Chapter 270: Chapter 270: What part of me do you miss?
"The first question, how did I know you were surrounded by Wan Yuanhai’s men, is quite simple. This is Jiangbei’s territory. When he brought a large group of powerful individuals into Jiangbei, naturally it fell under the supervision of our Jiangbei Martial Association."
"For the second question, regarding you becoming a member of the Martial Association Headquarters and the matter of going to the Kunlun Trainees, those are An Ran’s way of repaying you," Cui Fengyi said straightforwardly.
An Ran?
A hint of surprise flickered in Su Luo’s eyes.
"Don’t be fooled by that girl’s carefree demeanor," Cui Fengyi continued, "she places great value on relationships. You’ve been good to her, so naturally, she’ll reciprocate with even greater kindness."
After a moment of silence, Su Luo said, "Then please extend my thanks to her, President Cui."
Cui Fengyi looked at Su Luo curiously, "Don’t you have An Ran’s contact information?"
Su Luo suddenly realized, although An Ran had returned to the Capital City, he could indeed still contact her. He burst into laughter, "I was momentarily confused."
"Moreover, there’s no need for such formality, always addressing me as President. Like An Ran, you can privately call me Aunt Cui," Cui Fengyi suggested.
Thereupon, Su Luo laughed and said, "Then I’ll take the liberty of calling you Aunt Cui."
"That’s fine," Cui Fengyi smiled, clearly aware of what had happened between Su Luo and An Ran and held a high opinion of Su Luo.
"As a member of the Martial Association Headquarters, you still remain independent, simply holding a position there. As for the Kunlun Special Training Base, you can decide on your own whether to go. But from my perspective, I would recommend that you do," she said.
Then, Cui Fengyi began to introduce Su Luo to the Kunlun Special Training Base.
The Kunlun Special Training Base was located near Mount Kunlun, in a hidden spot officially used by Huaxia to train Martial Artists.
However, it wasn’t just official Martial Artists who could train there; large Martial Arts Families and aristocrats could also find ways to secure some spots for themselves.
In other words, the Kunlun Special Training Base was where the country’s most outstanding young Martial Artists gathered.
There, one could receive systematic, scientific training, and the environment provided enough competitiveness to prompt Martial Artists to make progress.
Additionally, at the base, one could learn numerous martial skills, even mental cultivation techniques. These were closely guarded secrets for the Martial Arts Families and sects but at the Kunlun Special Training Base, many such resources were freely available to the trainees.
Most importantly, if you were outstanding enough at the Kunlun Special Training Base, you could obtain cultivation resources that were difficult to come by elsewhere through competition.
Overall,
it wasn’t a place for profit but for nurturing strong Martial Arts practitioners for the nation.
It’s a place many Martial Artists dreamt of going to!
"Alright, I’ll go!"
Su Luo immediately agreed.
His main goal was for cultivation resources. After all, as Cui Fengyi had said, as long as one was outstanding enough, they could get a constant supply of cultivation resources.
And for Su Luo at the moment, cultivating Chaotic Power meant that cultivation resources were what he most lacked.
Of course,
Su Luo also wanted to meet and compete with the young prodigies from across the country, to broaden his horizons, and perhaps, the competitive environment there would foster his growth even more.
Cui Fengyi nodded in approval, "Good, in half a month, it’ll be the registration time for your batch of trainees. Before that, you can prepare yourself."
"Thank you, Aunt Cui," Su Luo immediately clasped his fists, expressing his gratitude.
After Cui Fengyi left with the special operations team members she had borrowed, Su Luo’s mind conjured up the image of that girl, An Ran.
"Turns out I kind of miss her," he said with a light smile.
With An Ran around, there was always laughter. She tended to speak her mind, saying things that could stir one’s heart. Usually, Su Luo was able to keep the banter going, which was quite enjoyable.
After a bit of thought, Su Luo dialed An Ran’s number.
It wasn’t long before,
the call connected on the other end, "Brother Su Luo, you finally decided to call me."
"What do you mean ’finally’... I was cultivating before... You make it sound like it’s been months, or even years since we last contacted each other," Su Luo sighed pathetically.
"Do you know there’s a saying, ’A day apart feels like three autumns’?" An Ran giggled, her eyes seemingly curving into crescent moons, which made her look lively and adorable.
Just as Su Luo was about to respond, An Ran suddenly said softly, "Never mind, you wouldn’t know."
"How would I not know?" Su Luo said, trying to suppress his annoyance.
"We don’t have any days," An Ran suddenly joked again, accelerating the conversation to high speed, catching Su Luo off guard.
Su Luo: "..."
"You’re absolutely right," Su Luo responded once again, trying to rein in his exasperation.
An Ran giggled, "Brother Su Luo, tell me, did you miss me? Is that why you called?"
Su Luo was about to refute,
but when the words reached his lips, he changed his mind and said, "If that’s what you think, then sure."
After all, he did kind of miss the girl.
"So where exactly did you miss me?" An Ran asked with a mysterious smile.
