As they passed a forest, there was a rustling noise from deep within the trees, and a gray squirrel scurried away from under a green bamboo tree.

Xiao Hua the dog bolted out, rushing into the woods to hunt squirrels.

"Xiao Hua is so fierce!"

Lin Fei smiled.

Xiao Hua is indeed a skilled hunter.

Lin Fei, leading the ox, continued on his way.

When he had led the ox to a spot near the small river where the water grass was lush, Lin Fei wrapped the ox’s rope around its horns, allowing it to graze on its own.

Lin Fei, with his basket on his back, wandered down the path, planning to find a spot to pick mushrooms.

Upon reaching a nearby pine forest, Lin Fei immediately ducked in and quickly found a lot of high-quality wild mushrooms like porcini, chanterelles, and green-headed mushrooms. He promptly picked them and put them into his basket.

Soon, Lin Fei had picked half a basket of wild mushrooms.

As Lin Fei continued towards the upper part of the woods, hoping to find more mushrooms, he suddenly heard a woman’s voice coming from the bushes.

"Is that Sister Xiumei?"
