Slap, a crisp slap echoed in the hall, causing the newcomers to shudder involuntary.

The bald leader was on high ground, always towering over others, welcomed with smiles and submissive attitude by anyone who saw him. He had never been struck like this, so his domesticated official temper flared up. He glared with furious eyes, glaring at Tang Zheng.

"You..."

Slap, Tang Zheng backhanded him, cutting off his sentence.

The bald leader shivered in anger, the missing teeth making his speech whistle. He pointed a finger, pointing at Tang Zheng.

Slap, Tang Zheng swung his arm, another slap sent the bald leader spitting out a mouthful of blood foam.

"Almost fifty years old, still a leader, and not even as good as a little girl. Aren’t you ashamed?" Tang Zheng was very angry. These garbage newcomers only knew how to protect themselves, play tricks, and push others to death. They couldn’t be bothered to exert any effort.

The little girl squatted among the corpses, strenuously pushing a zombie off, picking up the rifle hidden beneath, slinging the strap over her shoulder, and then began to take off the ammo clip from him.

After all this, she made sure there were no valuable spoils of war, then the little girl stood up, searching for the next corpse. She had seven guns hanging on her, quite heavy. She was almost buried under her backpack, like a little squirrel busily storing food for the winter, staggering among the piles of corpses.

The little girl tripped and fell on top of a zombie with a hideous face. Looking at the face, missing its lower jaw and pale beyond measure, the little loli trembled in fear. But she didn’t complain, pursing her lips as she stood up, carefully picking up the ammo clip that had dropped into the pool of blood. She cleaned it and put it in her front backpack, continuing to search for supplies.

The survivors could see that the little girl was tired and scared. Her face was full of sweat and exhaustion, but she was still trying her best.

Several women looked shamefaced and lowered their heads.

"Don’t feel anything, right?" Tang Zheng walked towards the second leader, swung his hand and slapped him, then the third, and the fourth.

Seeing Tang Zheng’s raised arm, the woman in front was terrified, screaming, and covering her head.

"I don’t hit women. So, if you do this again next time, you should leave the team. There’s no place for you here." Tang Zheng walked over to Liu Qian, who was dressed in a suit, and slapped him hard.

Listening to the constant slaps in the hall, Chen Hong felt very satisfied. These newcomers deserved to be punished.

"Who are you to hit us?" Li Han, standing at the end of the line, saw Tang Zheng coming towards him and took the initiative to blame him, "We’re not bandits. We’re just ordinary people. Isn’t it normal to be afraid when facing these Nazi zombies? If you think we’re not doing enough, we can change. Why do you have to humiliate us?"

Tang Zheng looked down at Li Han, who had lost one eye, then kicked him.

Li Han was thrown into the puddle and slid a long way away.

"Are you trash? If you admit that you’re trash, I won’t say anything." Tang Zheng pointed at Gu Xueqi and then at Liu Liu, "They’re also newcomers, can’t you even match a woman?"

Tang Zheng’s line of sight swept over these newcomers, "If you want to slack off, go ahead. Get the hell out. Don’t expect to get any help from the team."

"Bah, I don’t believe that I can’t survive without the team." Li Han was completely furious. Coupled with the pain in his eye, he was delirious and impulsive, making the wrong decision. He was an elite, owning a factory and having more than twenty employees. When had he ever suffered like this? It was absolutely outrageous.

But Li Han was not a fool. He walked into the piles of corpses, picked up an MG42 machine gun and some grenades. He felt that with a gun, he could totally survive. Why should he suffer this humiliation?

"Who else wants to leave? Be my guest." Tang Zheng didn’t care about this guy.

The newcomers remained silent. If it weren’t for the Conquerors, they might have all died in front of Tobu Hall today.

"Wait a minute, you took the weapons by what right? Did you kill any of these zombies?" Chen Hong stopped Li Han, trying to find some superiority from these newcomers.

Li Han indeed had nothing to say, but giving up these firearms, he was reluctant, as they were a guarantee of survival.

"Forget it, let him take them." Tang Zheng waved his hand, no longer bothering with a small fry like Li Han. Even if Li Han took the weapons, he wouldn’t become a superman. Besides, he had to maintain his image. He can’t let the newcomers think he is petty.

"Two gold, three silver, and seven black iron." Qin Yan collected all the seeds and handed them to Tang Zheng for distribution.

In the attack and defense at the station hall, the Trojan Squad slaughtered over a thousand Nazi zombies, so this haul wasn’t too heft.

"Give the gold seeds to Bai Chuan and Fei Fei, and Xinlan gets two silver ones. The rest will be distributed based on kill count. I’ll pass on mine." With too few resources, Tang Zheng declined his share.

Ruan Feifei, receiving the seeds, took a glance at Tang Zheng. She thought she would only get a silver seed at most since she had betrayed him before, but it seemed he didn’t hold that against her.

"He really is a magnanimous man." Ruan Feifei concluded. This kind of man indeed had a unique aura that could make people bow to him.

"Brother Tang, you said that a newbie who kills at least ten zombies earns a seed," Li Bo couldn’t keep his cool, fighting for further benefits.

"Why are you butting in? If Brother Tang says he’ll give, he will. Look at your pettiness, isn’t it embarrassing?" Yao Feng mocked Li Bo. He had always been disgusted with such people.

"Sha Ou, Gu Xueqi, here’s your reward. As for how to use it, ask Bai Guo." Tang Zheng took two black iron seeds from his own pocket and handed them to Sha Ou and Gu Xueqi.

Both of them looked delighted as they received the seeds, which were shining beautifully with a halo.

"Brother Tang, we found a total of five Howling Reapers," Xu Biyun approached with a few MG3 Machine Guns on his back, along with several ammunition boxes. These B-Class weapons didn’t impress the Conquerors who’d all at least had their Thunderstorm rifles.

"You guys can split these up; just prepare a few MP40s for me." Tang Zheng didn’t care much for these firearms. After killing enough Demonic Shadows and lifting restrictions, an S-grade Heavy Thunderstorm Rifle would wipe them all out.

Pang Meiqin took one of the guns and called everyone to split up the equipment. Naturally, the Howling Reapers were assigned to Conquerors.

"Thank you, Tang Zheng." Sha Ou didn’t expect Tang Zheng to actually give him a seed. Stunned, he wanted to explain why he had committed robbery, not wanting Tang Zheng to look down on him, but he couldn’t bring himself to say the words due to his pride as a man.

"You’re welcome, keep up the good work." Tang Zheng took over four MP40s and ammo clips from Chen Hong. Picking up two Mauser 98K sniper rifles with scopes, he left the hall.

"Sha Ou, I can’t seem to understand him." Old Wang, the notorious gangster with the best driving skills, looked at Tang Zheng’s departing figure and shook his head. "He’s the group leader, yet he doesn’t hold back the good stuff for himself, how strange."

"What’s so strange about it? He’s just a dumbass." Li Bo mumbled under his breath.

"Shut up, Bo." Sha Ou glared at Li Bo and reprimanded in discontent, "Don’t judge others with your malicious petty mind. If you think he’s the idiot, then you’re the real idiot."

Li Bo respected and also feared Sha Ou, thus he obediently nodded in agreement.

"You should adjust your attitude. Did you notice Chen Hong, Jing Xiang, and Red Sister? They are weaker than average people, why can they survive? Surely with Tang Zheng’s help. As for Li Han, he’s truly hopeless. Though his personal qualities aren’t too bad, his temper is a real issue, else he could have survived till the end," Sha Ou advised Li Bo earnestly. He felt helpless about Li Bo, a fellow villager who’d never learned anything proper but only toughness.

"Because of his strength, Li Han chose not to bow to others. Such people rely on sheer willpower to climb over others and get ahead. Honestly, I respect his decision to leave, rather than grumbling," a middle-aged gangster with short hair distributed cigarettes to everyone. After lighting one up, he filled the air with smoke. He was an ordinary retired soldier.

"Our status as gangsters is truly dishonorable, so we need to keep a low profile, make ourselves useful and blend into the team. I hear that we can be absolved of our crimes afterwards. You guys want to go home and see your families, right?" Sha Ou patted Old Wang on the shoulder, "Don’t worry, I’ll get you those seeds soon."

Sha Ou was indeed considered a generous leader, without whom his men wouldn’t have stayed so loyal.

Having packed up their things, the Conquerors fleet began their journey back. At a junction, Tang Zheng waved goodbye and headed to his hunting zone with Jing Xiang and Cheng Cheng.

At the same time, Mei Jueye also faced an attack by Nazi zombies. There were about two dozen of them, equivalent to two squads. The high schooler had already prepared an escape route beforehand though. Eventually, he led them all to a gas station. After igniting it, the subsequent explosion and flames engulfed all the zombies. Because there were only two of them, no more zombies spawned.

The old headmaster felt increasingly regretful about Mei Jueye. With such a strong will to survive, he was bound to succeed in whatever he does. However, he had unfortunately gone astray. The headmaster was confident though, that he could correct the distorted worldview of the high schooler.

During his overnight patrol, Tang Zheng eliminated two more Shadow Demon Warriors. Armed with guns, the kills came easier.

As the rising sun showered Tokyo City with light, it regained some vigor, but was on an inevitable downfall. The negative effect of consecutive power cuts started to show. Many areas started suffering from water supply problems, life facilities were interrupted and food stocks fell into crisis, thereby causing panic and anxiety to spread among its citizens.

At this point, Tokyo was essentially paralyzed, with its many facilities unable to function normally. Even worse, there was a steep increase in crime. The police were understaffed, and the government was forced to send in the Self-Defense Force to maintain law and order.

On Tang Zheng’s third day in Ikebukuro, only a small amount of people were leaving the city. However, on the fourth day, he saw that the roads were littered with vehicles packed with belongings and families. The sound of honking horns echoed throughout the city, reflecting the mounting discontent of its people. (To be continued. If you like this work, please support it on qidan.com.
