Chapter 820: Chapter 79: What Can Save You?

Tang Zheng had just helped Ai Yixin up when the teleportation began, and within ten seconds, they could see the familiar pale white walls of the Trojan Room, dreary and devoid of any signs of life.

"Trojan, hurry up and heal our wounds," Yu Manli yelled at the black cube on the floor. As for Ruan Feifei, lying on the floor, she had no strength left to speak and was on the verge of death.

Except for Pang Meiqin, the others weren’t in much better shape. The entire team had been completely crippled. Had it not been for the Beautiful Leg Stewardess’s last-minute summoning of the Monkey King to seal the deal, the Hammer Squad would have faced the consequences of a team annihilation involving half its members this time in the game.

After Dantai was the last one to be teleported into the room, the cube’s screen lit up and started to rotate as it floated up into midair.

"Toys, congratulations on killing the Demonic Shadow Daimyo Oda Nobunaga and completing the Midnight Demonic Shadow, safely returning. Now let’s start repairing your bodies."

A white light enveloped the survivors, and even Ruan Feifei’s near-fatal wounds visibly healed within three seconds.

Tang Zheng furrowed his brows and noticed a small problem. Although the Trojan occasionally indulged in the evil taste of delaying healing to let survivors suffer from their injuries longer, it never let them die.

Tang Zheng had guessed right. As long as the survivors were in the room, the Trojan had to ensure they wouldn’t die. That was a rule it had to follow unless the survivors didn’t have enough points to heal their wounds.

"Yixin, why aren’t you healing?" Li Xinlan recovered a bit and saw Ai Yixin leaning against the wall in pain, staring blankly at her hands as if she was fighting an intense battle within, while blood seeped through her Protective Clothing.

"The child might not be able to be saved," Pang Meiqin muttered quietly. Even with the defense of the Platinum Queen, it was impossible not to suffer any harm. Besides, the constitution of a pregnant wife was too fragile. Nearly two weeks of non-stop toil with almost no rest, plus the heavy damage from the final battle, it was already not easy to save her life; to hope to keep the child was wishful thinking.

"Don’t worry, the Trojan will heal the fetus," Yu Manli comforted, though she knew this was unrealistic. The others remained silent because everyone understood that without Chu Baichuan’s protection, the pregnant wife would not survive the next round, unless she terminated the pregnancy.

"But there’s less than a month left until the child is born," Lu Fan said, holding Tang Zheng’s hand, somewhat unable to bear seeing the little life pass away before being born.

"A cesarean section can be done," Ruan Feifei said, struggling to give a suggestion.

"That would be too damaging for the child, a lifetime of frail health, there’s no escape from that," Yu Manli, being experienced, had a deep understanding of the dangers of premature birth.

"We have the Trojan. It can heal," Lu Fan said, but even she was not confident in her words, as Ai Yixin was lacking the points needed, let alone spare any for healing a fetus.

"Then let’s give birth to the child, we’ve persevered for so long, a few more days won’t make a difference," Yao Feng, ever the fantasist, didn’t think before speaking and took things for granted.

"Do you think the due date can be timed to the exact day? What if labor occurs in the middle of a game, then what? Just wait to die?" Ruan Feifei frowned. Chu Baichuan’s departure really left a big problem for the team, and she couldn’t help but look towards Tang Zheng, wondering what decision he would make.

Before Tang Zheng could speak, Ai Yixin already showed a bitter smile, looking towards him.

"Thank you all for your concern. I’ve already made my decision." Ai Yixin was pale as she adjusted the hair that fell in front of her forehead and looked towards the black cube, "Trojan, help me terminate my child’s life."

"Are you sure about your decision?" The Trojan didn’t immediately proceed, hoping to persuade her to change her mind; a team with a pregnant member would be more interesting.

"What other choice is there? Repairing a pregnant body already costs more points, and giving birth to the child, how can you assure the two hundred points per round? Are you going to increase Ai Yixin’s points for leaving the room to twenty thousand? Even so, what can she do with an infant? Low-intensity combat could even lead to infant mortality." Pang Meiqin vented her frustration at the cube, which was being mischievously cruel, outright trying to kill them all.

"Maybe it’s better to terminate, that way we can focus on earning points to resurrect Chu Baichuan. Ten thousand points isn’t that much," Yu Manli consoled Ai Yixin, truth be told, she didn’t want the team burdened with a pregnant wife.

"Correction, resurrecting Chu Baichuan requires twenty thousand points. That’s a hefty mission," the Trojan mocked, wanting to see if Ai Yixin would despair upon hearing such a large number of points, but it was disappointed. The wife showed no expression; she wouldn’t let it have its way with its evil taste.

"I’ve decided to terminate the pregnancy; get on with it!" Ai Yixin’s tone was ice-cold, unwavering once she made a decision.

White light shone on Ai Yixin, her injuries healed, and her originally protruding belly began to deflate. A fetus, enveloped in a red light, floated out from above her stomach, suspended in mid-air, connected only by an umbilical cord.

Everyone was stunned by the scene, not certain if the Trojan was deliberately provoking them or if there was another intention behind it.

Ai Yixin watched her son, unable to stop her tears any longer, as they flooded her cheeks. She reached out her hand, wanting to caress the curled-up infant, but the Silver Trojan allowed her no chance. With a snap, the umbilical cord broke and the fetus was teleported away.

Clutching her cheeks, Ai Yixin broke down in tears.

Tang Zheng’s fists were clenched tightly, his veins bulging out. His lips, pressed together, had a trace of blood oozing from them. Why did everyone have to suffer this pain? All this talk about opportunities for resurrection, but how many people could actually leave the Trojan Room alive? Just as the Trojans had said, the survivors were nothing more than their toys.

"Just wait, I will definitely find the puppeteer pulling the strings and blow their brains out." Tang Zheng initially wanted to accumulate enough points to leave, but at that moment, thinking of brothers like An Ping and Liu Yue, suddenly, he didn’t want to leave anymore. He wanted to destroy all the Trojan Rooms in the world and put an end to these cruel games.

"If I don’t beat the crap out of the mastermind behind the Trojan, I won’t live in peace for the rest of my life." Tang Zheng exhaled deeply, deciding to calm himself down and do everything in his power to qualify for the Holy Land. He felt that there, he might find the answers.

"Trojan, where are you taking the fetus?" Lu Fan pouted, displeasedly staring at the Trojan, "What evil plan are you hatching now?"

"No comment. The scoring will now begin." The Trojan ignored Little Lolita, as survivor portraits appeared on the screen, spinning like a carousel before finally stopping on Ai Yixin.

"Housewife, aborting was a wise choice, otherwise you would’ve definitely died. The departure of the little life finally lets me breathe a sigh of relief. Otherwise, a pregnant woman giving birth in the Trojan Room would have been my disgrace since there has never been a precedent. Don’t be sad. Children can be born aplenty, heh heh, but just like no two leaves are completely alike in this world, there will never be another baby exactly like yours. You receive seven hundred points, reward one Black Iron Seed, D-level evaluation."

The Trojan was essentially stabbing Ai Yixin in the heart and continuing to pour salt in the wound.

"Look at you, so pathetic, can’t even earn points, first worry about staying alive." The Trojan mocked the housewife, and then the portrait stopped on Yao Feng.

"Love indeed makes people foolish. You’d rather keep being immature. Sold out but still counting money for someone else with glee, it’s pitiful. You have a peculiar taste in love, but by sheer luck, you managed to survive. However, your dumb luck might just be at its end. You receive twelve hundred points, reward one Bronze Seed, D-level evaluation."

Yao Feng was indifferent to it all, his mind preoccupied with finding excuses to strike up a conversation with Pang Meiqin or even asking her out for dinner.

"Oh, you killed a newbie, so young man, a thousand points will be deducted." The Trojan added, to everyone’s astonishment.

Gu Xueqi and Sha Ou became even more wary of Yao Feng, and of course, Pang Meiqin wouldn’t miss such an opportunity to gain favor, quickly explaining.

"He was helping me."

"So what if it’s a thousand points? It’s no big deal." Yao Feng put on an indifferent expression, thinking he looked cool, which would win Pang Meiqin’s admiration, more important than anything else.

Ruan Feifei pursed her lips, and including Lu Fan, everyone muttered ’idiot’ under their breath. Not surprisingly, Yao Feng was being used by others.

"Red, you actually survived, I must say, your instinct to avoid danger is top-notch, but everything else is mediocre to the extreme, you are a waste to the extreme as well. A word of warning for you, because of your cowardice, Tang Zheng has already abandoned you. You’d better start thinking of countermeasures early, or else you’re sure to die in the next round. You receive seven hundred points, reward one Black Iron Seed, D-level evaluation."

"Tang Zheng, it’s not like that, listen to me," Red startled by the Trojan’s announcement, immediately ran to Tang Zheng’s side and grabbed his arm, wanting to explain herself.

"I understand, everyone gets scared. Just do better next time." Tang Zheng replied indifferently, with a smile warming like a spring breeze, his acting worthy of an Oscar statuette. He even managed to fool Gu Xueqi and Ruan Feifei, but Yu Manli and Dantai stared deeply at Tang Zheng; they didn’t buy these lies at all.

"Timid, shy, incompetent Jing Xiang, you actually achieved a climax under Tang Zheng’s ’grooming.’ You truly are a masochist at heart, destined to be a female slave. Hurry and get yourself some Bunny Girl outfits, serve Tang Zheng well, and perhaps you’ll survive a few more rounds. You receive fifteen hundred points, reward one Bronze Seed, C-level evaluation."

Hearing this evaluation, Jing Xiang’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment, nearly bleeding, while other women’s gazes lingered on Tang Zheng, speculating what could have happened between them.

Tang Zheng, uninterested in clarifications, urged the Trojan to continue.

"He doesn’t seem like that kind of person, could he be a righteous-looking beast?" Gu Xueqi found she could no longer read Tang Zheng and didn’t believe the Trojan would lie.

"Ah, the insane high school student died; I actually had high hopes for him." The Trojan sighed, drawing more hate towards Tang Zheng, "Tang Zheng, why would you suppress such a promising newbie?"
