Chapter 283: Chapter 32: Counting the Spoils of War

"Lu Fan, I’ll take care of Tang Zheng. You hurry and search Alice’s corpse and bring the spoils of war here." Qin Yan wasn’t comfortable with Yin Shangwu, not to mention that after Alice’s death, two Star Seeds were released, this was enough to turn everyone against each other.

Pang Meiqin also hurriedly crouched down to help bandage Tang Zheng’s wounds. If he hadn’t thrown those hand grenades to overturn a large number of poker soldiers, even if this woman had the best of luck, she would have died. Reminiscing about the life-or-death situation earlier, she still got chills.

"How is the Chess Room? Did Yin Shangwu die?" Tang Zheng took out another vial of nanobot injection and injected it into his body. He didn’t not want to die just yet, then he handed one to Qin Yan, "Are you badly hurt?"

Pang Meiqin snorted, feeling somewhat displeased. She was indeed not important in their eyes.

"She can’t die." Qin Yan shook her head sadly, "but we’ve almost exhausted our stamina. Yin Shangwu also lost a hand, she should be slaughtering the remaining rookies from the Super Squad."

"Was Alice’s ability that strong? Wasn’t she a BOSS? Why hasn’t the game ended yet?" The two strongest individuals have lost their hands, and they have not even left the Demon City Dungeon yet. Pang Meiqin was desperate for a solution to reassure her.

"Uncle, here are your spoils of war." Lu Fan placed two Star Seeds and a fist-sized rabbit bomb in Tang Zheng’s hand, then ran out and dragged the Pepper Grinder over. He wiped his sweat, pretending to be cheerful to divert Tang Zheng’s attention. "Uncle Tang, you’re in the money, quickly check what level the props are."

Tang Zheng laughed. He knew that Little Lolita was comforting him. He wanted to reach out and pat her hair, but the continuous bombardment and severe injuries had greatly drained his energy and he couldn’t make such simple movements anymore.

"Uncle Tang, don’t move around." Even the slightest movement made Tang Zheng wince in pain, making Little Lolita feel distressed. Tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Help scan this, please." Tang Zheng pointed to the prop with his chin. The ice inside the passageway started to melt, but the four had no intention of leaving. "This is the thing that blew off my arm."

"This thing is called ’Jumping and Taunting Rabbit Bomb Mother’, an S-grade artifact, Alice’s exclusive item. It can produce six rabbit bombs daily. These bombs have strong adhesiveness and can stick firmly to targets once thrown at them, and they can’t be removed until they explode." Qin Yan scanned the bomb with her wristwatch and gave the data. "Their power increases exponentially. The more there are, the more powerful the bomb effect is. If there are more than five bombs, they can ignore any defense gear below S-grade. No wonder it can blow off your arm. Oh right, this thing also carries a spiritual power attack."

"The bomb is good." Lu Fan’s face was full of envy, "That adhesion effect, if used well, can lead to unexpected victories."

"Yes, this bomb has two ways of exploding, instant explosion and timed detonation, which can be set to a maximum of one minute." Qin Yan nodded, "Once this thing sticks to you, you can only get rid of it by tearing off your skin."

"Alice’s apron is also good, want to get it?" Tang Zheng noticed the look on Little Lolita’s face, but he didn’t plan to give it to her. This kind of weapon would be more powerful if it’s kept in his hands.

"The tattered apron? Are you sure you didn’t see it wrong?" Lu Fan jogged back out with her little legs.

"Pepper grinder, A-grade artifact, unlimited bullets, 1,000 shots per minute, but it has a cooldown time. After shooting for three minutes, it has to be cooled down for thirty seconds. The bullets shot out carry a spiritual power attack." Qin Yan looking at Lu Fan, said, "The most important thing is, it only has a weight of two kilograms, just a bit heavier than a handgun. It would be most suitable if our Lolita here uses it."

"Yeah, just give it to Lu Fan." Tang Zheng was worried that Lu Fan could not use the heavy-duty weapons. The pepper grinder was delivered right to their doorstep and now Little Lolita could also become a combat power.

"Thank you, Uncle Tang." Little Lu Fan threw her apron aside, embraced her new weapon without caring about the blood stains on it.

"There’s also the apron." Tang Zheng looked at this blood-stained apron but didn’t feel like it would look like prop.

"Alice’s Apron, S-grade prop, defense gear, the more blood smeared on it, the fresher, the stronger its defense strength." Qin Yan pinched this white apron, said, "How many years has Alice not washed her clothes, it’s so dirty."

"This effect is really disgusting." Lu Fan grimaced, "Except for butchers, I guess no one would want to wear it."

"Wrong, many people are fighting for it, the apron has an inherent unlimited space storage capacity." Qin Yan opened the apron, indeed, there was a zipper pocket inside. No wonder Alice could pull out many weapons from it.

"Take it, it matches your height after all."

Hearing Tang Zheng’s words, Qin Yan handed the apron to Lu Fan, smiling, "Quick, open it and see, maybe there’re some good stuff inside."

"What could be here?" Although the space backpack was good; it was too dirty. Lu Fan didn’t fancy being called a dirty kid who doesn’t like cleaning. But after opening the zipper, her eyebrows rose and her eyes lit up, pulling out ten Poker Soldier cards.

"Servant Cards, single-time consumable items, can summon one Poker Soldier, lasts for ten minutes, or until killed, belongs to the spiritual monster and can evade normal attacks." Qin Yan scanned it and her face became somewhat dim. She thought of those high school students who were torn apart by the Poker soldiers.

"Little Fan Fan, could you..." Pang Meiqin’s eyes brightened, this poker card was something special, having such a ’bodyguard’ for defense could make a person feel much safer.

"No." The little loli pouted, tucking the Servant card into her pocket for safekeeping. If Aunt Qin Yan wanted it, she would definitely give it to her, but Pang Meiqin could forget about it. A woman who didn’t contribute to the team was undeserving of her respect.

"Tang Zheng." Pang Meiqin started to act coquettishly towards Tang Zheng, but was met with a piercing glare from Qin Yan.

"She is still a child and needs those cards more than you do." Tang Zheng shook his head in refusal. If Pang Meiqin had shown a bit of determination, Tang Zheng might have given her a chance, but this woman was far too disappointing.

Pang Meiqin’s face darkened and embarrassment flickered in her eyes. She felt as if she had become the outcast of the group.

"Qin Yan, go pull the kitchen knife out of Li Xinlan’s chest and collect her backpack." Tang Zheng loathed being immobilized, even though having a woman assist him had its charms, he preferred to act on his own accord.

"Don’t forget about Zhang Hao’s stuff." Lu Fan ran out again like a diligent little bee. Pang Meiqin watched him with envy, she had really wanted to grab these items herself, but without Tang Zheng’s permission, she dared not move.

"Alice’s blood-soaked kitchen knife, A-level artifact, it has a spirit attack that can ignore all A-level defense items and below." Qin Yan passed the kitchen knife to Lu Fan, jokingly suggesting, "You could collect a set, then you’d be Little Alice."

"Hmph. Little Fan Fan wants to be a boss, definitely a hundred times stronger than Alice." Little loli tilted her chin up, clearly looking down on Alice.

"I’ve taken Xinlan’s backpack. Meiqin, you can have Zhang Hao’s Space Backpack, and give the Howling Reaper to me." Tang Zheng rummaged through the backpack, but found nothing particularly useful, resulting in him cursing under his breath.

"This guy definitely spent all his points on consumables." Seeing the half-empty backpack, even Qin Yan felt embarrassed for Zhang Hao.

Pang Meiqin, on the other hand, wasn’t at all bothered. For a woman who carefully calculated her points to the last digit, every bit counted.

"Done tidying up? Let’s move on then." Yin Shangwu appeared silently like a ghost.

Pang Meiqin and the little loli jumped in fright, instinctively taking a defensive stance.

"Have they all been taken care of?" In the dim light, Tang Zheng noticed that Yin Shangwu’s entire left arm was gone. She’d treated the wound roughly, hastily wrapping some bandages around the shoulder. In her right hand, she held two backpacks clearly stripped from the fallen Conquerors.

"Want the spoils of war? Take it." Yin Shangwu casually tossed the backpacks at Tang Zheng.

"Hmph, the most valuable item might’ve already been taken by you." Pang Meiqin muttered and reached for the backpacks. She was however, smacked away by Lu Fan.

"What are you doing?" Pang Meiqin was indignant. The little loli had definitely done it on purpose, hitting her with such force.

"Did Uncle tell you to move?" Lu Fan warned Pang Meiqin before leaning into Tang Zheng, whispering, "She isn’t trying to cheat us. She left us enough time to sort through Alice’s stuff and didn’t interfere."

"I see. Then I won’t hold back." Tang Zheng had picked up on the meaning as well, but as the other party intended to hand them over, there was no reason to refuse.

"The most valuable thing Brant had was a set of Iron Man armor, but it was wrecked during our fight. The rest is just miscellaneous entertaining items." Yin Shangwu tossed a piece of battered metal on the ground, "Trojan Room’s special item from North America, SS level, Brant spent countless points and went through countless games to afford it."

"Then why didn’t he leave?" Pang Meiqin was confused. If it was her, she would have left as soon as possible, not lingering for an extra second.

"The thrill, adventure, and all the distinct items on the Trojan list." Yin Shangwu scornfully laughed, "Don’t all men have a dream of being a hero? If it were you, wouldn’t you want to become the Iron Man in the comics?"

"How much longer until we can escape Demon City? Shouldn’t we rest first?" Alice didn’t care about any hero stories. All she wanted was to survive.

"Let’s continue. Such a severe wound will take at least a week or two to recover. There’s no time to waste." Seeing the ice layer melting, Tang Zheng indicated to Li Xinlan.

Qin Yan understood. She lifted Li Xinlan out of the icy water, adjusting her position before walking back to Tang Zheng. She put his remaining arm over her shoulder, helping him continue down the passageway. (To be continued. If you like this book, feel free to recommend it at www.qidian.com.
