Chapter 81: The Core?

Having to give his ladies new identities was one of the things Jayden hadn’t expected. He thought his identity as The Dominus would only be for him, but then the system had brought the urge of adding his harem to the ride.

But sure, Jayden wasn’t worried about that even a bit. His ladies already had strong affection for him, and that way, they would never try betraying him or doing something against his success.

There was actually nothing to worry about, really.

Jayden then gave the Ultimate account balance another look and sighed. But then his mind seemed to flash to a certain memory.

"Five hundred..."

"Five hundred... It was five hundred VIREX Coin units that I had. Why were there four hundred left when the value started skyrocketing?"

Jayden’s eyes sharpened. He clearly appeared to have remembered fully. He couldn’t believe he had even forgotten, but he knew it was because he initially had no hope in the VIREX Coin in the first place.

That was when he didn’t trust the system enough, and his mind had been more focused on completing tasks and gathering the harem.

Now, Jayden wanted to know why...

>[A hundred thousand units were converted to Shields to delay the arrival of the Sovereign Protocols.]

"What Sovereign Protocols? What is that? What are Shields?" Jayden’s brows furrowed as he asked, those terms totally alien to him.

>[You will know soon. Now is not the time.]

Jayden flinched. "Is that a way to escape the

accusation of stealing my coins?"

Jayden glared.

>[I never stole your coins, host... After all, the whole coins were obtained from the money you earned from me.]

"Right! But you said I’m your host. Doesn’t that mean I’m the boss here?" Jayden asked angrily.

>[You are right.]

"So?" Jayden then rolled his eyes.

>[Like I said, now is not the time. The Dominus has to finish the Second Mission before the Sovereign Protocols arrive.]

Jayden really wasn’t angry because the system took a whole hundred thousand coins from him. He was only reacting that way because the system didn’t reveal what those terms meant and who was behind them.

The Shields...

The Sovereign Protocols...

Jayden could swear that he had never heard any terms close to that in his entire life.

He then shrugged and let that slide. At least it wasn’t as if he wouldn’t know about it in the end.

After all, all the actions that would be made would be carried out by him, and that makes it fair.

"Now, how do I gather the ladies and tell them about it?" Jayden asked himself.

This time the system wasn’t giving any guide. He surely could do it himself... He was their man, and the management was in his hands.

Camilia.

Paula.

Temi.

They were the highest priorities in the harem at this point, with Lynna just being a member on a cause. Sooner or later, she would be removed from the harem—but that would be after Jayden’s revenge on her family was complete.

Becky and Harper were on the line.

Jayden was even interested in Charlotte, but he figured the harem would be too big for a start.

>[Note that your top subordinates will be The Core, so you might need more women.]

>[After gathering them, you will be given packs of specialized skills for their line of duty in the empire, and you will have to give them codenames in addition to their hidden identities.]

That was a go-ahead, then.

Jayden wasn’t just going to be gathering these women for romantic purposes. No, the Infinite Wealth System wasn’t foolish.

The main cause was to serve a purpose—as companions to the boss... The Dominus.

Jayden clearly understood the whole thing, and the fact that they’d be getting specialized business skills for the parts they’d take in the empire made it a promising move.

Jayden knew the system was cooking something super-hot all this while.

But now, first, he had to gather the harem.

Camilia, Temi, and Paula were already marked on the list, and then there were Becky, Charlotte, and Harper in mind... Jayden was deeply nervous about having to sustain six women, but at the same time, he was curious.

He was looking forward to the experience, and yes, it might not be as difficult as he thought.

Once their affection levels were all above 60%, they’d be loyal and obedient to him, which would make every order final, ensuring peace.

After all, it wasn’t like they would be envious of each other either. Perhaps maybe deep inside, but there were definitely no expectations of physical violence.

The meeting between Camilia and Paula had made him sure of that, and he had to believe it was one of the effects of high affection.

A harem member might just see another as an ally or mate, and respect the fact that she was also her man’s woman...

That was a smooth flow.

After all these thoughts, Jayden sighed.

He would be meeting Paula later that day, and then he would have to win Becky and Charlotte’s hearts to get them ready in a few days.

According to the system:

>[The Core and The Dominus Empire must be ready in three days.]

That might not appear to be enough time, but Jayden wasn’t losing hope at all.

First, he focused on meeting Harper, knowing that hers wouldn’t be much of an issue.

Then next, he would get Becky at all costs, and then go for Charlotte.

Things had to go fast.

******

Later that day, he settled in Arcadia Lounge with Harper. The young lady was too excited to have a date with him, and she had even arrived before him.

Jayden admired that, and sure, this wasn’t the first time she had been showing clear interest in him—and he totally understood.

"You arrived early," Jayden said as he approached her.

"Yeah, I apologize. I know that’s a red flag," Harper replied with a sharp smile.

"No, it isn’t. It’s actually cool... and sexy," Jayden complimented, trying to be direct as they chatted.

"Nice outfit," he then added.

"Aww, thanks. You too," Harper’s cheeks flushed red as she let out a soft laugh.

"Ah, yeah, thanks."

They went straight to having a meal, definitely inside the VVIP section of the lounge. Jayden made sure to portray his high profile, and that way, things flowed well.

However, he knew Harper didn’t just develop interest in him because of his money. His rising intelligence could sense it from her actions. She was a genuine one, just like the rest of the harem members.

"So, tell me more about yourself, Harper. You’ve just been a worker in Monarch Café, so I know nothing aside from that."

Harper was high-spirited as usual, and she quickly went straight to a response, wanting to give her best impression to earn herself a spot in his heart after this date.

"Well, I’m Harper Stephenson. I lived in Silyland before moving to Cloudbridge to earn a living after my parents were assassinated," she said, her tone lowering for a while.

"I’m so sorry about that," Jayden said.

"Nah, it’s nothing anymore. It’s been five years," Harper tried to smile as she cut him off.

Then Jayden was trying to digest that statement when his brain suddenly snapped.

He appeared to remember something at once—something that made him flinch.

"Wait... You said you’re a Stephenson?" Jayden asked.

"Uhh, yeah. Any issues?" Harper asked with a curious look.

"Daughter of Heron Stephenson in Silyland? The one who got killed..."

Jayden tried recollecting the news—a news that sparked chaos in society for quite a while when it happened.

He clearly remembered.

"You’re right. I’m his daughter, but I have siblings, older and younger. But they all fled to Franch after the attacks. I was far from home that day... In the Super Squad base. My father sent me there when I was twelve. I wanted to be there."

"My mother and siblings weren’t in support of it... Only my father was. Just when I was about to make him proud by becoming a First Grade Sergeant, he was murdered."

Harper’s eyes seemed to well up, but she quickly avoided it, tightening her expression.

Jayden had to try consoling her, because this wasn’t the kind of thing he was expecting—for fuck’s sake!

He wanted to make things quick.

But he was still surprised and curious.

Harper appeared soft and simple. She never behaved like someone who had graduated from the Super Squad Base.

Jayden was sure he was the only one who knew about this, and even though he wasn’t thinking of exposing it, he was still astonished.

But he tried to act straight with her.

Now, his interest in her had risen greatly.

The Super Squad was one of the best combat and weapon-fighting academies in the country, which made Harper a crucial figure in his plans.

The empire would need a powerful defense team and strong weapon specialists.

If someone like her were a member of The Core, there would be no need to worry about that aspect anymore.

In the end, Jayden didn’t dare waste time again.

"Harper Stephenson, be my girlfriend."
