Chapter 659 - 6 Madness

Chapter 659: Chapter 6 Madness

Having spent the day wandering about after leaving the Trojan Room and exhausting the last of his pocket change, he finally decided to go home.

Seeing the groups of students bustling down the street, backpacks slung over their shoulders and a lifetime of scholastic chats and gales of laughter, a flash of envy and admiration crossed his heart, swiftly replaced by a thick sense of disdain. Mei Jueye smirked coldly as his stare, which was as fierce as a starving wolf, zeroed on these lambs.

Three girls who were discussing the latest love drama froze in their tracks. Startled by Mei Jueye’s ominous aura, they unconsciously shuddered and sped up their pace, walking past him.

"Hahaha!" With Mei Jueye’s hearty laugh still echoing in the air, five minutes later, he found himself in front of the same anti-theft door he’d looked at for more than a decade. He took out his key, opened the door, and was immediately greeted by a strong wave of alcoholic breath and loud snoring.

He shook the warm kettle, but it was empty, the kitchen was piled high with trash. After scanning the room, Mei Jueye went to his bedroom, pulled a panda piggy bank from under his bed, and tossed it into his backpack. Immediately, the sound of angry footsteps and shouting echoed through the room.

"Where the hell have you been, you little bastard? Skipping school for over ten days, are you trying to kill me with worry?" A furious man burst into the bedroom, grabbed Mei Jueye by the shoulders and firmly straightened him up. The man’s right hand delivered a series of quick slaps to his face, landing over a dozen blows, swelling up his cheek.

Mei Jueye stayed silent, his right hand clenching tightly. His excessive force caused his veins to bulge visibly through his tight clothing.

"You useless creature, can’t even manage to stay in school, what can you do? Did I give you money to ditch class?" The infuriated man noticed Mei Jueye’s clenched fist and only hit harder. "What? After all the hardship of raising you, you’re not only ungrateful but also thinking about hitting your old man huh? Come on, throw a punch, show me!"

"Bastard, you’re not applying yourself, and now your teacher don’t give a shit either! Just call me and wash their hands of you. Aren’t you a student of the school?" The drunken father, ranting and raving, lectured Mei Jueye, spittle flying from his mouth. "It’s all because you’re such a disappointment, even humiliated me in the process. Why am I raising you? To embarrass me?"

"Enough!" Mei Jueye couldn’t take it anymore. He shoved his father, knocking him to the ground and ran out the door.

"Come back, you come back here!" Seeing his son’s retreating figure, his father felt a sudden pang of heartache. Drunk as he was, he tried to get up but lost his balance and fell back, banging his head against the wall, and blood seeped from a gash. Ignoring his injury, he chased after his son, but not a trace of him could be found at the doorstep.

Mei Jueye aimlessly roamed the streets. Somehow, he found himself standing in front of the gates of School No. 32. He studied the building, squinted at the fuzzy faces of the students behind the glass windows, and felt an overwhelming sense of alienation from the world.

He had planned to escape this place, but the sudden sound of the school bell halted his steps. He decided to head for the main entrance.

"Hmph, I have some debts to collect in here." After declaring his name and class to the guard, Mei Jueye easily entered the campus. He brushed past the students enjoying their break, heading directly for the third floor.

The instant Mei Jueye entered the classroom, the dozen students by the door froze and stopped talking. Their sudden silence alerted the others, and all eyes turned to him.

Despite Mei Jueye’s absence for more than ten days, none of the students made an attempt to speak with him or acknowledge him. They treated him like a complete stranger and promptly dismissed him, returning to their own social circles.

As a social outcast in his class, this was the treatment Mei Jueye expected. He didn’t mind that much. Especially after joining the Trojan Room, he cared even less.

"Well, if it isn’t the little coward. Ran away from school for over ten days, did you go to Shaolin Temple to learn Iron Cloth Shirt, so you can serve as a better punching bag for me?" A burly student stood up and started maneuvering towards Mei Jueye, throwing taunts at him while discreetly checking out his surroundings. Surely enough, the girls’ attention was drawn to him.

Teenagers always crave attention from girls. Wang Jianxing, knowing he couldn’t attract them with his study achievements or pleasant character, chose to showcase his strength by picking on the weaker Mei Jueye. Not only did it earn him the fascination of girls, but it also gratified his enjoyment of beating up people. He took pleasure in seeing Mei Jueye crying on the floor, gasping weakly after being beaten.

Wang Jianxing’s two closest friends followed closely behind him, swaggering proudly before stopping by Mei Jueye.

No one intervened. They all stood by coldly watching, or not caring at all, too busy with their own matters. They were not willing to get into a confrontation with a brutish guy like Wang Jianxing for someone like Mei Jueye, and risk getting beaten up in return.

"’Lord Jue’, what’s with this outfit? Have you accepted that your academic career is going nowhere and decided to practice being a beggar early by accumulating some experience?" Wang Jianxing stood in front of Mei Jueye, laughed, and grabbing his cheek, he jerked it roughly.

Mei Jueye was wearing a protective suit inside, with a running outfit on the outside. But, due to the intense fight, his clothes were now torn and ragged. Coupled with not having bathed for a while, he was dirt-streaked and unrecognizable.

"Hey, Wang Jianxing, we’re all classmates here, don’t go too far!" A girl glanced over, whispered something to the one beside her. Clearly, she looked down upon the weakling Mei Jueye and the arrogant Wang Jianxing.

"Ha, I’m not going too far. Jueye likes getting slapped in the face." Wang Jianxing retorted, then suddenly stretched out his hand and slapped Mei Jueye on the face. The slap echoed throughout the classroom.

"Wang Jianxing, that’s enough!" Some boys eventually couldn’t stand to watch it anymore, they pushed their desks and stood up, "If you’re so strong, go challenge Tang Hai from grade three. Bullying Mei Jueye doesn’t make you tough!"

"Exactly! We’re being labeled as a disunited class because of bad apples like you stirring up trouble!" Wang Meng’s close friend also stood up against Wang Jianxing.

"Huh, trying to show off your manliness in front of Li Yuan? Maybe you should choose your opponent wisely!" Wang Jianxing sneered at Wang Meng, he sure as heck didn’t want to play the supporting role.

The devoted friends glared back, the atmosphere in the classroom instantly became tense. They were all impulsive teenagers who cared about face, especially when all the girls were watching. Nobody wanted to back down.

Mei Jueye chuckled. For a moment, he really wanted to pull out the handgun from his travel bag and shoot all these ’classmates’ who were standing by. However, once Li Yuan and Wang Meng stood up for him, Mei Jueye’s thirst for revenge lessened. It wasn’t out of gratitude but rather a realization that he couldn’t resort to murder with so much commotion. Otherwise, unless he hid in the Trojan Room forever, he’d spend the rest of his life on the run.

"People need to be slaughtered, but I don’t want to go to prison so early. That would give Chu Baichuan something to laugh at, wouldn’t it?" Mei Jueye felt that he needed to bide his time, he needed enough power to remain free and untouchable, "But I might also die in the next round, so Wang Jianxing, you might as well die. Before that, though, I’ll strip you of your dignity!"

"Wang Jianxing, kneel down and lick my shoes, then I’ll let you go!" Mei Jueye shouted out all his anger with all his strength. In this moment, he felt a weight lift from his shoulders, a sense of unprecedented relief.

The quarrel between Wang Meng and Wang Jianxing had already attracted the entire class’s attention. When they suddenly heard Mei Jueye’s shout, they all looked at him, and a ray of sunlight poured in through the bright glass window, falling on his frail body, casting his face into shadow.

Wang Jianxing, filled with anger, felt that if he was yelled at by Mei Jueye he would become the laughing stock of the class. He decided to throw everything to the wind, lunging at him intending to give him a good beating.

A sneer curled on Mei Jueye’s lips, his right fist clenched, landing heavily on Wang Jianxing’s face. Six blood-stained teeth instantly flew out of his mouth, landing on the floor as he staggered back, knocking over several desks and chairs.

The girls sitting nearby, startled by the sudden outbreak, screamed and jumped from their seats. The two boys were blocking the doorway so those who wanted to call the classmaster couldn’t get out.

Mei Jueye was initially a bit worried, but seeing that his upgraded body plus protective clothing could completely dominate Wang Jianxing, his previous sense of indignity burst forth, and he could no longer control his strength.

"What’s the matter? Not so cocky now?" Mei Jueye attacked, grabbing Wang Jianxing’s collar and pummelled his mouth relentlessly. His teeth shattered, lips swollen, yet Mei Jueye didn’t stop, he continued to viciously slap his face.

"You’ve troubled me thirty-six times, slapped me three hundred and twenty-seven times, today I’ll give it all back to you!" Mei Jueye, driven to madness, grabbed Wang Jianxing’s head, pulled it down abruptly, and his knee collided with his stomach.

Wang Jianxing vomited sour liquid, clutching his stomach while convulsing on the ground.

"Lick my shoes now, or I’ll beat you to death!" Mei Jueye’s mind spun out of control. He lacked guidance from friends and relatives, and after surviving a cruel round of the Trojan Horse Game, his malicious thoughts could no longer be suppressed. Once Wang Jianxing provoked him, he finally exploded.

Wang Jianxing hesitated. He often used violence, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t afraid of it. Physical pain made him want to beg for mercy, but in front of his classmates, his pride didn’t allow him to bow his head. At this moment, he finally understood what Mei Jueye must have felt.

Mei Jueye crouched next to Wang Jianxing, grabbing his hair, initially intending to force him to lick his shoes. But catching sight of a crowd of students from other classes gathering outside the classroom, his heart skipped a beat. He guessed that the classmaster was coming, and if they called the police, he’d be in big trouble, especially since he had firearms on him. Realizing that, he dashed out of the classroom, pushing through the crowd to escape.
