Chapter 262: Chapter 16 Crazy Alice_2

Sure enough, the students’ eyes lit up and they began to think.

"I, I heard the giggle of a little girl."

Tang Zheng nodded and threw a piece of chocolate over. The student caught it, tore the wrapper, and stuffed it into his mouth. The sound of his chewing elicited a widespread swallowing noise from the others, but no one dared to grab the treat.

"I also heard giggling."

After another student finished their sentence, they looked at Tang Zheng expectantly.

"Sorry, I don’t need repetitive answers."

Several students regretted their hesitations.

"I think I saw a slim figure, apparently wearing a dress."

Tang Zheng nodded. This answer deserved a reward.

Another male student’s eyes swept the surroundings before biting down on his lip and saying, "I saw her carrying a Western sword, the kind Zorro uses."

"You’re lying." Tang Zheng refused.

The male student was expecting his piece of chocolate and was taken aback by his response. Despite being flustered, he still tried to defend himself, "It was a Western sword, I’m certain. If you don’t want to give me chocolate just say it."

"Haha, nice try." Tang Zheng wasn’t stupid. This boy was too certain, so he decided to test him. He hadn’t expected to catch him in another lie, "This time I’ll let it slide, next time you won’t be so lucky."

Seeing their classmate falter, those who had intended to deceive Tang Zheng changed their minds.

"I feel like the monster’s disguise is similar to the little girl in the Crazy Alice game. Every time she catches and kills someone, she toys with them for a while before chasing after the next victim. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been able to escape." A student tried hard to recall, "I estimate she will reach us in ten minutes."

"Hmm, this is for you." This student’s answer was the most detailed and logical, and so, Tang Zheng rewarded him with a can of food.

Right now, the students didn’t have the luxury to be jealous. They were all worried about the impending ten minutes, but the iron chain in front of them blocked their path, causing them to circle in fear.

"I can’t wait anymore, I’ll give it a try," Lin Weiguo, unable to think of a solution, decided to go for it, "There might be some mechanism that could create a bridge."

"Good, that’s brave," Zhang Hao praised whilst giving a thumbs-up, completely disregarding Lin Weiguo’s safety. The other students were also looking forward to it.

"You’re not in the condition to go," Tang Zheng grabbed Lin Weiguo’s arm, not letting him leave.

"Are you just afraid he’ll get ahead of you?" Zhang Hao was not pleased but before he could finish his sentence, Tang Zheng slapped him across the face.

"Shut up, you think I don’t know your little scheme?"

Zhang Hao saw that Tang Zheng was truly angry and didn’t dare to refute. He covered his face, cringed, and Han Zifeng couldn’t help but laugh. This resulted in Zhang Hao venting his anger on him, dragging him to the corner to give him a beating.

"I’ll do it," Tang Zheng didn’t want to wait anymore, and besides, Lin Weiguo wouldn’t last much longer. Yin Shangwu had the strength, but she definitely wouldn’t do it. As for Zhang Hao, if he went, he would definitely leave everyone else behind.

"What will we do without you?" Pang Meiqin didn’t want to part with Tang Zheng, especially considering that a monster would rush at them from behind soon.

"Stop arguing, even if I make a mistake, with Tang Zheng here, you still have another chance." Lin Weiguo firmly placed his hand on Tang Zheng’s shoulder. Seeing Tang Zheng try to interject, he made a joking remark, "After all, I was once the ’Southern Sword,’ can’t I compare to a rookie like you?"

"Old Lin, be careful." Feeling the strength emanating from Lin Weiguo’s hand and sensing his determination, Tang Zheng gave up arguing.

"Don’t worry, you all just take care of yourselves." Lin Weiguo took out his mountaineering rope and carabiner, starting to make rudimentary tools for moving on wire cables.

Five minutes later, under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Lin Weiguo stepped onto the dangerous ’swing.’ Since the Poison Liquid Pool was only one meter away from the wire rope, he could only squat on it, experiencing extreme discomfort, and he found it difficult to exert power.

"Alright, I’m off." Lin Weiguo waited for Tang Zheng to tighten the safety rope around his waist, gave a small smile, and began to advance.

Lin Weiguo, squatting and swaying non-stop on the swing, was already drenched in sweat from struggling to maintain balance. Bandages drenched in sweat were wrapped around his hands to increase friction. Lu Fan used his abilities to create pebble-sized rocks which were stuck onto the bandages. Even though it was painful, at least it wasn’t slippery.

The Old Soldier moved a step. His right foot pressing down on the rope, he slid to one side, his right hand gripping the tether of the wire rope carabiner tightly, moving to the right, then retracting his left foot, pulling the mountaineering rope, inching forward bit by bit towards the other side.

"This is too tiring, why doesn’t he just hang on the wire rope with both legs and arms and crawl across?" Liu Jiamei, who had managed to survive, couldn’t bear to continue watching, thinking Lin Weiguo was being foolish.

"You can try it yourself." Bai Guo rolled her eyes. If not for her reserved nature, she would have already taught this disrespectful woman a lesson.

The green viscous liquid was still bubbling, releasing gas that corroded Lin Weiguo’s clothes the second his body made contact. Some even splashed onto his face, inhaling this gas made him cough violently, causing his body to start swaying again.

Everyone watched, their hearts pounding, hands clenched into fists. Then a sudden scream from behind pulled their attention away.

Without a second thought, the students instinctively moved forward, crowding together. The two students and Bai Guo who stood at the front were immediately squeezed off the small platform.

Tang Zheng, startled, quickly reached out to grab hold of Bai Guo and another student. The remaining unfortunate fellow tumbled into the pool of venom, his agonized screams reverberating from his throat before abruptly stopping a few seconds later. Within sight, his body was corroded, leaving only a pile of white bone, which slowly melted and sunk to the bottom of the pool.

"Whoever fucking screams again, I will kill him." Tang Zheng, furious, spread his arms wide in a show of strength, successfully pushing back a crowd of more than twenty people, clearing a large space.

"There’s a monster at the back." A girl at the very end of the line began to cry out in panic and despair.

"Damn it, move the hell away. Your pushing’s making it impossible for me to get through!" Tang Zheng was exasperated, the students had jammed up the passageway, not leaving so much as a crack. If not for his threat just now, they would’ve already crowded in by now.

Tang Zheng took out his high-powered Camp Light and switched it on, illuminating every inch of the passageway. It was then that he finally got a clear look at the monster.

"Of course, it’s Alice." Tang Zheng sighed. At the end of the corridor a girl was crouching on the ground,

The little girl was dressed in a blue dress, with a white apron tied around her waist embellished with a large, beautiful butterfly knot. Her face was abnormally pale, under her eyes were dark circles from chronic lack of sleep.

As the students held their breath, all that could be heard were the eerie giggles of Alice.

Fearing that Lu Fan would get squeezed, Tang Zheng lifted her onto his shoulders. Little Lolita covered her eyes, not daring to look.

Seeming to have had enough fun, Alice lost interest in the corpse. Suddenly looking up and tilting her head to examine the crowd before her, she sprang forth.

Due to the students obstructing the path, Tang Zheng’s group’s field of fire and accuracy were severely affected. Li Xinlan and the others also missed their target without fail.

With a soft sound, a kitchen knife was embedded in a female student’s chest. Blood spilled out in an instant. Alice did not continue her attack, instead dragging her victim back, all the while emitting chilling laughter from her throat.

Because of Alice’s attack, the students suddenly stepped back. Luckily, Tang Zheng had managed to push everyone a few meters forward earlier, if not for that, a few would have fallen into the Poison Liquid Pool. (To be continued.
