Chapter 53: Chapter 53 The Pretty Girl Who Sells Fish on Live Stream

About twenty minutes later, they arrived in Fengyu Town.

"Yun, are we going straight to the farmers’ market?"

Lin Fei asked Qin Yun.

"Mhm!"

Qin Yun nodded.

Generally speaking, selling agricultural products typically meant heading to the farmers’ market.

The farmers’ market, established by the town government, served as a designated place for setting up stalls. On regular days, there were a few permanent stalls; however, during market days, many farmers would bring their agricultural products to sell.

Since today wasn’t a market day, the farmers’ market wasn’t as bustling, leaving many stalls vacant.

Upon arriving at the farmers’ market, Lin Fei immediately parked the tricycle in front of one of the vacant stalls and then took down the carrying baskets from the tricycle’s rack.

After setting up the watermelons, Lin Fei and Qin Yun stood by the stall, waiting for customers.

In the vicinity, three permanent stallholders were present: a middle-aged, plump butcher selling meat, a middle-aged woman selling vegetables and fruits, and a stall run by a pretty young woman in her twenties selling fish.

Lin Fei couldn’t help but glance at the young woman selling fish, his curiosity piqued.

Normally, fish sellers were rough-looking men; it was rare to see young women, let alone a pretty young woman, selling fish.

With no customers around, the young woman was engaging in a live stream on her phone. Her style was rather subdued—just casually chatting with the viewers in her live room, not dressed provocatively nor posing flirtatiously.

From his angle, Lin Fei could see the young woman’s profile. She had a graceful figure, prominent chest, fair skin, and a charming allure.

"What’s the point of live streaming here?"

Lin Fei murmured to himself.

Then, he shifted his attention and took out his phone, casually browsing the Douyin app.

After a few swipes, he immediately stumbled upon a live stream of a young woman selling fish. Lin Fei took a quick look and realized—it was the beauty streaming just ten meters away!

Lin Fei clicked to enter her live room and, lo and behold, over four thousand viewers, mostly men, were watching her stream, with many tossing her virtual gifts.

"Damn, I really didn’t expect that. I thought she was just dabbling, but looks like I underestimated it!"

Lin Fei exited the live room as there was no need to keep watching it. If he really wanted to see, he’d rather watch the real person just ten meters away.

After putting away his phone, Qin Yun gently nudged Lin Fei with her elbow and quietly asked, "You little rascal, enjoying the view?"

"What view?"

Lin Fei inquired.

"Humph, don’t play dumb, aren’t you looking at that little beauty selling fish?"

Qin Yun continued.

"Oh, you mean her? Honestly, she’s very pretty!"

Lin Fei chuckled.

Then he paused, changing his tone before adding, "But, compared to you, Yun, she falls a bit short. She doesn’t have your charm!"

"Hmph, you little rascal, your lips are as sweet as honey. I wonder which girl will end up enduring you in the future!"

Qin Yun was clearly delighted, a slight blush on her cheeks.

Being complimented by someone she fancied obviously made Qin Yun very happy.

"Yun, I only want to be with you!"

Lin Fei earnestly said to Qin Yun.

"Oh please, you say that now, but who knows, you might change your heart later!"

Qin Yun playfully scolded Lin Fei, her tone laced with coquetry.

"Yun, I will never change my heart towards you, never ever!"

Lin Fei thumped his chest and said.

"Hmph!"

Qin Yun gave a delicate snort.

It didn’t matter to her whether what Lin Fei said was true or not, as long as it sounded comforting.

Sometimes, even if women know it’s a lie, they still prefer to indulge in lies where they find happiness; being too sober can lead to too many troubles.

At this time, some of the town’s residents came to the local market and happened to pass by the stall, seeing the fresh watermelons, they stopped with interest.

"Selling watermelons? These watermelons were just picked from the field, very fresh, juicy, and tasty. You can try before you buy..."

Qin Yun immediately greeted these residents with a sweet smile.

"Let’s try..."

The residents immediately picked up slices of the watermelon to taste.

"Mmm, not bad, really tasty. How much per pound?"

one person asked.

"Six yuan per pound!"

Qin Yun said.

"Hmm, six yuan per pound, that’s not expensive. Give me two..."

"I’ll take one too; I want this biggest one..."

"Weigh one for me..."

After tasting the watermelons, the residents all decided to buy.

These locally grown watermelons, naturally pollution-free, were exceptionally fresh, and six yuan per pound was indeed a fair price.

Qin Yun was very happy and immediately began weighing the watermelons for them.

Lin Fei was nearby, handling services like collecting money.

Each watermelon weighed at least ten pounds. Several large watermelons sold quickly, and Qin Yun made over three hundred yuan in an instant.

After the residents left, Qin Yun and Lin Fei continued to man their stall, waiting for more customers.

Just then, a group of young guys with blonde hair, wearing ripped jeans and smoking cigarettes, walked into the market from the entrance.

Once they reached Lin Fei and Qin Yun’s stall, the ten or so blonde-haired young men crowded around it.

The leader of the blonde-haired group had a very noticeable scar on the left brow, seemingly a scar from being slashed in a fight.

Scarred Yellow Hair, with a sinister glisten in his eyes, scanned Qin Yun up and down, almost as if his gaze could see through Qin Yun’s clothes to her graceful body below.

Qin Yun felt quite uncomfortable from the staring, yet she still greeted the group of blond youths,"Excuse me, are you looking to buy watermelons?"

Scarred Yellow Hair’s gaze lingered on Qin Yun for a few more seconds before he licked his lips. Then he asked coldly, "You, new faces, huh? New around here?"

"?"

Lin Fei and Qin Yun looked at each other, not quite understanding what Scarred Yellow Hair meant.

Scarred Yellow Hair then said, "Since you’re new here, there are rules to follow. If you want to set up a stall here, you need to pay a management fee!"

"Management fee?"

Qin Yun was stunned.

"That’s right, a management fee!"

Scarred Yellow Hair continued, licking his lips.

Lin Fei realized something was very wrong. They had encountered thugs demanding protection money.

Lin Fei’s expression immediately turned cold.
