The newbies shut their mouths, no longer looking at Li Muqing, quickening their pace as they passed by her and the beastman.

The beastman captain laughed smugly, readying for the next move when another captain rushed over, smacked his hand with the butt of his gun, then an intense brawl ensued. The other beastmen howled and cheered for their respective leaders.

"Looks like they take the ownership of the spoils of war very seriously. Even though they can’t do hand-to-hand combat, their powerful bodies are enough for them to act without any restraint." Dantai collected information calmly, hoping the fight would become more intense.

Li Muqing rose from the blood-stench-filled soil, running forward, unable to wipe the tears streaming down her face.

The beastman at the front diligently halted her, directed her to stand next to Tang Zheng.

Li Muqing’s clothes were torn to pieces, rather tempting, but neither Tang Zheng nor Dantai so much as glanced her way. Both of them were collecting data about these beastmen.

After two minutes, the two beastman captains finally had a victor. Li Muqing got lucky; the guy who was escorting them won. He took a string of the loser’s bone decorations from his neck, then motioned for his subordinates to continue on their way.

After exiting the zigzagging cave, Tang Zheng finally got a look at the structure of the building where they were being held.

It was a circular hollow building, likely underground, about the size of a basketball court. Its walls had many caves and spiral staircases. As soon as Tang Zheng and the other captives came out, they stayed halfway up the structure, marching along a staircase that led to the surface.

"What the hell is going on?" Gao Yu noticed more than a dozen teams of beastman soldiers ushering human captives from other caves. They beat and verbally abused them incessantly. As soon as someone resisted, they were immediately pinned down and killed, their hearts removed and eaten, and their corpses thrown down the stairs.

Newbies peeked down, almost wetting themselves in fear. Broken bodies and white bones piled up into a huge mound. The people who had died there must number in the tens of thousands.

"Ten beastman infantry per small team. There are almost two hundred people here with more beastmen marching out. This is going to be tough." Tang Zheng could only keep his anger in check.

In the main tunnel leading to the surface, bodies were everywhere, not just humans, but beastmen as well. The beastman captain escorting the Burmese prisoners, furious from losing his fight, would grab a woman and defile her periodically, massacring her afterwards.

Every newbie looked extremely uncomfortable at the sight of the bodies still warm on the ground. One woman wasn’t steady, slipping in the puddle of blood and falling onto the ground. Her face landed right into a torn thigh and guts. The pungent smell of blood immediately made her vomit, and this act promptly got her whipped.

"The Burmese can really endure." Gao Wei felt if someone tried to brand him, he’d rather die than not resist.

"Why are we second in line? Being in the middle would be best." They were fifty meters from the exit. Seeing sunlight shining into the tunnel, Gao Yu suddenly became frightened. Thinking about how firearms were useless against the beastmen, he quickened his pace, heading towards Tang Zheng. But a beastman rushed up and gave him a brutal whipping.

"Fucking idiot." Sun Bowen squeezed himself into the crowd, with people surrounding him on all sides. Staying lowkey was the best way to survive.

Helping each other at this moment was bullshit. Some smart newbies, struggling with fear, were wracking their brains on how to keep a low profile and survive.

Tang Zheng had been keeping an eye on the cave entrance. So, when about ten black ’cans’ were thrown in and the beastmen immediately grabbed their guns, he was the first to turn around. He pressed Lu Fan and Pang Meiqin with one hand and Qin Yan with the other, throwing himself onto the ground.

"Get down, close your eyes." Tang Zheng had just shouted when a blinding white light exploded in the tunnel, accompanied by a deafening sound. Newbies screamed, clutching their ears, falling to the ground in pain.

Dense gunfire rang out, covering the hurried footsteps. A fully armed squad of human soldiers rushed into the tunnel, firing ceaselessly. Beastmen shot dead, one after another.

The beastmen were strong, but even they fell victim to weapons specifically designed to counter them. However, some fast-reacting ones who had not been blinded by the flashbang, like the one in front of Tang Zheng, were ready to kneel down, aiming their rifles at the intruding enemies.

"Stay still." After instructing Qin Yan and the others, Tang Zheng turned around, taking out his Dragon Bone Curved Blade. He jumped at the beastman, slashing at the neck while activating his Iron Hellfire.

Tang Zheng felt a colossal resistance, but the curved blade, able to split a bus in half, managed to chop off the beastman’s head. Blood squirted from the neck, staining the walls.

The human captain leading the attack shot a glance at Tang Zheng, firing at the beastmen behind him, and ran forward.

The beastman soldiers escorting the Burmese had been taken down. They ran towards the cave entrance, screaming out their fears.

The newbies couldn’t wait, running out headfirst. The female models hesitated a moment, and except for Xu Biyun and Liu Yue, the other three decided to stop following Tang Zheng.

"There is no time to pick up more items, let’s go." Li Meilian thought he was crazy. Seeing that he didn’t heed her warning, she ran off.

"Damn, objects from this world can’t be transported into spatial props." Tang Zheng took off the beastman’s rifle, and then its combat suit, hoping to store them in his wristwatch, but to no avail.
