Chapter 166: Not for Sale 170: Chapter 166: Not for Sale “Shen Yan’s front-row concert tickets will arrive in half an hour,” Ye Fan said indifferently, ignoring Luo Xinling’s expression.
“However, I’ve changed my mind, I can’t give them to you for free.
You’ll have to buy them yourself.”
This blind date was meant to fail from the start.
Now that Luo Xinling had disgusted him, he certainly wasn’t going to give her a concert ticket worth thousands for free.
He didn’t care about the thousands of dollars, but he didn’t want to be an idiot.
Finally coming back to her senses from the shock, Luo Xinling asked in disbelief, “Did you, did you just speak to Yanyan on the phone?”
“If Yanyan is Shen Yan, then I did indeed call her,” Ye Fan replied calmly.
“Wow!” Luo Xinling exclaimed excitedly, suddenly standing up, circling the table, and threw herself onto Ye Fan, hugging his right arm tightly as she excitedly said, “Ye Fan, I’ve decided to be your girlfriend!”
Although his arm was pressed by softness, Ye Fan felt nothing but a bit of disgust.
“I’m sorry, I don’t think we’re suited for each other,” Ye Fan said coldly.
“Why not?
I think we’re quite a good match,” Luo Xinling said unwillingly.
“You know Yanyan, and I admire Yanyan too, which shows we have common interests.”
Ye Fan was speechless.
He couldn’t violently kick Luo Xinling away, so he turned his head and looked towards Tantai Wanrong for help.
Tantai Wanrong said, “Xinling, let’s eat first, and then we can talk about other things, okay?”
Knowing Tantai Wanrong was the deputy mayor and feeling somewhat in awe of her, Luo Xinling could only reluctantly let go of Ye Fan’s arm and return to her seat.
“Ye Fan, how did you get to know Yanyan?” she asked, still interested in gossiping.
Ye Fan felt that his privacy was none of a “stranger’s” business whom he’d never meet again after half an hour, so he casually said, “I don’t remember.”
The message to Luo Xinling was clear: he didn’t want to discuss it.
“How could you not remember?” Luo Xinling challenged.
“That’s Yanyan we’re talking about.
It’s impossible not to remember.”
Ye Fan didn’t continue the conversation and turned his head to look at Tantai Wanrong.
Tantai Wanrong’s stunningly beautiful face showed a hint of embarrassment.
During the last blind date, the woman was the beauty queen from Hua Hai University, too outstanding to be interested in Ye Fan, so she had selected Luo Xinling, who had relatively more ordinary qualifications.
Little did she expect that Luo Xinling, despite her good looks, would turn out to be an airhead.
Knowing how shrewd and astute Ye Fan was, how could he possibly be interested in Luo Xinling?
Seeing that Ye Fan obviously didn’t want to talk to Luo Xinling anymore, Tantai Wanrong had to intervene and smooth things over, starting a conversation with Luo Xinling herself.
Then, as Tantai Wanrong and Luo Xinling chatted, Ye Fan buried his head and focused on his meal.
Twenty-four minutes later, a young man wearing jeans, a T-shirt, and a red sun hat briskly walked up and asked Ye Fan, “Excuse me, are you Mr.
Ye Fan?”
“I am,” replied Ye Fan, standing up.
“Here’s something someone urgently asked me to deliver to you.” The young man in the red sun hat handed over a sleek, flat, rectangular box.
“Please sign for it.”
Ye Fan took the pen, scribbled his signature flamboyantly, and then received the elegant box.
As the man in the red sun hat walked away, Luo Xinling asked impatiently, “Is it Yanyan’s front-row concert tickets?”
Without answering her, Ye Fan opened the box slowly and saw a small stack of tickets neatly arranged inside.
He also caught a whiff of fragrance drifting from the box—a scent he had smelled on Shen Yan.
Pulling out the concert tickets, Ye Fan counted them—one, two, a total of ten, and all front-row tickets.
Shen Yan was really generous.
Luo Xinling gazed at them, her eyes gleaming, her pretty face full of envy and surprise.
Ye Fan casually drew out a ticket and waved it at Luo Xinling, saying indifferently, “Friendship price, three thousand per ticket.
If you want it, bring the cash.”
“Okay, okay, I want it,” Luo Xinling immediately exclaimed.
As she spoke, she quickly picked up her pink handbag, unzipped it, and took out her wallet.
In a short while, she looked up, somewhat embarrassed, and said, “I’ve only got a little over two thousand.”
Then she pleaded, “Can you wait for me?
I can go get the money and bring it right back to you.”
“Forget it, having a meal together is also a kind of fate,” Ye Fan spoke nonchalantly, “Keep enough for your cab fare home, just give me whatever else you have.”
“Hehe, how can I accept this?” Luo Xinling said, “Thank you.”
Then she pulled out a hundred-dollar bill and handed over all the money in her wallet to Ye Fan.
Ye Fan accepted the money without ceremony and handed the ticket over to Luo Xinling.
Holding the ticket, Luo Xinling looked it over carefully, her face lit up with excited delight.
Then, she lifted her gaze to the remaining nine tickets in Ye Fan’s hand.
“Ye Fan, can I buy a few more of those nine tickets?” Her eyes glinted with eagerness as she asked, “I’m willing to pay market price, even above it.
I have a few good friends who really want front-row tickets to Yanyan’s concert.”
Ye Fan shook his head with a faint smile, replying, “Sorry, these nine tickets are not for sale.”
Having said that, he turned to Tantai Wanrong and said, “Aunt Wanrong, these tickets are for you.”
He then placed the nine tickets on the table in front of Tantai Wanrong.
Tantai Wanrong glanced down at the tickets, then with a light laugh and a slight shake of her head, she said, “Thank you for your kind offer, but when would an auntie like me have the time to go to a concert?
You keep them and give them to your other friends or colleagues.”
Ye Fan knew Tantai Wanrong’s words were true; an Executive Vice Mayor of Hua Hai City might not be inundated with work all day, but certainly didn’t have the time for a concert.
“Then please feel free to give them to friends around you,” Ye Fan suggested.
Upon hearing this, Luo Xinling felt a pang of pain, her face burning with emotion.
She had tried so hard, pulled so many strings but couldn’t get a hold of a single front-row ticket to Shen Yan’s concert, yet Ye Fan and Tantai Wanrong were casually pushing those nine front-row tickets back and forth, not making a big deal out of them, even telling her to give them away for free.
And to think she had just assumed Tantai Wanrong couldn’t get front-row tickets to Shen Yan’s concert.
Tantai Wanrong thought for a moment, then said, “Alright.
Yaoyao, that crazy girl, might want them, so I’ll take three.
You keep the rest to give to friends or colleagues.”
She stretched out her hand, took three tickets, and put them in her handbag.
Ye Fan had no choice but to take back the remaining six tickets.
Luo Xinling, still not giving up, asked, “Ye Fan, can you sell me two or three more?
I’m willing to offer ten thousand per ticket.”
“Hehe, I’ve told you, these are not for sale,” Ye Fan said with a smile, putting the tickets back into their cardboard box.
Then, he took out his phone and sent Shen Yan a thank-you message for receiving the tickets.
He wasn’t short of money, and since the tickets were a gift from Shen Yan, how could he sell them as merchandise?
