Chapter 607: Chapter 11: The White Bone Spirit and Reduction in Numbers
"Haha, the White Bone Spirit is a real beauty; should we catch a live one? For some fun?" The man with the white face said without any restrain, it was just a way to dispel the fear in his heart.
"Watched too many TV dramas, have you? Aren’t you afraid of impotence? I say, the queen of the Daughters Country or Princess Iron Fan would be much better?" Huang Jiayuan spat out some blood and got up, looking frustrated.
"You pervert, let’s find one first. After all, the White Bone Spirit is weak." The man with the white face looked at Tang Zheng, his tone much more respectful. "What do we do now? It’s getting dark."
"Inspect the town first, then rendezvous with Dantai and spend the night at the inn. We will set off to kill the White Bone Spirit in the morning." Tang Zheng looked at the two policemen, "How should I address you?"
"Gu er!" The anti-drug policeman replied succinctly. The captain of the armed police responded with a grunt, clearly unsatisfied but not daring to make a fuss. "Du Ziyu."
"You two go call Dantai and then clean up the inn. The rest will follow me."
The prisoners looked at each other and followed. Tang Zheng’s arrangements were reasonable and they could carry them out.
"Boss, this kid has some guts." Wang Tao stared at Tang Zheng’s retreating figure and nodded appreciatively. If he wasn’t leading by example, everyone would definitely resist his orders behind his back.
"Let’s follow him for a couple of days until we get familiar with this game." Li Yulong’s eyes were sparkling with determination. He saw this as an opportunity for a comeback, no, even a chance to skyrocket in status. According to what Tang Zheng and the others explained, as long as they survived, they could get anything. Being a billionaire? That wasn’t the goal.
The residents of the town were few in number, and peaceable, very timorous, not wanting to say more than a word to Tang Zheng and his group.
When the moon had risen, all the members of the Trojan Squad gathered at the inn.
"The inn’s owner died in the kitchen." Huang Jiayuan thought about the beef he had eaten and felt nauseous. He wished he could throw it all up. What if it was human flesh?
The other newcomers, hungry as they were, could only watch as Tang Zheng and his group ate dinner, drooling.
"Only those who contribute to the team get food. Of course, if you’re not afraid of death, you can go out and find something to eat." Tang Zheng put away his empty rice pudding can, leaving no trace. Then he tossed a can to Huang Jiayuan as a reward for his careful work.
The armed police soldiers and Gu er did not receive any special treatment because of their status, which increased the ordinary newcomers’ respect for Tang Zheng.
"The rooms have all been checked, they’re clean. How do we arrange them?" Qin Yan gnawed on chocolate, quietly observing each of the newcomers.
"Listen, you are only allowed to choose rooms on the second floor, and regardless of any contradictions or reasons, you must form a team, at least four people living together." Tang Zheng’s gaze swept over them, "Start grouping now."
The newcomers didn’t act ungratefully. In this dangerous situation, it was definitely safer to stay together. The grouping was quick, the 12 prisoners naturally grouped together, Huang Jiayuan sought out Gu er, not knowing what he was saying. The four armed policemen shared a room; that Du Ziyu, being considerate, included the reticent Xu Liang Mao, wanting to coax some information out of him.
The two male college students, the gamer Zhang Qiang, and Tu Jinxin lived together, the three old men were originally discarded, but Seed Health soldier Tu saw an opportunity, apparently preparing to sacrifice them.
The three old men weren’t foolish and frankly refused. They had all heard the saying: you don’t have to outrun the bear, just outrun your companions.
The high school student Mei Jueye could only be alone. No one wanted to live with this lunatic. But he didn’t care, sitting alone in the corner, repeatedly disassembling and assembling firearms and muttering something to himself, just like a madman.
The female rural teacher and female college student lived together seeking Qin Yan’s help. Even though they hadn’t seen any demons yet, they were already extremely frightened. The three Westerners, in ignorance and fearlessness, didn’t want to live with the locals.
After summoning the daylily, Tang Zheng essentially got a mobile night watch alarm, which allowed him to get a good night’s sleep. But this girl was too clingy, insisting on lying next to him within five minutes, hugging his waist. Her face full of happiness pressed against his back, completely forgetting her duties.
"Forget it, I’ll keep watch instead." Lin Weiguo sat by the window holding his rifle, overlooking the whole long street of the small town.
"Sorry." Tang Zheng quickly took back the daylily.
At midnight, the man with the white face had to pee, so he got up. As soon as he opened the door, a cold wind blew in, making him shiver. He took a step out, then looked at the dim staircase and backed off.
"Hey, hey, get up, accompany me to the toilet." The man with the white face picked up his shotgun and machete. He breathed a sigh of relief, feeling much braver, but when he looked at his prison buddies, he was immediately annoyed. These guys were snoring so loudly they didn’t pay attention to him at all.
"Hey, get up." The man with the white face kicked his good friend Liu Kang, the one with glasses among the prisoners. No matter how well they got along during the jailbreak, there were always some who were closer than others.
"Stop bothering me, it’s so annoying." Liu Kang rolled over and continued to sleep, "If you’re scared, just pee out the window, you don’t have to go out."
"Lazy bones." The man with the white face cursed, looked at the window, but finally decided to go out and find a place to relieve himself. Otherwise, if he really relieved himself at the window, he would surely become a laughingstock the next day and his status would definitely plummet. After all, no one likes a coward.
Walking on the wooden floor, listening to the creaking noises, the man with the white face suddenly felt that his surroundings weren’t that scary.
"Who’s there?" Lin Weiguo suddenly spoke up, giving the man with the white face such a fright that he shivered.
"Damn it, can’t you lower your voice?" The man with the white face peered through the door crack at Lin Weiguo and complained. Then he looked at the tactical flashlight in his hand, "Can I borrow it? I need to go to the toilet."
"Be careful." Lin Weiguo passed it over and ignored him.
Once he had gotten downstairs to the inn’s lobby, the man with the white face realized he didn’t know where the toilet was. Looking at the pitch-black backyard, he didn’t dare to go find it and made up his mind to relieve himself on the spot.
"Who... who’s behind the counter?" Seeing a light behind the counter, the man with the white face, Mo Cong, was startled and called out. He moved the beam of his tactical flashlight there, and was about to yell again, when he saw a huge bare butt sticking out from the edge of the counter.
"Me." The Mandarin was surprisingly awkward.
"Hah, a woman?" The pale-faced man laughed and quickly approached, only to discover an Italian beauty that made his heart race excitedly.
"You, go." The Italian girl blushed, trying to shoo Mo Cong away.
"Hehe, you shouldn’t be so nervous if you’re shy." Mo Cong didn’t step away. Instead, he started fondling her, and the girl didn’t even stop him.
"Haha, lucky me! I’ve heard European women are open-minded, and indeed they are!" Mo Cong laughed heartily.
Having spent seven years in prison, where he was sexually assaulted, he hadn’t had the chance to enjoy a woman’s company. Now, he could barely contain his lust, the desire in him burning like a raging fire.
Suddenly!
Mo Cong’s face froze in surprise. Before he could let out a scream, a skeletal right hand swiftly reached out, piercing his throat, causing him to lose half of his neck.
"Whit..." Mo Cong couldn’t make a sound, staring at the skull in front of him. What scared him the most was his realization that he was lying on top of a skeleton. His back immediately turned icy, tried as he might to escape, only to find that the skeleton tightly wrapped its legs around him.
"I like your vitality!" A stuttered voice spilled out from between the skull’s teeth, driving Mo Cong to the brink of madness.
The pale-faced man was terrified, watching as the skull kissed him, feeling utterly helpless as all of his vitality drained away.
Within three seconds, Mo Cong visibly waned, his body withering until nothing but bones were left.
White Bone Essence laughed silently, her hand covering her mouth. After laying the deceased Mo Cong aside, she prepared to claim her second victim.
Listening closely, White Bone Essence heard someone else coming. Using her Peeping Technique, a skeletal hand came out of the floor from the second floor. In its palm, there was an eye watching carefully at the person who just arrived.
"Another man, easy work." White Bone Essence exited the counter. Being a creature of bones moving in the gloomy lobby is indeed terrifying, but in just two seconds, flesh grew on her, creating a vivid replication of a female college student, even mimicked the Protective Clothing.
White Bone Essence is actually a skeleton, skilled in disguise and can take the form of anyone. She’d been patiently gathering information since these humans arrived in the small town in the afternoon.
"Eh, it’s you? Why didn’t you bring someone with you? It’s too dangerous." Upon seeing the female student he once saved, Ren Yi immediately displayed his worry for her.
"I’m scared," the White Bone Essence spoke less to avoid making mistakes, a tearful expression on her face as she embraced Ren Yi, burying her head into his chest.
"This..." Ren Yi, who was still a virgin, couldn’t control his emotions, steadying his breath and hesitantly placing his hand on White Bone Essence’s buttock, lightly kneading it.
"Don’t be scared, I’ll protect you." Ren Yi dared not muster more strength, afraid that the ’female university student’ might regret it.
Upon shining the tactical flashlight he had gotten from Lin Weiguo, Ren Yi observed the university student-shaped White Bone Essence, her shy and fearful expression, her body perfectly encased in the tight protective clothing, making him dry-mouthed and gradually lose control as he pressed her against the wall.
The White Bone Essence glanced at the second floor, then led Ren Yi into the lobby, laying him on a wooden table.
Believing he should say something romantic, Ren Yi reached for the ’university girl’s chest’ but then became frozen in shock. In front of him, what he saw was a laughing skeleton.
Ren Yi was terrified. Just as he was about to scream for help, a skeletal hand plunged into his throat lightning fast.
Intense pain triggered Ren Yi’s uncontrollable shaking, but this definitely wasn’t the pleasure he anticipated, rather it was fear, deep fear.
The White Bone Essence looked at the frightened face of her prey and was very satisfied. Lowering her head, she kissed him on the lips, absorbing all his vitality.
Just three seconds required to turn Ren Yi into a skeletal corpse.
"What a feast, haha! A bunch of lustful fools, so easy to deal with." The White Bone Essence laughed in a hoarse voice, indistinguishable as male or female. She neatly arranged Ren Yi’s remains just as another set of footsteps approached from upstairs.
"Oh, it’s a woman this time. Who should I transform into?" After spying through her Peeping Technique, the White Bone Essence grew flesh on her skeleton as she walked towards the stairs, taking the form of Tang Zheng. "This guy’s the leader. The woman will surely fall right into my arms."
"Ah, Tang Zheng, so you’re here as well?" On seeing a silhouette, a jittery Pang Meiqin immediately pointed her gun at it, only to relax when she saw it was Tang Zheng.
"Are you scared? I’ll protect you." ’Tang Zheng’ smiled, walking to Pang Meiqin’s side, reaching out to embrace her.
"Huh?" Pang Meiqin paused, then looked at ’Tang Zheng’ in confusion, smiling and saying, "Thank you, I appreciate it."
"Tang Zheng would never say something like that to me. Could it be a demon? This is frightening." Pang Meiqin suppressed her fear as she felt an embrace from ’Tang Zheng.’ The moment she was held, she discreetly attached the Mechanical Centipede to him.
"Ouch, you’re hurting me. I’ll undress myself." Pang Meiqin swatted ’Tang Zheng’s’ hand away from her waist, then retreated to ensure that the Mechanical Centipede had burrowed into its body. She immediately raised her machine gun and pulled the trigger.
An orange-red Rhombus muzzle flame manifested and all the bullets depleted on White Bone Essence’s body.
"Tang Zheng, there’s a demon." Pang Meiqin didn’t dare to confront it directly, but when she noticed it retreating as if to escape, she changed her tactics, immediately going on the offensive.
