Chapter 996 - 45 Dilemma

Chapter 996: Chapter 45 Dilemma

The Armored Humvee roared through the starship, wildly racing, the six Conquerors of the Instant Noodle Team had no idea why Tang Zheng let them go first. Aside from his deeply rooted image as a foolishly good person, they were all excited, eager to meet with Group Leader Su Han.

"No, we need to calm down, or something bad will happen!" Tong Ping was after all a Third-order, able to keep his cool.

"What could go wrong? You and Ah Meng can take down most people. After spending a few days with the Warhammer Team, how come even you have become so timid?" Xu Nian was still hung up on Qin Yan, not having the chance to vent his frustration on Tang Zheng made him disgruntled.

"Better safe than sorry," Su Ameng glanced at the somewhat crowded carriage and had Zheng Xiaxia stop the car, "It’s best if we split up into two vehicles; even if we’re ambushed, we’ll ensure not everyone gets wiped out in one fell swoop."

"Let’s do as Ah Meng says," Tong Ping decided, and the others had to comply, Lin Chen and Zeng Fanghai were simply miserable, tasked with scouting the road ahead in their vehicle.

"Time to go, move out!" After a half-hour break, Dantai shouted, urging the newbies to board the vehicles.

The newbies were still sitting by the campfire, looking confused and moving slowly.

"What are you spacing out for? You only have a minute to get on board, no waiting for stragglers!" With Dantai’s roar, the Conquerors got up at their fastest speed and ran towards their respective vehicles.

The engines roared deafeningly, and the newbies finally snapped to attention and ran towards the bus. A few couldn’t bear to leave behind the hot water in their canned food, drinking as they ran and splashing it everywhere.

Dantai and Shen Qingshuang rode in the Beetle as the vanguard. There wasn’t much danger, they only had to follow the trail left by the Instant Noodle Team.

The Silver Trojan’s Handheld Radar was extremely tricky, with no indicated search range. They had to figure out all its functions by trial and error, luckily it had no self-destruct setting, otherwise the survivors would have been blown to pieces.

"There’s no need to rush into the battle circle so soon. Right now, Su Han is definitely the target of the enemy, let them knock themselves out," Teng Yuangxiang was even more treacherous, wanting to show her worth, "At worst, we’ll just snatch the mission items from someone else’s hands. I think in this kind of melee, that thing will definitely change hands several times."

"Although Su Han won, I think he will regret it. This mission is basically putting him on a spit and roasting him. As the mission’s focal point and the prey of several Trojan Squads, he has no chance to cheat and be sneaky; he can only keep fighting, wiping out all his pursuers to win, while the other teams can adapt on the fly and devise strategies." Lu Fan surmised the task schedule, feeling relieved, "Luckily we were half a step slow. If we had given it our all, with the mixed-group’s capabilities, we could definitely have acquired the item, and then we would be the unlucky ones."

"Is this what they call ’No good deed goes unpunished’?" Xu Biyun joked, feeling ecstatic. It sure was refreshing to see others in trouble.

"Not necessarily. It’s possible that the battle could enter the Stalemate Stage. The other teams aren’t stupid; they all wait for others to make sacrifices first, to wear down Su Han’s strength. This actually gives him a chance to catch his breath. However, if it drags on too long, it will inevitably be to our advantage." Tang Zheng considered problems thoroughly. It was just a shame that some people’s minds didn’t work well and they couldn’t predict actions based on common sense.

Less than an hour later, a mixed Nepalese squad caught up with Su Han’s group in an Armored Humvee and launched an attack on them.

The Nepalese were shouting and firing AK47s without concern for aiming. The guy manning the vehicle-mounted M2 Heavy Machine Gun was also useless. With bullet casings flying, he fired over a hundred rounds, the closest one still half a meter away from the target.

Ruan Feifei and Yu Manli, who were best at slacking, would definitely not take the initiative to attack if the battle situation was unclear, always conserving their strength. Su Han, as the Group Leader and a good person, stopped immediately, turned around, and shouldered his gun to fire.

A black Gravity Ball whistled out, striking the Hummer’s front and engulfing it like a celestial dog devouring the moon, immediately leaving a chunk missing and exposing the engine inside.

The Humvee lost control and before the driver could hit the brakes, it slammed into a nearby wall.

Three Nepalese jumped from the vehicle, but the machine gunner hadn’t left his seat when a Magnetic Storm Ball struck his upper body and instantly exploded him into a bloody mess.

"Why aren’t you attacking?" Cai Lan crouched down, shooting at the Nepalese, simultaneously questioning Yu Manli’s group. The remaining twelve newbies rushed past him in haste.

Yu Manli ignored her completely, didn’t reply, but stopped shooting instead. From the opponents’ performance, she could tell they were all newbies with no real threat, making it safe to attack.

Ruan Feifei and Gu Xueqi also joined the combat, their responses just as quick, while Sha Ou scratched his head in embarrassment, ashamed of his slacking behaviour.

"All newbies, useless bunch." Su Han regretted acting too hastily, damaging the Humvee which would have served as a means of transport.

A group firing their guns randomly, all with S-grade firearms, two Nepalese hadn’t even made it into the adjacent carriage before being turned into mincemeat. Another actually activated his ability, sweeping his hands and a black mist rushed out, engulfing the entire passage like a tsunami.

"Fall back!" Su Han had just shouted when he saw Yu Manli’s group had already swiftly retreated, causing him to frown. These guys were always holding back, saving more than half of their energy to escape.

"Could there be poison?" Ruan Feifei pulled out a Gas Mask, putting it over her head, while also raising a Riot Shield.

Su Han glanced at the space wristwatch on the anchorwoman’s wrist and then looked at the others, feeling depressed. Even group members like Sha Ou and Gu Xueqi, who weren’t Conquerors, had one. Just how generous was their group leader? He didn’t believe that it was Sha Ou’s ability that captured such a precious special prop—clearly, it was given by their team.

"You’re really on your guard," Cai Lan said jealously, admiring their reaction ability and how they always seemed to be one step ahead. "But do you all enjoy slacking off so much? Hasn’t your group leader blown his top?"

"No," Yu Manli replied, suddenly realizing that Tang Zheng had indeed been very kind to them, never even getting angry. She couldn’t help feeling regretful for having let down her group leader’s intentions.

"To think there would come a day when you’d regret it!" Xueqi curled her lip in disdain, looking down on the mature woman’s character. She was merely exhausting Tang Zheng’s trust in them.

While the Black Mist had not yet dissipated, hundreds of arrows were shot out, pinning towards the mixed team.

With a single sweep of his arm, Sha Ou’s telekinesis was activated, and the arrows were struck as if by a giant hand, all colliding with the wall. However, the second volley of arrows immediately followed.

The female anchor could endure, not releasing any lightning, with even her shooting becoming sporadic to save bullets.

Facing someone like this, Su Han felt helpless and couldn’t even get angry. If the other party ran away, he would be even more passive.

Su Han held his gun with one arm and fired, while his left hand grasped the air, and the wall to the left rapidly melted into a liquid state, pouring into the passage, then quickly solidified.

As the Black Mist cleared, one could see a collection of steel-filled mannequins, looking like wax figures, lying irregularly scattered.

Su Han’s ability was to liquefy and solidify, allowing any non-living material to change between liquid and solid states, integrating offense and defense.

The surviving Nepalese man was stunned for a moment, shouting a few words before activating his ability again. Black Mist swept out anew, and this time, the group saw exactly who was shooting the arrows—the Scottish longbowmen. However, all of them were lifeless puppets.

Sha Ou waved his hand, his telekinesis grabbing one to smash it against the wall.

"Don’t waste life energy; these guys can’t stand bullets," said the mature woman as she fired, knocking down a group.

The Nepalese man became frightened and turned to run. At the same time, a large number of puppet longbowmen appeared behind him, serving as a human wall and meat shield.

As Su Han raised his gun to harvest this head, he saw Gu Xueqi release a spark which turned into a fist-sized Flame Phoenix. Singing loudly, it dodged past the human wall and flew towards the Nepalese man, colliding with his head.

Boom, the Nepalese man’s head exploded, and the human wall instantly collapsed.

Cai Lan’s mouth twitched, these people were not only treacherous but also extremely good at seizing combat opportunities. Working with them made him feel an intense sense of defeat.

"I don’t want the spoils of war. You all clean up the battlefield," Gu Xueqi generously offered, having deemed the newbie’s possessions unworthy, and at the same time, she gained favor.

Cai Lan immediately had a much better impression of Gu Xueqi.

"No wonder the enemy has been chasing us so recklessly, shouting and hollering—they turned out to be an ability user," Ruan Feifei put away her equipment. "How great would it be if all our enemies were as foolish as that Nepalese man?"

"Group leader, we must find Tong Ping and Ah Meng as soon as possible." After spending a minute cleaning up the battlefield, Cai Lan urged them to get moving, feeling very anxious. He felt he couldn’t rely on these Warhammer team members.

"Everyone, stop running and rest on the spot." Instead of agreeing, Su Han ordered the team to rest. Continuing to run would deplete too much energy. A sudden encounter would surely lead to disaster.

"What kind of person is Tang Zheng? Give me a brief," insisted Su Han, although he had already asked once. But he had a hunch—if the other side waited for him to die before making a move, their advantage would be undoubtedly greater.

"A hopelessly nice guy," Ruan Feifei and the mature woman looked at each other and replied in unison. They were very scheming, and after running for so long, they also had their own awakenings.

"Alright, rest for ten minutes, then quickly regroup with your group leader." Su Han smiled warmly, making it feel like a spring breeze, but in his heart, he was almost on fire with urgency. He had given up any hope for Tang Zheng, merely wanting to keep the mature woman’s team stable. If they sensed something was wrong and left, he and Cai Lan would be in even greater danger.

Su Han’s team was miserable, running into a proud and conceited Korean mixed team. In the eyes of these men, no one else was a match for them, and they were very dissatisfied with letting the Chinese team win two missions, stewing with frustration. Therefore, in the ensuing encounter, Su Han’s team was immediately struck a heavy blow. (To be continued.
