Chapter 229: Chapter 48 Plan Book
Tang Zheng had been out of everyone’s sight all day, and he didn’t even eat lunch or dinner. Li Xinlan had thought about calling him, but remembering his words ’don’t disturb me,’ she gave up on that idea. On the other hand, Zhang Hao and Pang Meiqin were quite relaxed, which led Bai Guo to argue with Pang Meiqin. Qin Yan stepped in to mediate, and the two women started a cold war.
"Alright." Tang Zheng breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at the densely packed text on several A4 papers. He felt a bit uneasy about using Airi as bait, but he couldn’t think too much about it now. There was no life-threatening danger, at most she might get hurt, "But I should communicate with her beforehand."
Relaxed, Tang Zheng felt hunger gnawing at his stomach. He jumped off the bed and just as he opened the door, he saw Airi sitting against the wall, hugging her knees. Her head was buried deep between her knees. Next to her was a plate of dinner.
Hearing the door open, Airi quickly lifted her head. Seeing Tang Zheng appear with a calm face, a look of joy immediately spread over her face. She jumped up with a swoosh.
"Mr. Tang Zheng ..." Airi had wanted to say comforting words, but nothing came out. She bit her lower lip, stayed silent for a second, then suddenly bowed her body and apologized, "I’m sorry."
Airi let go of her ponytail, and her long hair cascaded down like a waterfall
"What are you apologizing for? What did you do wrong?" Seeing the tears running down Airi’s cheeks, Tang Zheng laughed while rubbing her head, "It’s just a small inconvenience, don’t worry."
"It’s all my fault..." Airi wanted to speak again, but Tang Zheng stopped her.
"It’s okay, it’s all in the past now. Blaming yourself is not going to help." Tang Zheng squatted down and picked up the plate, then pointed his chopsticks at the small fish, "Is this for me?"
"It’s cold, I’ll go heat it up." Airi wiped her tears and reached out to grab the plate.
"It doesn’t matter." Tang Zheng turned back to his room.
Airi stood in the doorway, hesitating whether or not to follow him in. Then she heard Tang Zheng say come in. I want to talk to you.
Sitting on the bed, Airi’s cheeks were as red as the sunset cloud. She had never spent an evening alone with a guy before, which made her feel very awkward.
"The paper beside you is a plan book. You can take a look." Instead of eating dinner, Tang Zheng pulled up a chair and sat across from Airi, explaining the mission requirements.
Listening to Tang Zheng’s confident and handsome speech, Airi recalled the day he suddenly appeared at the hospital and pulled her through the Alien’s blockade. She remembered his thrilling shogi showdown with Lu Fan on the train, and his tender comfort.
"He’s always so composed, even in crises, he seems as relaxed as if he’s strolling in his own backyard." Airi felt her cheeks getting hot, as if a sweet and sour taste was flowing inside her heart. She remembered what her best friend had told her, that it was called love.
"Airi, are you listening?" Noticing that Airi seemed distracted, Tang Zheng waved his hand in front of her eyes and then touched her forehead, "You don’t have a fever, do you? Your forehead is so hot. Hmm, it’s possible due to the shock and fatigue coupled with the unfamiliar environment."
Airi came back to her senses and saw Tang Zheng’s hand on her forehead, feeling a warmth from it. She shyly moved her gaze away.
"You should take some medicine." Tang Zheng first took out a bottle of mineral water from his Space Wristwatch, then took out a box of cold medicine and handed it to Airi, "Take a good rest after you eat it. We still have a whole month left to endure, don’t worry, you will be safe with me."
Tang Zheng stood up, ready to negotiate with Yin Shangwu to gauge her thoughts, but as soon as he turned around, he was stopped by Airi pulling at his right hand.
"Don’t worry!" Feeling the slight trembling from Airi’s palm, Tang Zheng patted her hand with his left hand before letting go and walking towards the door.
But after just a few steps, Airi mustered the courage to follow him and grabbed him from behind.
Tang Zheng instinctively held onto Airi’s arm wrapped around his waist, thinking the girl was scared. He immediately turned and hugged her.
"Don’t leave me." Airi leaned against Tang Zheng’s chest, then suddenly lifted her head, stood on her tiptoes, and kissed him on the lips.
"What?" Tang Zheng was stunned. What does this mean? Is the high school girl throwing herself into his arms? Seeing Airi in her high school uniform, his heartbeat began to quicken.
Airi blushed, stepping backwards, trying to pull Tang Zheng to the edge of the bed.
An image of Li Xinlan flashed across Tang Zheng’s mind, followed by the memory of their mistake that led to Liu Nai being kidnapped. Even though he didn’t blame them, Tang Zheng still held a small grudge. After all, he was no saint.
Airi’s breaths started to quicken, her head lowered even more. Then, she stumbled and fell back on the bed. She was wearing short black socks that only went up to her calves, exposing her two fair and lively thighs.
Airi suddenly reached to hold down her skirt hem, her gaze darting around, avoiding eye contact with Tang Zheng. Her shy demeanor was truly attractive.
"Am I really going to play Liu Xiahui again?" Tang Zheng held back, determined to leave.
Airi, lying on the bed with her defenses down, saw that Tang Zheng had yet to make a move. The flush on her cheeks faded, replaced by a pale white hue of anxiety and shame. She bit her lip, holding back tears. But seeing Tang Zheng ready to turn away, she felt pangs of regret and humiliation, and fiercely kicked his calf.
"Are you going to ignore another girl’s affection?" Airi asked as she kicked. Her skirt flipped up, revealing more of her thigh. Tang Zheng cursed under his breath and pressed down on top of her.
Airi squirmed uneasily.
"You won’t regret it?" Tang Zheng asked, immediately feeling like a fool for ruining the moment. Sure enough, Airi punched him in the chest in response.
Tang Zheng subtly checked the door to make sure it was locked, then began to unbutton Airi’s Chikashima Airi’s school uniform.
"I’ve never seen this before. How do I take it off?" Despite Tang Zheng pretending to play dumb, Airi snorted unbelievingly. Despite this, she still heaved her upper body slightly, blushing as Tang Zheng proceeded.
Tang Zheng ultimately wasn’t proficient, and struggled for a while.
"Sorry." Airi had heard her friends talk about their intimate moments with their boyfriends.
...
Because of this sudden event, Tang Zheng ended up staying in the room for another two hours. He didn’t dare to go into the living room; of course, he had no intention of hiding what happened, but how was he to explain it to everyone? He could disregard the displeasure from Zhang Hao, the policeman, but the real problem was Li Xinlan. After all, she had only been with him a few days prior.
"Whatever, I won’t think about it." Tang Zheng decided to let things be as they may. As for how things would develop, he didn’t care anymore. Maybe he wouldn’t survive this time — so what would be the harm in letting loose a little?
After reasoning this out, Tang Zheng climbed back on top of Airi. They didn’t emerge until the latter half of the night to show themselves in the living room.
"Finished?" Yin Shang Wu was alone in the dark living room when she suddenly spoke, startling Tang Zheng.
"Huh?" Tang Zheng took a seat across from her without turning on the lights, "Are you trying to scare me?"
"The girl’s scent is nice, right? Just so you know, the four stewardesses seem to have some complaints," Yin Shang Wu teased, her eyes still gleaming in the dark. "From my estimations, if you just want to sleep with all of them, it doesn’t seem to be a problem — as long as you can overcome their shame, of course."
"Let’s get back to business." Tang Zheng refocused, realizing Yin Shang Wu was just trying to throw him off.
"What’s your plan?" Yin Shang Wu didn’t mind. She knew that Tang Zheng had already guessed.
"Haven’t you already planned everything out? I feel like we wasted the entire day, even wrote several thorough plans. I felt like a fool. You must have been laughing at me, right?" After spending the night with Airi, Tang Zheng had an epiphany. He recalled what Yin Shang Wu had once told him: she bore a grudge against the Russian Trojan Squad. This assembled all the puzzle pieces, explaining the ’mistake’ that had transpired.
"No, it wasn’t a waste. At least now I understand you better." Yin Shang Wu had decided that if Tang Zheng couldn’t even figure out this much, she would abandon them. But now, it seemed like she could keep this toy around a bit longer.
"Are you sure they’re your enemies?" Tang Zheng was genuinely interested in this topic. "If that’s the case, given our team’s resources, going after them would be suicidal."
