Chapter 13: Qi Refining Realms!

Chapter 13: Qi Refining Realms!

"Now, don’t be mistaken by the first realm; only it is that easy to reach."

"If you don’t achieve at least basic mastery at the spirit cultivation technique, don’t even think about breaking through, and once you are at the 2nd realm, it only gets harder and harder to go upwards." The Elder stated, explaining.

"From this lecture forward I will be repeating all you need to do for each realm, as well as help you wherever you struggle."

Then he went on to explain each realm and what it needed, starting from the first realm.

The first stage of Qi Refining was basically absorbing energy for the first time; the moment your body comes in contact with energy, it sheds its mortality, taking its first step towards mysticism.

But, from the first realm forward, it became harder and harder.

The lack of difficulty to advance towards the first realm was if the body used all of its potential to jump forward, refusing to remain ordinary any longer.

The 2nd realm was also simple... compared to the next realms, it only needed you to reach basic mastery of the technique.

It’s not that reaching basic mastery allowed you to directly break through, but your understanding of the technique should allow you to know exactly what to do.

Filling every corner of your body with minimal spiritual energy should allow you to break through easily.

But that’s where the easy part stops, as you will need to start filling each part individually. Being a little careless or just slightly missing the right spot could bring you months of progress back.

The 3rd realm needed you to have all your skin brimming with energy, then the 4th needed you to reach the minor accomplishment of the technique, which would take a regular disciple half a year to even start.

After that he began speaking about the 4th realm, going on about how your control of spiritual energy should be adequate and that you should give your body enough time to rest and get accustomed as well as the importance of stabilizing your realm.

Lastly, you only needed to fill your muscles to the brim with spiritual energy.

To reach the 5th realm, you’ll have to do more than just fill your skeleton with energy; you’ll need to be mentally and spiritually cultivated as well.

Your state of mind, the way you view the world, and many other things need an upgrade.

The Spirit path was never about filling yourself to get stronger; it was about advancing yourself.

Absorbing spiritual energy was just an aftereffect.

Each realm had more benefits for oneself than just being a mortal pumped with worldly might, as, in a nutshell, that was all it was about, if you failed to see deep, that is.

Each and every spirit path threader had more of a spiritual than power difference from mortals.

The way they were connected to the world, even if they seemed like humans, made them a step above everybody else.

They were the closest to understanding what life was all about than anyone else; after all, spiritual energy was a part of the world, and absorbing it only made one closer to truths, never farther.

If we remove all of this, they will become humans with barriers made of energy; once that energy is used up, they’re just mortals, nothing more, nothing less.

Deep down all cultivators knew of this, at least the Qi-refining ones, and in the end, this path wasn’t about becoming stronger; it was just an aftereffect.

That is why countless people out there struggled to come up with different paths; some did but never went far. After all, they were only individuals.

Still, put a first-stage qi refining against a human, and a single slap can burst the latter apart.

Put a cultivator against a philosopher, and a single word can make him shut up for life.

Their minds worked differently, their worldview was more refined, their path was harsher, and their demeanor was more noble than kings.

Ken only had one question in mind... where was the immortality part?
