Chapter 899: Chapter 52 The Fifth Ability’s Fierce Attack
Near the insect nest, on the main battlefield, the scene was in complete disarray, with broken corpses everywhere. Under the bombardment of the Heavenly Eye, more than ten thousand bugs had perished, and the thick scent of blood soared into the sky, nearly suffocating.
After nearly five minutes of combat, Landeck finally tipped the balance completely in his favor. Watching Tang Zheng being knocked away and rolling in a pool of blood, the German Group Leader sneered with satisfaction.
"What are you so proud of? It took you so long, with a Fourth Order and two Third Orders, to barely defeat a single Third Order, just inflicting heavy damage. Don’t you find that embarrassing?" Lena’s frustration was beyond words; in order to deal with the overwhelming swarm of insects, she continuously controlled Heavenly Eye to release shock waves, consuming a lot of her life energy, and she too had been injured in the joint attack of Tang Zheng’s clones and the warriors.
"Sara, fight!" Landeck roared in fury, but Lena was stating facts that he couldn’t refute. Tang Zheng had too many life-saving techniques, and was too damn resilient!
"Are you implying that I was slacking? I’m injured!" Sara yelled back at Lena. Indeed, she was hurt, but with full force, she could still take down the War Hawk of Ou State; however, she resorted to playing little tricks.
"Stop the chatter and fight!" Lena shouted, angry. The battle here had long been discovered by others, and if they continued to drag this out, they might fail at the last step.
"What’s the rush? Can’t you see this kid is about to die?" Sara objected, but she too felt it was almost time to make a move, to deliver a sure kill. Starring Beauty was best at reaping the rewards when enemies and bosses were on the brink of death.
Gulping for air, every breath Tang Zheng took caused a tearing pain in his lungs, while his vision was obscured by blood.
Were it not for the clones summoned by the Mother Empress’ Crystal Heart taking one-third of the damage, plus the Tyrannosaurus Protective Clothing, Tang Zheng would have long been gravely wounded on the verge of death. As it was, he wasn’t much better off, with his SS-level Protective Clothing completely shattered and rendered useless, a kidney blasted out, his left hand missing half of its palm, and blood dripping from wounds all over his body.
Nevertheless, Tang Zheng’s achievements in battle weren’t bad either. His clones and warriors together had destroyed Lena’s Hellfire, leaving her with minor injuries and considerable exhaustion. Sara’s arm was broken and she was missing an eye, while Landeck wasn’t gravely injured but had his two S-level Shields destroyed and his protective clothing torn, bearing a deep, bone-visible wound on his chest—an unspeakable disgrace for him, being challenged by a Third Order when he should have completely crushed him.
"I’m going to die here, aren’t I?" Slow to dodge because of his heavy injuries, Tang Zheng was struck and sent flying again, unable to last even a minute in his current state.
"Suit-man, you’re back? How did it go?" Sara was about to attack but paused upon seeing Suit-man’s return, somewhat on guard.
"Of course I killed them." Suit-man scoffed, glancing at Sara before focusing on Tang Zheng.
"If I remember correctly, the opposition was just a weakling and a little girl. How did you end up like this?" Seeing the pitiful state of Suit-man, Sara couldn’t help but sneer.
Lena frowned worriedly at him, but Heavenly Eye kept attacking, shooting beams of light and bombarding Tang Zheng.
"Hey, what do you think this is?" Suit-man shot Sara a glare, then menacingly turned to Tang Zheng, holding up a severed limb in his hand.
Tang Zheng’s expression tightened, sensing trouble.
"I intended to bring back that little girl’s corpse for you, but this is all that’s left, sorry about that." Suit-man tossed the severed shoulder and calf onto the ground, feigning helplessness with a shrug.
"I’m going to slay you!" Tang Zheng roared, his eyes suddenly bloodshot, and he exploded with rage, lunging at Suit-man.
With a single swing, Landeck aimed for Tang Zheng’s back. The man didn’t dodge, instead charging headlong at Suit-man, adding another wound to his already battered body.
Enraged, Tang Zheng nearly crushed his teeth, as a massive amount of Red Mist surged out of his body, enveloping him entirely, turning his skin hard like that nourished by a hot spring.
"You’re the one who’s going to die!" Suit-man, unafraid of the severely injured Tang Zheng, antagonistically flipped him the middle finger. But in the next instant, Tang Zheng vanished from where he was, leaving behind a faint afterimage and appearing beside Suit-man, punching him square in the face.
With a boom, Suit-man was sent flying.
"Kill him quick, he’s about to explode into Hero Mode!" Seeing the abundant Red Mist around Tang Zheng slowly return to his body, Lena was shocked; that was a sign of a Fourth Order outbreak.
"Suit-man, your cleverness has backfired," Sara shouted in reproach, not wasting any more time, she attacked with full force, "interrupt him; in such a wounded state, he won’t be able to blow."
Heavenly Eye concentrated its energy once again, blasting a thick light beam towards Tang Zheng.
Bang, Tang Zheng’s clone shattered, turning into a shield and emerging on his body to withstand the round of onslaught.
"Damn it!" Tang Zheng was furious; due to his severe injuries, he could barely reach the doorstep of Hero Mode, let alone enter it in such a weakened state.
Sara, her body a blur with an afterimage, rushed to Tang Zheng’s side to commence attack, her S-grade Western Sword repeatedly thrusting, the shield wavering as if about to shatter.
Lena also stopped caring about the bugs, focused on taking down Tang Zheng first, and Landeck, needless to say, his Vampire Curved Knife flipping up and down, each strike aiming for vital points.
