Chapter 518: Reckless Attack
Chapter 518: Chapter 518: Reckless Attack
The wind howled as Rose’s scarf lashed through the air—sometimes like a whip, sometimes like a spear. Each strike that landed on walls or the ground left deep cracks in its wake.
When she spun and thrust it forward again—despite Qin Ming dodging—the scarf still pierced over three feet into the wall, blasting the surface into a spiderweb of fractures. A clean, penetrating blow!
After watching his opponent miss for the tenth or so time, Rose’s delicate brows furrowed. She suddenly flicked her hand, sending a barrage of Tarot cards hurtling forth.
Under the enhancement of her spiritual energy, the cards shot through the air like bullets, crack crack crack—embedding themselves deep into the wall.
Thanks to the superhuman reflexes granted by his S-rank martial arts, Qin Ming once again sidestepped the attack. At this point, he had thoroughly figured out Rose’s combat style.
She infused her overwhelming psychic power into objects, granting them incredible kinetic force.
Put simply, she was a walking firearm—able to turn anything into a deadly projectile! And what’s more, those psychically enhanced objects were nigh indestructible. It was oddly similar to Qin Ming’s own ability.
But ultimately, it was only similar. She lacked his versatility.
Now that he understood her method, Qin Ming stopped dodging. Instead, he suddenly stomped the ground with one foot, spun his arms in wide circles, and twin streams of blood spiraled up from his palms—forming a massive ring of blood before him.
Blood Manipulation: Activated!
Boom!
With a thunderous crash, Rose’s scarf collided head-on with the blood flow released from Qin Ming’s palm.
Her scarf, twisted and spinning like a drill, clashed with the blood that had condensed into a high-speed spinning spear—and the victor was decided in an instant.
Rippppp—!
In Rose’s stunned gaze, her psychically enhanced scarf was torn apart, shredded into pieces.
As fragments fluttered through the air, a blood-colored spear surged forth directly toward her. Fortunately, even though Rose wasn’t a martial arts specialist, she had some basic training—and more importantly, her potent spiritual strength granted her lightning-fast reflexes.
At the last second, she twisted her body, narrowly dodging the blood spear as it grazed past—leaving several shallow cuts on her cheek from the wind pressure alone.
Her eyes widened in shock. Her face filled with disbelief.
He broke through my trump card head-on?!
Before she could recover, she saw Qin Ming raise his arm again—this time firing seven blood spears in a row, as if his ultimate technique was nothing more than a regular combo!
Snapping out of it, Rose gathered her spiritual energy and launched herself into the air, rocketing upward at top speed—clearly trying to flee.
She had only meant to investigate someone she thought might be one of Vega’s subordinates, intending to interrogate them about Vega’s whereabouts.
But now that she had accidentally kicked a steel wall... and with this man’s strength so far beyond ordinary comprehension, how could she dare to keep fighting?
Realizing she had misjudged, Rose tried to escape—but in a direct confrontation with Qin Ming, escape was no easy feat.
As he watched her rise into the sky, Qin Ming’s eyes gleamed red. He brought both hands to his waist, palms facing each other.
Air surged violently from all directions, spiraling into a compressed energy sphere between his hands.
With his hands shaped like tiger claws, channeling energy, Qin Ming suddenly roared and hurled the ball forward.
"Hadouken!"
Boom!
A violent gust exploded as the blast of air scattered dust and debris all across the alley.
Qin Ming had fired off a Killing Intent Hadouken, and just as it left his palm, the energy sphere auto-adjusted its trajectory, surging upward toward the fleeing enemy.
Before it could even reach Rose, in the instant her panicked gaze met the oncoming attack, the energy sphere suddenly split midair into five parts, each drawing a curved arc as they converged on her from all directions.
Ultimate Technique — Multi-Tracking Hadouken!
The Hadouken blasts moved as fast as lightning. And Rose, truth be told, was never particularly fast. She was a psychic fortuneteller, not a combat veteran—if she had more battle experience, she wouldn’t have tried to flee the moment she sensed Qin Ming’s power.
By the time she snapped out of her daze, the projectiles were already at point-blank range—far too late to dodge.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion ripped through the air, sparks flying in all directions. The shockwave blasted out across the entire street, knocking pedestrians over like rag dolls.
Even lightweight vehicles were tipped over by the force. Countless windows shattered instantly.
Before the smoke in the air could even clear, a scorched figure came plummeting straight down—it was Rose, the one who had taken the full brunt of the Multi-Hadouken.
Like a kite with a snapped string, she fell from the sky, her flying ability utterly gone.
She slammed hard into the ground and lay there motionless—completely unconscious.
Moments later, footsteps echoed as Qin Ming walked over with a cold expression.
Once beside her, he nudged Rose with his foot. After confirming she was well and truly out cold, he grabbed her by the collar and hoisted her over his shoulder—turning and walking away...
...
One hour later, in a secret chamber, Rose groggily regained consciousness.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw several figures sitting across from her, unmoving, all staring at her intently.
Startled, Rose jolted and instinctively tried to get up—only to be struck by a wave of sharp pain through her entire body.
She looked down at her battered form and torn clothing, her expression shifting instantly. In a panic, she pulled at the rags to cover her exposed skin.
At that moment, the group opposite her noticed she was awake and quickly approached.
Ten Hound Squad soldiers stood in a row, rifles in hand. Qin Ming and the others sat in chairs, eyeing her with wary, judgmental gazes.
Guile stepped forward, his face grim as he barked sharply,
"Speak! Who are you? What’s your rank within the Shadowlaw organization?"
The sudden interrogation made Rose blink, her gaze turning odd as she scanned the group before her.
She was beginning to realize... she might’ve made a huge mistake.
These guys? Judging by their appearance and demeanor, they clearly weren’t Vega’s people.
Especially those standing at the front—every single one of them exuded a powerful aura. They were definitely elite fighters. Rose had never heard of such individuals under Vega’s command.
Most importantly... that man she had fought earlier—the one sitting right there—she couldn’t feel any energy signature from him at all.
That was precisely why she had misjudged him earlier and attacked so recklessly.
There were only two possible reasons someone could suppress their energy signature this thoroughly.
One: they’re a complete ordinary person, with no power at all.
Two: they’re a martial arts grandmaster, who can manipulate their power at will, hiding it entirely.
And judging by the force behind that blow he struck her with earlier... there was no longer any doubt which one he was.
