Chapter 234: Chapter 52 Hot Spring Showdown

The warm morning sunlight slanted across the wooden corridor. Due to the fresh air, heavy with moisture, it even sparkled with rainbow-like beams of light. Then amidst the sound of wooden clogs, they bumped into each other unexpectedly.

"Stay calm, there’re only two of them, no need to hide." Tang Zheng gripped Zhang Hao’s shoulder, trying to minimize the movement to not draw their attention. A foreigner with common features would hardly draw attention, unless they looked particularly distinctive.

The two Russian men across from them had just emerged from the hot springs, their skin slightly reddened, having downed some sake, their faces filled with warmth. They were chattering away, complaining about a woman named Yelena, hardly giving a glance at Tang Zheng and his crew.

"This is a good chance, Lin Weiguo, let’s move. I’ll take the right and you take the left, Zhang Hao, cover us." Tang Zheng slid his hand towards his Space Wristwatch, a handy equipment that eliminated the worry of being discovered with weapons.

"Let’s think this through..." Zhang Hao tried to persuade them, he had never really remembered the faces on Tang Zheng’s sketches, he was flustered because he knew nothing about these two men’s abilities.

Lin Weiguo and Tang Zheng walked up, feigning indifference and acting as if they were engrossed in their chat. Everything seemed so natural.

Zhang Hao was annoyed as his advice was completely ignored. It finally dawned upon him that they had probably never trusted him from the beginning and their request for his cover was merely a polite trap.

"What will you do when you fail?" Zhang Hao blurted out, but he quickly realized that wasn’t possible as the two men slipped their daggers into the Russian men’s hearts.

When they were three meters apart, the big Russian man Igor huffed slightly. He was over Chinese people, but it didn’t seem appropriate to make a fuss when the foreigners seemed to be admiring the scenery.

"All Chinese look the same." Igor, being a newbie, didn’t overthink it because the Chinese acted so naturally and Hakone was a famous hot spring resort with many Chinese visitors. However, when a young Chinese man’s wooden clog strap broke, collided with him, and then fell to the ground, Igor decided to beat him up. Beating up a man who fell over a bump seemed easy and even seemed like a chance to extort some money. Since he started this game, Igor’s courage had swollen.

"Hey!" As the idea popped into his mind, Igor did it. He grabbed the black-haired youngster’s bathrobe collar and just when he was about to vent his anger, a large hand shot upward from underneath the wide bathrobe like a venomous snake, covering his mouth. Igor felt like his cheek was about to be crushed and silently watched the dagger, reflecting sunlight, pierce into his heart, unable to make any sound.

Igor’s body spasmed as he looked to his comrade for help but his comrade’s head had drooped, his throat slit and blood coating his bathrobe.

"Holy sh*t." Zhang Hao was startled. These two men killed so swiftly that it all happened within thirty seconds. Right then, Zhang Hao felt a chill run up his neck and goosebumps on his skin.

"I can understand Lin Weiguo, after all, he used to be a special forces soldier, but how is Tang Zheng so skilled? No, how is he so mentally composed?" Zhang Hao suddenly felt inferior when he watched Tang Zheng calmly lay the body of Russian man on the floor, muttering something about drinking too much and putting on a familiar expression like they were friends. Dealing with the blood stains on the clothes, Zhang Hao thought that if this man were to act in movies, he could certainly sweep the Oscars.

"What to do with the bodies?" Lin Weiguo propped up the bodies, then looked at Zhang Hao, "keep watch at the front and inform us if someone comes."

"What about the back? What if someone comes from there?" Zhang Hao wanted to put on a show to improve his image, to prove that he can also handle the situation. However, he was interrupted by Tang Zheng.

"We spent forty-five seconds from turning into the corridor to killing them. According to the path we took, even if someone comes, it’ll take at least thirty seconds. By the way, can you move faster? Do you have to stand there and listen to my explanation?" Tang Zheng managed to fit the bodies into the Space Wristwatch but the dozen or so blood spots on the floor were tricky.

"Monsters, the two of you. Still so composed after killing." Zhang Hao grimaced, although he was reluctant to admit it, but Tang Zheng indeed was superior in his excellence in every aspect.

"Just newbies, no valuable items." Lin Weiguo lamented, clearly unsatisfied with their loot, "shall we check the bathroom? If they just came from the hot springs, there might be others in there."

"No, we’ll recon first. If we attack, we have to ensure we kill the maximum number of people at the same time." Tang Zheng didn’t want to trigger any alarms. As for the newbies, an hour of unexplained absence wouldn’t raise any suspicions.

The Hetang Hot Spring Resort wasn’t very large. After avoiding the Russians’ room, Tang Zheng spent half an hour familiarizing himself with the topography of the building. There were a few close calls when they almost bumped into the others, but Tang Zheng managed to dodge in time every time.

"Hello, a short-haired Russian man recently asked me to inform you to serve them a sumptuous Japanese lunch at 12. Here’s a stack of Japanese yen." Tang Zheng described the image of the man he killed and brought out a stack of yen. "I happen to speak some Russian."
