Arthur exhaled. ’My mastery over black has improved slightly.’

A faint chill ran down his spine.

Just remembering his training with Thyra while relying solely on black sent a prickling unease through his limbs.

Aside from that, everything else remained unchanged.

No matter how much he tried, white never responded.

He couldn’t even conjure white in the first place.

While blue and yellow were at a Master’s level, it wasn’t due to spellcasting or weapon enhancement. It was due to the refinement of his dragon blood.

Even though he still couldn’t fully transform into his complete dragon or demonic dragon form like his mother or sisters, he could still tap into his partial dragon state.

In that form, he was comparable to a low-tier Master.

What had stunned Arthur the most during the first year after his training was his Authority: Godspell.

’More like an OP cheat.’

Yes, his dragon blood and bonded sword Star Cleaver were formidable.

But they paled in comparison to Godspell.

He tapped on the expand icon, and a large display glowed before him.

Ding!

Arthur exhaled slowly. He had already tested the limits of Godspell, and combined with his body’s constitution, it made him a walking mirror.

Not just a copycat, but nearly unkillable.

The rest of the stats were familiar.

The Family tab contained his immediate relatives. The Romantic tab listed his wives and love interests, which hadn’t changed in three years.

The Others list was too extensive for him to read even if he tried.

"Hey Cassie, can I ask you a favor?"

Cassie turned to him with a furrowed brow.

’Still looks like she’s coming to terms with being newly married,’ he thought, locking eyes with her. ’Well, what’s mine stays mine. No one can take that away.’

He quickened his pace to match hers. "Can you help me get the rune..." He paused, letting her glance his way. "Alone," he finished.

Cassie smiled thinly, her eyes narrowing with mild menace. "Is this how you treat your wives, husband?"

Arthur pressed his palms together in a pleading gesture. "No, but please. I still have an exam to take."

Cassie studied his expression, then exhaled through her nose. "Fine. I’ll bring it to your dorm."

"What if I fail?"

She didn’t even glance his way. "Then I’ll divorce you."

Something tugged at Arthur’s chest.

He suddenly felt the urge to fluster her before leaving.

"Baby."

The moment the word left his mouth, Cassie’s face flushed deeply as she stumbled for a response.

"Stop acting like I like you! W-we’re just in a contract marriage." She looked away. "Yes, that’s all it is."

Arthur grinned. "Thanks for making my day. Now, how do I get out of this place?"

------

"It’s about time their matches wrapped up," Lysandra murmured.

She closed her eyes briefly, as though peering through layers of magical projection to observe the duels.

"The matches are set," she said, twirling her finger like a conductor’s baton.

"From death to death. In real battle, heroes don’t get to rest."

Her blonde hair rippled despite the still air, her emerald eyes flashing pink.

"Yes... let’s make sure the kids have some fun."

She snapped her fingers.

In the next heartbeat, the world around the applicants twisted and vanished.

"This is going to be fun." One of her eyes returned to emerald, the other remained pink. "Let the test begin."

"Yes... the game of death."

------

In an instant and without warning, the applicants vanished from their original positions.

Some found themselves in a dense forest. Others were flung far beyond the academy grounds.

The moment they landed, drones sparked to life and flooded the sealed space with blinding lights, like miniature suns.

Holograms powered by magitech floated in various locations around the forest, while loudspeakers blasted cheers and screams from spectators watching in a grand arena outside.

["Testing... the microphone... Speak two, Speak two."]

The crowd fell silent, then erupted in deafening roars as soon as the faces of the participants appeared on giant floating screens.

["WELCOME ONE AND ALL to the Central Academy’s Entrance Combat TEST!"]

The noise swelled again, frenzied and electric.

One of the screens zoomed in on two students standing with microphones.

["I’m your commentator, Janica! And beside me is my ever-shy assistant—"]

("Daniel.")

["Come on, Danny, put a little heart into it. If we mess this up, our grades are toast, remember?"]

("Ugh~ Fine... I’ll try.")

["That’s the spirit! Now, without further ado—we bring you the most anticipated festival of the decade!"]

She took a long, theatrical pause.

["The class that stole away the seventh generation and made it their own... The Generation of Miracles: BATTLE ROYALE!"]
