Chapter 139: Chapter 139: Who Said I’m Ticklish
"You... you..." Xinan struggled to speak for quite some time.
"What’s wrong with me?" Cheng Yi’s lips never stopped smiling.
"How can you say that kind of thing? I’ve been tired all day, and just now you... you did that to me, and yet you still want me to help you bathe. Aren’t you..." Xinan couldn’t bring herself to say the last word.
"Aren’t I what?"
Xinan always felt his smile was somewhat wicked, so she looked away, "You know perfectly well what I mean."
"What do I know?"
"You’re just playing dumb."
Cheng Yi looked at Xinan and thought for a moment, then suddenly realized and said, "Oh, I know what you’re trying to say."
"What?" Xinan asked.
"You’re asking whether I am still your husband, right?"
"What nonsense are you spouting!" That wasn’t what she meant at all!
Xinan tried to kick Cheng Yi, but he was quick and caught her ankle in time.
Xinan shivered all over, "What are you doing? Let go of me."
Cheng Yi didn’t let go. Instead, he pressed his leg on top of hers and looked at her intensely, "So our Nannan is ticklish after all?"
"Who said I’m ticklish." Xinan stubbornly replied, though her heart was in a panic.
His burning gaze was like a vortex, drawing her in and making her tremble uncontrollably.
"Is that so?" Cheng Yi’s brows lifted playfully, his smile deepening.
As he spoke, his hand moved to the sole of Xinan’s foot and lightly scratched.
Xinan immediately felt her whole body go numb, and she seemed to lose all her strength, laughing loudly while gritting her teeth at Cheng Yi, "What are you doing! Stop it."
Cheng Yi chuckled softly, his laugh laced with a mischievous wickedness, "Didn’t you say you weren’t ticklish?"
"Let me go!" Xinan was unbearably ticklish, struggling with all her might and glaring fiercely, but Cheng Yi still held her ankle firmly.
Seeing the wicked smile on Cheng Yi’s face, a naughty idea suddenly came to Xinan. She stretched out a hand to touch his abs and started to tickle him.
Neither of them showed any mercy. The water in the bathtub splashed to several heights, falling back down, splashing onto Cheng Yi’s face, neck, and hair, droplets trickling down from the ends.
Cheng Yi wanted to dodge, but seeing how much fun Xinan was having, he stopped avoiding and let her mess around on him. Besides, this feeling was rather addictive.
Just as Xinan made another move, Cheng Yi suddenly caught her restless hand and pulled her into his arms, then kissed her deeply.
It was hard to count how many times they had kissed that day, and later Cheng Yi carried Xinan back to bed for another round of amour.
That night, both longed to blend into each other’s embrace. It was a night Xinan would never forget because of its thrill, its intensity, and because of the passion in Cheng Yi’s heart.
He burned like a firework, completely enveloping her.
-
The next day, when Xinan woke up, it was nearly noon, and there was no one beside her.
She looked at the familiar ceiling, her mind wandering. After several months, she found herself sleeping in this room again.
But this time, her state of mind was entirely different from before. Previously, she was always guessing what was in Cheng Yi’s heart, wondering if he liked her.
Now everything had become clear, she liked Cheng Yi, and Cheng Yi liked her too.
Thinking of this, Xinan’s mood couldn’t help but soar. She came back to her senses, sat up in bed, threw off the covers, straightened her somewhat disheveled clothes, and got out of bed.
Downstairs, before Xinan even entered the living room, she smelled the scent of eggs frying in the air.
She watched as Cheng Yi came out of the kitchen with a plate, a smile on his face waving her over, "Come eat breakfast."
No sooner had Xinan walked over than Cheng Yi set the plate down and moved behind her, stretching out his arms to envelop her in an embrace, "I made all this especially for you."
His tone held a touch of swagger, and Xinan felt a childishness to him now that seemed at odds with his persona.
But she was even more enchanted by this Cheng Yi.
Xinan glanced at the food on the table. In addition to the fried eggs, there were steak, salad, pan-fried buns, and more.
"Try it," urged Cheng Yi, his eyes filled with some anticipation.
He really liked watching Xinan eat things he had made himself, and the sensation was quite marvelous, something you wouldn’t want
"Okay," Xinan agreed, sat down, picked up a fork, and took a bite of steak. It was indeed delicious and tender.
"Is it good?" Cheng Yi watched her.
"It’s good."
"That’s good then."
Cheng Yi also returned to his own seat, starting to enjoy his tasty breakfast, or more accurately, brunch.
Xinan noticed that Cheng Yi really paid attention to details; even the milk he poured for her was warm.
Midway through the meal, Xinan suddenly remembered something very important. Last night had been intense with Cheng Yi, but they hadn’t taken any precautions!
Xinan looked up at Cheng Yi and slowly asked, "Do you have... any contraceptives?"
Cheng Yi’s hand gripping the utensils paused, his brows furrowed tightly, "No."
"Then the one you gave me before..."
"Vitamin," Cheng Yi answered.
The dangers of contraceptive pills were significant, how could he possibly let Xinan take such a thing? When he saw the message Zhou Rong sent to Xinan, he was just irritated and wanted to scare Xinan.
Besides, he wished for nothing more than for Xinan to carry his child.
"Didn’t you not want me to have your child at the time?" Xinan asked.
"How could that be, I was just angry that you weren’t thinking of having a child with me, but just wanted to use the child to consolidate your family’s position."
So that was it...
When Cheng Yi had given her the pill, Xinan had taken it without thinking, not even closely checking if it was a contraceptive, nor did she consider that possibility.
Now, it seemed, she and Cheng Yi really had missed out on a lot, wasting so much time.
But now, she and Cheng Yi were only boyfriend and girlfriend. If she really was pregnant, it might not look too good...
Cheng Yi could see what Xinan was thinking. He said, "If you are pregnant, let’s have the baby. As for the wedding... we can have it while you’re not too far along. Otherwise, if you’re further along, you might feel uncomfortable in the wedding dress. After all, a wedding is once in a lifetime, and I don’t want you to have any regrets."
Xinan was touched by Cheng Yi’s words. She and Cheng Yi had been husband and wife for nearly a year, but they didn’t have a memorable wedding, which was a pity.
Xinan envied Ran Shasha’s wedding as much as she regretted her own with Cheng Yi because she really couldn’t imagine the scene of Cheng Yi marrying her, so she was actually looking forward to it.
"Okay," Xinan nodded and agreed to him.
