Chapter 657 - 4: Untouchable

Chapter 657: Chapter 4: Untouchable

A dozen pairs of eyes flashed towards Tang Zheng, but he was just sitting there with a newspaper, leisurely watching everything that happened in front of him.

"You guys should go, what’s about to happen really isn’t suitable for your eyes," Tang Zheng said calmly as he neatly folded and put down the newspaper, then stood up.

The girls immediately perked up at his words. It signaled that he was ready to take on the upcoming confrontation. The middle-aged man’s face darkened, gritting his teeth as he glared at Tang Zheng, sizing him up and down.

"Kid, don’t go looking for trouble and go away," the middle-aged man warned. Tang Zheng’s nearly six-foot height paired with well-honed muscles gave off a tough and rugged demeanor.

"Your head must be full of holes. With such a prime location, careful business planning would undoubtedly yield profit. Why stoop to such low means?" Tang Zheng walked over as the apprentice barber blocking the entrance tightened his grip on the mop rather than moving aside.

"How I make my money is none of your damned business," The middle-aged man snapped, infuriated. There would always be short-sighted people in the world. Rather than earning money through hard work, he’d opt for the quick cash industries. If he weren’t worried about attracting too much attention and his backing being weak, he’d even resort to getting prostitutes for added business.

"Out of my way, didn’t you hear me?" Tang Zheng arrived in front of the apprentice barber, raising one eyebrow. "What, you want to hit me?"

"So what if I hit you? Xiao Tang, Xiao Gao, Xiao Li – beat him up, and you’ll each get a 200 extra this month." The middle-aged man sneered. All that Tang Zheng had was a strong physique. Some of his men were not only bold martial fighters but were also not afraid to kill.

Upon hearing their boss’s order and the promise of bonus, the barbershop thug, who was formerly a ruffian, swung his mop at Tang Zheng’s head. The other two barbers hastily put down their clippers and quickly stepped in.

With a swift motion of his left wrist, Tang Zheng blocked the incoming mop. His right hand shot out, gripping the apprentice’s hair and slamming him into the store’s glass door. The door shattered from the force, making a loud crashing sound.

The girls jumped away to avoid the shards of glass, hands instinctively covering their ears as they screamed. Especially at the sight of the unconscious apprentice, blood smeared across his face, they trembled, and even wet themselves.

The two other barbers, still clearly apprentices, were stunned. Tang Zheng’s brutality had effectively silenced them.

"If you love this door so much, sleep with it," Tang Zheng said nonchalantly, ignoring the unconscious apprentice on the floor and looking at the middle-aged man, "How much are you going to charge me for the door?"

"Well, well!" The middle-aged man glared at Tang Zheng and cursed past clenched teeth. He pulled out his mobile phone and dialed a number, his voice loud enough to shake the ceiling, "Brother Wu, I’m having a little trouble here. Can you bring over about ten guys?"

"Alright, I’ll send Ning Zi and the others over." Brother Wu’s internet cafe was nearby, and his lackeys worked part-time there, albeit with very limited computer knowledge.

"You guys should go!" Tang Zheng motioned for the female students to leave. This was no place for them to stay.

Three female students, hearing the boss yelling for help, had long wanted to bolt. Even if Tang Zheng stood up for them, they didn’t want to stick around. Seeing the boss too occupied to care about them, they hurriedly ran out of the barbershop, followed by three male customers. Both fearful of getting mistakenly hurt and trying to save some cash on their haircuts.

"Hold on!" Tang Zheng stopped them, "Give me four bucks."

"Why?" The men he stopped were confused.

"You had your hair cut, so you should pay. Or are you planning on scamming some petty cash?" Tang Zheng saw the men clench their fists, and laughed, "What, planning on arm wrestling?"

"Damn it! I’ve walked into a lunatic!" A disgruntled man mumbled a string of curses as he hurried out.

Smack! Tang Zheng swiftly struck back.

"You?" The man was stunned that Tang Zheng hit him. He wanted to fight back, but the sight of the unconscious apprentice lying on the floor dissuaded him.

"Did I claim I was a good guy?" Tang Zheng casually accepted the money the man handed over, leaving the middle-aged man and barbers dumbfounded. What on earth is this kid up to?

The big-eyed female student started blankly at Tang Zheng, her mind short-circuiting. Isn’t this against the behavior of a hero? This first-year female student had initially stayed behind in solidarity, but she was now unsure of his intentions.

"You stayed – are you planning on standing by me?" Tang Zheng glanced at the area. All the female students had run away, but this one remained. He couldn’t help but sigh that even the one involved had fled.

"Haha, are these the people you were trying to help? Isn’t it a bit laughable?" The middle-aged man walked over to stand next to Tang Zheng, taunting him. He had wanted to slap Tang Zheng’s cheek, but he retracted his hand fearfully after Tang Zheng glared at him.

Probably feeling that retracting his hand weakened his image, he stretched out his hand again to pat Tang Zheng’s shoulder.

"Kid, it’s not so good to play hero these days. You might end up getting yourself in trouble. I won’t hit you, just give me three thousand bucks for the broken glass and medical expenses."

"I can testify." The big-eyed girl stood behind him, her tone very naive, but her naive cuteness also made people feel warm.

Some students had already gathered outside the glass door. The several boys who had been asked for money by Tang Zheng didn’t leave, they wanted to see him get beaten. A few girls hid behind, not having the intention to testify.

"You testify? On what basis? Ha-ha." The middle-aged man liked to bully these young girls who had not yet been tainted by society, but he stopped laughing abruptly after two short bursts.

Tang Zheng made a swift move, grabbed his cheeks, and immediately pulled down, his knee bumping into the man’s nose.

The middle-aged man immediately fell to the ground, covering his nose and wailing. Tang Zheng controlled his strength. If he knocked him out in one blow, it wouldn’t be much fun.

"Make way, make way." The man called Ning Zi, along with over a dozen 17 to 18-year-old boys, pushed through the crowd and squeezed into the barber shop. They immediately noticed the middle-aged man lying on the ground, screaming.

"Beat him, beat him up. Lunch at the Zhuang Yuan Pavilion is on me today.", the middle-aged man was prepared to spend a lot to teach Tang Zheng a lesson. He promised benefits in advance, otherwise, these boys wouldn’t make much effort.

Upon hearing this, Ning Zi’s gang cheered loudly. They quickly pulled out batons from their pockets. With a flick of the wrist, they spread out the batons. Just by looking at this adept scene, you could tell they had plenty of practice.

"Just hurt him, don’t disable him." As soon as Ning Zi spoke, people immediately pounced. They were the dominant force in this neighborhood, and they often fought. Of course, they had weapons on them, but they knew better than to use lethal ones. If blood was shed, it would definitely cause trouble. But the next moment, they didn’t think so.

Tang Zheng didn’t dodge but instead attacked directly. He extended his right hand, grabbed a hooligan’s wrist with a firm grip, and twisted. The hooligan screamed in pain, and the baton in his hand slipped and fell.

Tang Zheng swept his left hand downward, grabbed the baton, and swung it immediately, hitting another hooligan’s arm. There was another scream, and the baton aimed at his head was also deflected.

He pulled with his right hand, using the hooligan as a human shield to take a hit from a baton, then kicked him in the thigh, sending him flying. Then his left hand’s baton swung up and down, and screams rang out continuously. Within less than five seconds, there were people lying all over the ground.

The onlooking students gasped, all shocked on the spot. This kid was too powerful, and those swinging batons were so cool. It was like watching an American blockbuster. A few girls couldn’t help but inquire about Tang Zheng’s background, while those who had run away regretted it. If they had stayed standing by the side, they could’ve had a chat with him.

"Boss, it seems like the guys you called can’t fight!" Tang Zheng shrugged his shoulders, and with a clatter, the discarded baton fell to the floor.

The middle-aged man covered his mouth, took out his phone, and dialed Brother Wu’s number. It seemed that he had to use a real weapon now. Unless this kid sees some blood, he won’t know the strength of the adult world.

"What, all beaten down? Enough said, I’m coming." Brother Wu was idling in the Internet cafe, trying to hook up with female university students. None of them took the bait, so he was a bit bored. He was planning to go see the middle-aged boss and try to mooch a free lunch, when he heard this news.

"I say, Ning Zi, it seems like you guys are regressing." Brother Wu pushed through the crowd, and before he came in, he saw his minions lying all around. His eyes twitched slightly, and he was about to get angry. However, when his gaze slid to Tang Zheng, he managed to suppress his anger.

"Damn, why is it this guy?" Brother Wu immediately broke into a cold sweat. He hadn’t forgotten that because of this kid renting a house, two beautiful women came to help him. It also caught the attention of Officer Zhang from the city, and subsequently, Zhou Suo ordered his residential area to shut down for rectification. If he hadn’t given Zhou Suo a lot of money, his residential area would still be out of business by now.

"Haha, what’s going on here?" Initially, Brother Wu wanted to slip away. But then he thought, maybe he could connect with the city through Tang Zheng. So, he put on a smiling face and walked up to Tang Zheng, "Bro, you’re not hurt, right?"

"This is bad." The middle-aged man froze in terror when he saw Brother Wu’s expression. He knew he had miscalculated. Anyone who could make Brother Wu bend over backward was clearly not someone he could mess with.

Ning Zi knew when to keep his mouth shut. He had originally planned to ask Brother Wu for help, but seeing the situation, he immediately shut up and pretended he didn’t know him.

"Alright, I heard him call you Brother Wu over the phone." Tang Zheng frowned. He was unscathed and didn’t even have dust on him. But he didn’t like this kind of situation where he was being watched by others.

"Haha, let’s get to know each other through a fight, right?" Brother Wu laughed and affectionately patted Tang Zheng’s shoulder, "I’m treating for lunch, how about giving me some face?"

"No need. Next time, tell your boys to open their eyes wide. Don’t always let people use them." As the saying goes, don’t hit a smiling person. Tang Zheng had no reason to make a scene with him. Even the world’s police wouldn’t deal with such trivial matters, especially when the victim had already run away.
