Chapter 19: VIP Room!

Chapter 19: VIP Room!

"You seem lost. What are you looking for? I can help you find it."

"Ah, you work here? Please, I’m looking for books related to spirit ingredients, especially those related to increasing concentration."

In one corner of the library, Ken, who was wearing the same white robe with a black hairpin that symbolized his position as a worker in this library, was facing a young freshman, a girl who had been here for a few minutes, looking lost and in urgent need of something.

"Spirit ingredients... Related to concentration. I see, follow me." In just 5 seconds, Ken started heading towards a corner not far from here.

The way the library was structured made it easy for all books to be found, but for specific books, you’ll have just slightly more experience around here.

’Records of Eastern Ingredients’

"This book has everything you need." Without missing a beat, Ken brought a huge book that seemed to have countless pages, but the girl wasn’t surprised by its size, more by the fact that it had everything and that he knew about it.

"Did you read it before?" She asked.

But instead of answering, Ken just gave a smile.

"It’s my job." He said.

But in fact, he hadn’t read it. The reason why he knew every corner of the library was because the sheer number of hints around made even his head hurt the first couple days he had been here.

1 month was far too short for him to even read a section of the first floor, and he was more focused on fulfilling the first part of his plans.

The girl left, and Ken finally took the hairpin, walking back to the room they had entered back when he just got admitted here.

"I’m telling you! No way I’m ever betting against you again; that crazy guy knows the library more than Adam! How the heck is he able to know the location of every book?"

When Ken entered the room, the first thing he saw was Adam sitting in the corner with a cup of coffee in his hands and Lu Chansheng sitting on a sofa with a very smug smile.

His senior, Alissa, who had been the constant victim of the bets between them this month, had almost lost her entire reserves because of Ken.

But Ken couldn’t complain; because of her, he had been taken regularly to the best restaurant in the sect.

The food there...

Not only was it out of this world, but it also even allowed him to regenerate faster, and the progress the next few days was several times faster.

But it seems that from today onwards, he would have to pay himself to get there.

Alissa had finally given up.

"You’re here." Adam greeted Ken, and after handing out his hairpin, Ken wanted to leave, but Alissa stopped him.

"Ken!" She ran towards him.

"Tell me! You have to tell me how you know every book’s location without fail! And don’t you dare give me the ’Ah, I just know’ again!" She shouted.

Ken didn’t get angry or anything; he could understand her feelings. Anyone who lost that much money would get this crazy, let alone her.

"Big Sis, everybody has secrets." Ken smiled and said nothing more.

But this single sentence made her shut up.

"..." She looked at the ground for a second, not wanting to give up and hoping that she could somehow get back her money, but at the same time, she couldn’t.

While Lu Chansheng and the other workers were just looking with wide eyes.

Adam was grinning to himself.

’This guy is going places.’ Adam, who had been folding his hands, got up from his place and headed out to leave.

’Even I can’t deal with him now; he’s far too dangerous. Better get on his good side.’ As Adam left, he gave Ken one last glance and spoke.

"Ken, piece of advice, take a mission before you go to the secret realm; it will do you wonders."

"If you succeed, I will open the VIP room for you guys the whole day." Leaving these words, Adam left.

But, the second he did, the room exploded.

"KEN! You have to go, you have to go! You can’t miss out on this!" Lu Chansheng heard these words and jumped all the way to Ken’s place.

Alissa, who had been looking down, also looked up.

"If you succeed... I will forgive you." She said, but dared not look him in the eyes, because she herself knew that none of this was his problem from the start.

Ken knew what these guys were so happy about; even the other seniors almost jumped at him, but their relationship wasn’t that close for them to do that.

Having spent a month with these guys, Ken knew them better than their own parents, so he knew what got to them.

And to be fair, succeeding in a mission for the VIP room to open wasn’t worth it at all.

Adam benefitted in no way, and the money he would spend is several dozen times more than the reward for taking care of the mission.

He just wouldn’t understand why he would do it if not for knowing that Adam had been observing him the same way he had done the past month.

He wants to get on his good side, but not knowing if his strength and battle wits were the same as the ones he shows, he tried to test him.

If he succeeded, then it might be a good investment; if he failed... Well, he failed, and it would remain a memory between a senior and a junior, nothing much.

In case Ken was curious about something, was only Adam this smart amongst the seniors, or were they all smarter than the norm?

He had to say that generation by generation, the difference was obvious.

From the way they carried themselves to the way they talked, as well as their strengths, he liked to believe that Adam wasn’t a very special case, but he lacked study materials.

For now... let’s get that VIP room access.

Shall we?
