Bai Xiaosheng and Wei Xuelian went to the parking lot to get the car and returned via the same route they took in the morning.

Wei Xuelian first dropped Bai Xiaosheng off.

On the tree-lined road outside Sun Jierui’s house, Bai Xiaosheng stepped out of the car.

As they parted, the two of them were still a little reluctant to say goodbye.

Today had been unusually fulfilling and wonderful. If there was one flaw, it was that the time seemed too short.

"Tomorrow at ten in the morning, we will be celebrating my grandfather’s birthday at Ya Garden. I’ll send someone to pick you up. "However, I might be very busy tomorrow and may not be able to stay with you the whole time. Feel free to do as you wish at that time."

Bai Xiaosheng nodded and smiled, "Don’t worry, why would I lose my composure? We’re family now, aren’t we?"

Wei Xuelian gave him a sweet smile, "Alright, I’m leaving then."

"Drive safely!" Bai Xiaosheng said earnestly.

Wei Xuelian drove away, turning back to glance two or three times as she left.

Every time she turned back, Bai Xiaosheng waved at her. Only when her car was out of sight did Bai Xiaosheng feel a bit lost and headed toward Sun Jierui’s house.

As soon as Bai Xiaosheng entered the courtyard, he looked up and saw four faces pressed against the large floor-to-ceiling windows of the living room at Sun Jierui’s house.

The sight startled Bai Xiaosheng, but upon a closer look, he realized it was Sun Jierui and the others. He couldn’t help laughing in exasperation.

Turned out these nosy individuals had been watching his reluctant farewell scene with Wei Xuelian, their eyes fixed without blinking!

Bai Xiaosheng walked into the living room, and the four immediately ran over.

"Don’t ask me anything. I’m too tired from walking around all day. I’m taking a break," Bai Xiaosheng said with a mixture of amusement and annoyance, effectively shutting down their overwhelmingly nosy curiosity.

If he let these guys gossip, he’d never hear the end of it.

Bai Xiaosheng glanced at Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying and added, "Tomorrow morning at ten, we’re heading out."

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying’s expressions immediately became serious. They naturally knew that tomorrow was a big day for Bai Xiaosheng!

Seeing Sun Jierui and Little Emma turning their attention to him, Lei Ying immediately said, "I’m going to buy groceries!"

The two also made their exit.

Sun Jierui and Little Emma couldn’t help exchanging glances, their eyes filled with suspicion.

That evening, after dinner, Bai Xiaosheng retired early, saying he needed to rest up and conserve energy.

The night passed in silence.

Early the next morning, Bai Xiaosheng was up again. He even went for a thirty-minute morning run with Lei Ying.

After breakfast, Bai Xiaosheng made a special effort to tidy himself up, dressing neatly and sitting on the sofa to wait calmly.

Yesterday, Wei Xuelian had specifically mentioned that her grandfather’s birthday over the past two days had involved hosting business and political associates, which had been very formal. However, today was the actual birthday. The elderly man preferred peace and casualness, and since today’s attendees were all juniors, he wouldn’t allow them to wear formal attire. A Maybach came to a stop on the tree-lined road outside, and two men stepped out of the car and entered the courtyard one after the other.

One looked middle-aged, while the other, walking in front, was older.

A moment later, there was a knock at the door.

Lin Weiwei, already waiting by the door, immediately opened it and led the visitors inside.

Bai Xiaosheng stood up and looked over. The older gentleman smiled at Bai Xiaosheng and said, "You must be Mr. Bai Xiaosheng. At Miss Xuelian’s request, I’ve come to pick you up. My surname is He; you can call me Mr. He. Not to take a liberty—it’s simply what everyone calls me."

"Thank you for your trouble, Mr. He," Bai Xiaosheng replied with an easy smile.

Mr. He smiled warmly, gesturing with a polite "please" motion, leading the way outside with his companion following.

Bai Xiaosheng followed behind.

Lei Ying carried a boxed gift and walked behind Bai Xiaosheng, followed by Lin Weiwei.

The group left Sun Jierui’s house and got into the car under the watchful eyes of Sun Jierui and Little Emma.

The Maybach then drove away.

"Unbelievable. Turns out Bai Xiaosheng really has some impressive connections," Sun Jierui said with amazement.

"Hmph, my Xiaosheng is, of course, remarkable, unlike you, a poor loser and a useless bum!" Little Emma mocked him disdainfully before turning to head back inside.

Sun Jierui was instantly annoyed and chased after her, shouting, "You little chubby brat, you don’t want lunch today, huh? Daring to insult me in my own house!"
