Chapter 810: Chapter 73 Wind, Forest, Fire, and Mountain
Tang Zheng took a running leap toward the third floor, but as soon as he was airborne, dozens of arrows shot towards him. The Light Defense Shield unfolded, deflecting them all, yet a dozen warriors suddenly sprang from Takeda Shingen’s side and leaped down, drawing their Tachi and slashing at his skull.
Jing Xiang wanted to launch an attack, but worried she might injure Tang Zheng, hesitated, and in that moment, the Group Leader was overwhelmed.
"Warrior." Tang Zheng retreated several steps, drawing his Samurai Sword to block the blades that closed in on him, and summoned the warrior.
The strong warrior appeared directly behind Takeda Shingen at the top of the Castle Tower, swinging a Warhammer and smashing it down on its body.
Clang, Takeda countered with his Gunpei, blocking the Warhammer, then cleaved it across its chest.
Truly worthy of a Daimyo, the strong Takeda used one hand to fend off the warrior’s offensive; its other hand didn’t stop either. Seeing Tang Zheng continuously launching his retainers into flight, it waved its Gunpei, and a massive ’Mountain’ character shot out, then disintegrated into smoke, seeping into the nostrils of the nearby Demonic Shadows.
The monsters’ Armor immediately doubled in thickness, shimmering with radiance, but their mobility didn’t seem to be impeded in the slightest.
"Tang Zheng, you go kill the BOSS!" Ruan Feifei fluttered like a butterfly on the Tower’s rooftop, evading the warriors’ attacks, her hands unleashing electricity to blast them away.
Li Xinlan also started blocking these minions to free up Tang Zheng’s combat power.
After stabbing a warrior in the neck with his Samurai Sword and turning it into a cloud of Black Mist, Tang Zheng stepped on the skull of another warrior and jumped to the top, finally facing Takeda Shingen for the first time.
Without any hesitation, Tang Zheng activated his Seed Ability to burst mode, first stage, second stage, and then his body was engulfed in a blood-red mist as he powerfully charged at Takeda Shingen. His physical strength was now overtaxed, and he had to fight quick and decisive battles; dragging it out would certainly result in his own death.
"Xin Lan, Ruan Feifei, protect Gu Xueqi," Tang Zheng couldn’t help but worriedly instruct, knowing that as long as Gu Xueqi lived, she could keep the team’s combat power intact.
With a Tachi in one hand and his Gunpei in the other, Takeda Shingen fended off the assaults from Tang Zheng and the warrior. Takeda then fanned with his Gunpei, firing a massive ’Wind’ character, which splintered into countless tiny wind characters. A bone-chilling breeze immediately swept toward the Castle Tower, and numerous fist-sized tornadoes pummeled Tang Zheng, striking sparks off the Light Defense Shield.
The fringes of the tornadoes seemed covered with razors, slashing the warrior’s Armor to tatters.
The same ’Wind’ character displayed different effects in the hands of Takeda Shingen; if Xu Liangmao had been in his place, he would have certainly been minced into Broken Flesh.
The Gunpei swung again, this time casting a ’Mountain’ character over Takeda himself. The Warhammer’s impact was repelled, and the Samurai Sword could only pierce a little closer but failed to injure Takeda in the slightest.
The two floors just below were also a chaotic battle zone, but regrettably, so many warriors entangled Li Xinlan and others that they simply couldn’t break through.
The Daimyo then shot out a ’Forest’ character which, after shattering, conjured a large group of Mirage-like cavalry that appeared out of nowhere and then charged, sweeping over the Castle Tower.
This time, it wasn’t just Tang Zheng; every member of the Trojan Squad on the Castle Tower felt as if their skulls had been struck by a Siege Hammer, suffering agonizing headaches, their nerves nearly snapping.
Seizing the opportunity, the warriors attacked. Sha Ou received a cut to his abdomen and staggered a few steps. Seeing a Samurai Sword descending on Li Bo’s skull, Sha Ou, horrified, dashed over to block the blow, but he was a moment too late.
The sharp blade struck Li Bo’s neck, and a young head tumbled away, blood spurting like a fountain onto the rooftop.
"Li Bo." Sha Ou’s eyes bulged with rage. He and his brothers had raided gold stores and banks, hoping to live a happier, less miserable life, but in the end, it was all for naught. Filled with brotherhood, his square face felt he had let them down. This extreme anger almost triggered the burst mode, but still, he failed to activate it.
Ruan Feifei and Yu Manli watched this scene with utmost envy. That guy was just a Newbie, yet within less than a week of obtaining his Seed Ability, he was already on the verge of entering burst mode. Undoubtedly, this guy was bound to become a Powerful Party.
However, Sha Ou wished to atone with his death, feeling he had caused the demise of his four brothers.
"Help me," Sister Hong begged through tears. She was injured and could barely defend herself; if it weren’t for her Ability to create a clone, she would have been killed long ago.
Song Huiqiao, Dongzi, and the Lip ring girl, these three Newbies who were with Tang Zheng’s squad, were struggling. But as far as they had come, aside from Dongzi, the other two women were covered in wounds.
The Lip ring girl, a bit unlucky with her fear of heights and dodging attacks, missed her footing and fell, tumbling down the rooftop, vomiting blood, her chest almost crushed. Before she could get up, a horde of warriors rushed up and hacked her into Broken Flesh, beyond recognition.
"Give me a Seed, if I eat it and activate my Ability, I can be of great help," Dongzi pleaded for a Seed, unaware that eating it would necessitate forced sleep, so no one paid any attention to him.
Dongzi felt like vomiting blood with frustration. If reality was unfair, that was one thing, but why did the Trojan World have to be the same? Why should he be exploited by the Conquerors, act upon their will?
After the ’Wind’ tornadoes passed, everyone was injured. Gu Xueqi immediately cast the Flame Phoenix into their bodies to heal their wounds.
Tang Zheng and Takeda Shingen were at a standoff, he wanted to inflict heavy damage on the daimyo before using the Great Saint Tattoo, but now, it seemed like a bit of wishful thinking.
Seeing that he couldn’t kill Tang Zheng in one move, Takeda was dissatisfied and suddenly drew back. His Gunpei rapidly swung, and four characters shot out.
"Wind! Forest! Fire! Mountain!"
The entire Castle Tower was enveloped, and then Tang Zheng and his companions suddenly found themselves on a grassy plain, facing countless warriors in red armor, the battle lines stretching to the horizon.
Stirring horn sounds echoed across the plain, and then the cavalry began to charge. Between heaven and earth, only the thunderous roar of iron hoofs remained, rushing toward them like a torrential flood.
"Sun Wukong, come out!" Tang Zheng roared, and a streak of golden light burst from the back of his hand, instantly transforming into the figure of the Monkey King.
Upon his arrival, he threw the Ruyi Golden Cudgel, which grew immensely large, rolling over the cavalry formation and blasting a gigantic hole through it.
At such times, no one could help, and one could only rely on oneself, with the Conquerors’ strength and weakness utterly exposed in an instant.
Exhausted though he was, Chu Baichuan was still holding on with his mighty Seed Ability. Each time he dropped a bomb with added explosive power, it would blow a dozen or so cavalrymen into the air. Ai Yixin, enduring physical discomfort, piloted the cars to her limit.
Li Hongda was crafty and figured that Chu Baichuan would go to any length to protect his wife and fight to the death, so he followed to benefit from the situation. The balding superior had the same idea, but unfortunately, Dantai forcefully dragged him away.
Xu Liangmao was in grave danger, with poor adaptability due to years of rigid work, and his thinking was as stiff as ever. He was caught in a dire situation by six hundred cavalrymen.
"Want to die, eh? Drive faster!" Zhao Feng, with the Howling Reaper in hand, fired at the pursuing cavalry. Seeing his imminent death, he didn’t care about Xu Liangmao’s status as a Conqueror.
Xu Liangmao turned the steering wheel sharply, veering onto another road, trying to escape. Zhao Feng, seeing the cavalry raising their iron cannons to volley, was about to dodge when the car suddenly changed direction. Losing his footing, he tumbled to the side.
Hundreds of bullets flew, Zhao Feng’s body dodged them, but his head took a direct hit. In the blink of an eye, it was penetrated like a sieve, and his skull flew spinning over the carriage, crashing against the windshield with white brain pulp splattering everywhere.
Without even completing his last words, Zhao Feng died. Xu Liangmao threw his corpse out, detonated a bomb, and blew up a group of cavalrymen. The miserable man had decided that if caught up with, he would engage in melee combat first; if he couldn’t win, he would then release the Great Saint Tattoo.
In less than a minute, Xu Liangmao was blocked by the cavalry. Unable to break through the encirclement, he summoned Sun Wukong.
The Great Sage truly was powerful. Swinging the Golden Cudgel, he struck the Demonic Shadow Cavalry’s bodies, causing fractures and deformities until they disintegrated into black mist and death.
"Who should I help?" In the end, Xu Liangmao chose to run towards the Castle Tower, because only by killing Takeda Shingen would the mission end.
Although the Demonic Shadow Cavalry was much faster, Pang Meiqin, relying on her driving skills, weaved through the nearby streets and held on for a while. Seeing that she was about to be cut off and could not escape, she decisively abandoned the car and fled to a nearby building, with the male teacher and the short-haired man sprinting desperately.
"Hurry up, what are you dazing for?" Pang Meiqin didn’t care if the Demonic Shadow would chase after others; she focused on escaping this disaster first.
A volley of iron cannons, and Yao Feng’s right leg was hit, sending him tumbling to the ground.
Pang Meiqin turned to look and hesitated whether to go help him, but Yao Feng already cried out.
"Don’t mind me, you run!" The young man’s concern for Pang Meiqin came from the bottom of his heart.
Pang Meiqin cursed and ran back, grabbing Yao Feng’s collar and dragging him into the building. They managed to rush in first, and Pang Meiqin left a trail of bombs behind her, not even sparing the entrance, before setting them off. The door was blown away, but at least she bought some time.
The male teacher didn’t mind this; he was already waiting inside. When Pang Meiqin saw him covered in dust, she slapped him across the face.
The male teacher endured it, his gaze flashing with a hint of viciousness. Even if he were a good man, this cruel game was about to grind away all the kindness in his heart.
Dantai’s driving skills weren’t bad either, delaying for quite a while before abandoning the vehicle when trapped, and fleeing. The balding superior and Liu Liu also jumped out, fleeing behind him.
The balding superior was too fat, unused to such high levels of physical activity, breaking into a profuse sweat and nearly collapsing from exhaustion.
"Dantai, wait for me." Liu Liu, injured and treated, but still impeded in her movements, called out to Dantai, hoping for rescue. She chose him because Dantai was a man after all, and she wanted to use her advantage as a woman. Unfortunately, Dantai was as cold as ice, carrying Cheng Cheng in his arms, and did not respond to her pleas. (To be continued.
