Chapter 777: Chapter 40: Monster Grabbing
"We need to act quickly and find Mei Jueye." The old headmaster was worried that the high school students might do something irreversible and had no intention of stopping to take shelter from the rain. "I’ll drive if you’re tired."
"I’m not tired." This kind of rainy day had no effect on Tang Zheng, and the sounding of the radar alarm revitalized him. "Hehe, I believe we’ll run into the high school students soon."
Tang Zheng was beginning to see a pattern to the appearances of the demonic shadows. It seemed that the Silver Trojan targeted areas with few indigenous inhabitants and those with chaotic order, evidently aiming to reduce the impact and damage the Trojan Horse Games would have on the Indigenous World.
Like a predator shark, the black Lexus prowled the streets under the pouring rain. Tang Zheng wasn’t in a hurry to get on the road, as he knew he had plenty of time. Five minutes later, he found the aimless Shadow Demon Warrior, wandering near the Hikawa Shrine in Ikebukuro Honten.
Dressed in splendid black armor, the warrior remained untamed despite the heavy rain. His long-handled glaive glistened silver, brimming with an unbearable desire to pierce a prey’s heart.
Tang Zheng parked the car by the roadside, took out a bag of snacks, chewed slowly, and turned off the windscreen wipers to simulate an unattended scene.
"Why don’t you kill that monster? It poses a threat to the citizens." The old headmaster questioned Tang Zheng as the heavy rain obstructed their view through the windshield. Unable to see clearly, the headmaster turned on the wipers.
Tang Zheng frowned slightly but didn’t stop him. Having little in common with the outmoded old man and knowing that Mei Jueye would appear soon without detecting his presence, he didn’t feel the need to hide.
People didn’t have to wait long for Mei Jueye. A few minutes later, a white minivan drove by and stopped about fifty meters away from the Shadow Demon Warrior. A man in his thirties was pushed out. He was holding an MP38 submachine gun, and a long-handled M24 grenade poked out from his belt. Most startling of all was the dozen or so mineral water bottles strung together by Mei Jueye to form a waistcoat, which he wore over his body.
Tang Zheng’s vision was sharp. Seeing the yellow liquid filled in those water bottles, he knew it was gasoline.
"What is that Japanese man trying to do? Kill the monster?" The old headmaster didn’t understand, and tried earnestly to persuade Tang Zheng, "He is outmatched. Tang Zheng, you should save him."
"Mei Jueye’s tactics aren’t bad, crafting human incendiary bombs to take out the demonic shadow." Tang Zheng remained expressionless, sweeping his gaze over the minivan which was undoubtedly stuffed with Japanese people, all strapped with gasoline bottles and grenades.
Crippled with fear, the Japanese man had no control over his movement and was forced to launch a suicidal attack on the demonic shadow.
The Shadow Demon Warrior discovered the doomed man, chose not to waste his bronze cannon, and began to sprint forward, swinging his glaive to decapitate him.
The pop-pop-pop sound of gunfire rang out as the Japanese man emptied his MP38. The bullets sparked against the warrior’s armor, leaving small dents but not slowing down the advancing monster.
The oppressive figure of the warrior imposed a consuming fear upon the hapless man. He wanted to scream, but the words got stuck in his throat. What was most terrifying was his hand instinctively pulling the pin of the grenade.
Hisss, the pin was pulled, and white gunpowder poured out. After the Shadow Demon Warrior chopped off the doomed man’s head, a deafening explosion followed.
Boom, the corpse was blown to pieces. The explosion ignited the gasoline bottles, and flames immediately consumed the demonic shadow. But the rain’s downpour weakened the fire, and simple incineration wasn’t enough to kill the shadow.
Mei Jueye of course knew this, therefore another Japanese man was thrown out of the car. He, too, was strapped with a grenade along with seventy gasoline bottles, leaving him gasping for breath.
After probing the Shadow Demon Warrior’s resistance to bullets, the high school student avoided wasting more ammunition and shifted his tactics to suicide bombing with human incendiaries.
"We can’t let this go on. This is suicide, we must stop their madness." The old headmaster shook his head, clutching the car door, determined to stop the Japanese people from committing suicide.
"When you see Mei Jueye, don’t mention I’m here. But I will mention you to my team potentially accepting him." Tang Zheng reminded him subtly.
The old headmaster nodded, opened the car door, and rushed out into the rain.
Looking at the fading figure of the old man, Tang Zheng did not want to lie, so he gave an ambiguous promise. He would mention it, possibly just in passing. He never liked Mei Jueye, especially after seeing the human incendiary bombs, which was disgusting and revolting. This guy wasn’t just crazy, his humanity was twisted.
Boom, another explosion sounded, fragments of flesh and blood flew around, and the huge fireball engulfed the Shadow Demon Warrior, but he walked out of it just as quickly, searching for the enemy who attacked him.
Tang Zheng resisted the urge to save them and decided to stick to the plan. Even at his peak, Mei Jueye was no match for Tang Zheng. The Group Leader intended to exhaust his physical strength, and the high school student’s life energy was not infinite. A few more uses, and he would be exhausted. When a person gets tired, mistakes set in.
Tang Zheng tried to keep Mei Jueye stuck in this mired state, hoping to cause him to become anxious, unsettled, and enraged, even make a fatal mistake. Is he planning to kill directly? The group leader was unwilling to lose a thousand points.
Another Japanese man, enclosed in a vest made of petrol bottles, jumped off the vehicle. His face was full of fear as he rushed towards the Shadow Demon Warrior. This time the monster learned his lesson and took off his bronze cannon, opening fire on the Japanese man.
Hundreds of bullets shot towards him and despite Mei Jueye’s control allowing him to dodge most of them, his right arm was still broken. The mineral water bottle shattered and the petrol went up in flames, which then sparked fires on the other bottles. In the blink of an eye, the Japanese man was burnt into a living torch.
Under the control of Mei Jueye’s seed ability, he couldn’t make a single scream, but continued to charge, slamming into the Shadow Demon Warrior.
"Who’s next?" Mei Jueye watched all of this with a nonchalant expression, showing no emotional fluctuation, for him, these people were cannon fodder.
The high schooler looked through the carriage; he didn’t want to waste time. He cut the ropes binding a Japanese man’s hands. The man tried to resist but by the time he was thrown in front of Mei Jueye, he found his body not under his own control.
"Idiot, go die." Mei Jueye made him jump out of the vehicle door for a suicide attack on the Shadow Demon Warrior. He glanced at his wristwatch, killing a native citizen would increase his points of slaughter, this made him very happy.
"It seems I’m a genius in battle, this strategy can not only kill the demon, but it can also earn slaughter points, this is too perfect." Mei Jueye laughed contently, if only he could control everyone at once, he would like to pile up all these cannon fodder to exhaust the Shadow Demon Warrior.
The remaining seven Japanese people in the carriage watched the scene outside through the glass, their faces pale from fear, their bodies trembling, begging Mei Jueye for mercy.
The school principal ran to the unfortunate Japanese man, trying to stop him, but Mei Jueye’s face darkened, controlling his puppet, he punched him.
The old man was knocked to the ground, his nose gushing with blood.
"Mei Jueye, stop, they’re innocent, it’s not too late to turn back." The school principal struggled to his feet, rushed to the minivan, pounded on the glass, and yelled loudly.
"You bastard, do you want to attract the Shadow Demon Warrior?" Mei Jueye nearly exploded, the allure of survivors to the shadows was much greater than that of the indigenous inhabitants.
The high schooler quickly opened the car door and kicked the old principal in the stomach, "Get lost."
"Too late." Tang Zheng, sitting in the Lexus, watched coldly and threw the empty drink can out of the window.
The Shadow Demon Warrior spotted the school principal and immediately pounced, while also taking off his cannon and aiming at them.
"Damn, you rotten luck." Mei Jueye cursed, started the car, and took off. The school principal was knocked to the ground, and the two cannon fodder men were thrown off, falling into the rain, soaked through.
The two cannon fodder men thought they had been saved, trying to get up and run, but one of them immediately froze in place, turned around, and ran towards the Shadow Demon Warrior. His hands were tied and he couldn’t pull the grenade around his waist. But it didn’t matter, Mei Jueye held an MP40 and shot him into swiss cheese.
Boom, the cannon fodder exploded, scattering pieces of flesh.
Because the school principal fell, he miraculously avoided the Shadow Demon Warrior’s attack.
The unlucky Japanese men controlled by Mei Jueye, were like moths plunging into the fire, their bodies covered in petrol bottle vests, they charged at the Shadow Demon Warrior and perished together with it. Using this method, the high schooler’s safety was greatly assured, and he could even harvest soul shards. It’s even more leisurely than Qin Yan Dantai, and other powerful conquerors.
"It’s time to make a move." Noticing that the Shadow Demon Warrior, under the burn of the flame, was slow and about to die, Tang Zheng released the Furious Queen. Sophie and Alizeh ran in the rain, like ghosts, incredibly fast, leaving a trail of afterimages.
"Master, I’m all wet." Marilyn tapped the car window with her Lotus Finger and complained about Tang Zheng.
"First, bring back the soul shard." Tang Zheng opened the car window and passed a submachine gun out.
"Kill such a waste and change the gun?" Marilyn glanced contemptuously at the minivan not far away. She then suddenly leaned in, sticking her head through the car window and kissed Tang Zheng, sucking his tongue.
The gunman’s lips were soft, warm, and skilful. When Marilyn let go of Tang Zheng, the Shadow Demon Warrior was already lying on the ground, shattered into a patch of black mist, only leaving a soul shard.
Seeing this, Mei Jueye was overjoyed and was about to control his puppet to collect it when he saw a ghostlike gunman appear by the wreckage and pick it up with her delicate hand.
"Damn, it’s Tang Zheng." Mei Jueye’s heart skipped a beat, he thought Tang Zheng had come to kill him.(To be continued. If you like this work, please come to qidian.com to vote for it. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
