Chapter 1426: Chapter 15: The Female Musketeers, First Battle! (1st Update)

"Smart move, or else I would have used you as bait!" Tang Zheng muttered under his breath. Indeed, he was a good man, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t trick his enemies.

Bai Guo let out a long sigh of relief, anxious about what they would do if persuasion failed, unaware that both the leader and the deputy had already considered an escape plan.

Although Yue Jing had displayed the strength of a Hero Tier 3, neither Tang Zheng nor Dantai considered him a threat. Judging from the current conflict alone, his performance was utterly inadequate, relying solely on combat power to intimidate and showing no sign of strategic thinking.

"Brute!" Dantai and Tang Zheng silently criticized, scrutinizing the trio of tattooed women. Observing the conduct of subordinates could reveal much intelligence, such as the team’s general combat style and their control in team battles.

The tattooed woman, being of the psychic type, felt particularly sensitive, as if being targeted by a snake; the sweat glands on her back even stood on end. She turned around and saw Dantai surveying the environment and Tang Zheng commanding the team, with nothing out of the ordinary.

"Strange, could I be daydreaming about them?" The tattooed woman wondered to herself, but then her expression revealed a longing to try something.

Tang Zheng and Dantai, definitely handsome and charismatic in their own ways, were attractive, and the tattooed woman wasn’t exactly a prudish virgin. In fact, she was considering the thrill of bed play with two men at once.

"Dantai, you take the newbies and go ahead. I’ll cover the rear," Tang Zheng announced with a serious face, making sure his voice was loud.

The newbies who were fleeing in panic saw Tang Zheng heading back and felt admiration as well as guilt, and subconsciously began to follow his orders.

"Is this guy an idiot?" thought the Real Madrid soccer fan, incredulous. It was one thing not to seek benefits as a group leader but quite another to selflessly engage in the dirty and tiring work.

"Not a threat," Yue Jing thought, feeling wary of Tang Zheng after their initial clash. But now, he no longer took Tang Zheng seriously; someone who couldn’t bear to be ruthless was limited in how bad they could be.

"Idiot, uncle is deliberately showing you this, to make you let down your guard," Lu Fan said, running quickly while also observing the trio.

Tang Zheng was trying to gain favor while also deceiving Yue Jing. He understood that in this battle, the death rate for the newbies could almost certainly reach one hundred percent; even if he wanted to help them, it would be useless.

Queen Mu still had some responsibility. Together with Wei Binbai, they held back the beastmen 200 meters away, giving the newbies time to escape. However, ultimately some had such poor physical conditions that even wearing B-Class protective clothing didn’t help their weakness.

"Forget about them, with that quality, they deserve to die," Wei Binbai urged everyone to move faster. The opportunity was given to the newbies, and if they didn’t seize it, they had no right to complain.

"Please, don’t leave us behind," begged the seven newbies at the back, going pale with fright upon hearing Wei Binbai’s shout.

"I’m not joining your madness!" Wei Binbai made a decisive retreat.

"You guys go ahead, I’ll draw the beastmen away," Tang Zheng quickly decided, waving his hand, since there wasn’t much time left, and even if they took cover in shelters, the beastmen could catch up.

"No, I don’t want to die!" One newbie shook his head fervently like a rattle drum, wanting to catch up to Gu Xueqi and the others, but sadly, he was too slow.

The gunshots intensified as the beastmen, no longer suppressed by the Conquerors, grew closer, tearing the trees apart with their bullets.

Two unlucky newbies were torn in half; their visceral organs scattered on the ground as they lay there, their eyes silently staring at the sky, gasping their last breaths.

Tang Zheng, not caring about the consumption, threw grenades to disrupt their vision with smoke, hiding the retreat path of the Conquerors while also drawing their attention.

Several beastmen were blown to bits, leaving no remains.

The accuracy of Tang Zheng’s throws was terrifying; after only two test throws, he had nailed the timing perfectly. They exploded just before landing, scattering shrapnel with great lethality.

The beastmen had no chance to avoid the grenades, which came too quickly from the smoke, striking as swiftly as cannon fire.

A grenade whistled through the air and struck a sturdy beastman on the head, actually knocking it over. Then it exploded, and the shrapnel spread like a heavy rain, embedding into the surrounding tree trunks.

Lightning bolts, twenty or so thick blue streaks, roared out toward Tang Zheng as the commander grew frustrated with the defeat and ordered the beastmen shamans into battle to join the attack.

Tang Zheng dodged swiftly as the lightning crackled around him, trees toppled down, and dust filled the air.

"Ahh!" A female newbie was hit, turning into something like charcoal, with thick smoke rising from her as she collapsed, still alive thanks to her B-Class protective clothing but suffering immensely because of it.

A soldier reached her side and, not wanting to waste a bullet, used his booted foot to kick her head.

With the soil soft, the woman’s head was crushed into the ground, but she wasn’t dead yet.

The Captain charged over, shoving aside his subordinate who had slipped up, and with a loud rebuke, he grasped the chopper and swung it at the newbie woman’s neck, followed by a kick that sent the fallen head flying, shouting for the soldiers to hurry up their attack.

None of the lagging newbies was spared; all met with a tragic death.

To fully draw the attention of the beastmen, Tang Zheng released the female musketeers and allowed them to attack freely, but the number that appeared shocked him.

During the summoning in the Los Angeles night, eight had made him very happy, but now, there were twelve.

The female musketeers still wore Baroque-style uniforms, with red leather corsets of rhinoceros hide adhering tightly to their bodies, making their ample chests quite spectacular. A white shirt with a large, turned-down collar peeked out at the chest, creating a teardrop pattern that revealed lacy underwear and a deep fair cleavage, tempting men to drown in it.

This time, they weren’t in tight riding pants, but instead, their fair thighs were exposed. Their over-the-knee leather boots outlined their leg shapes beautifully.

"Group Leader, I’ve missed you so much!" Marilyn cooed, winding a thigh around Tang Zheng’s waist and planting a fierce kiss on him.

"Get down, to battle!" Tang Zheng slapped Marilyn on the buttocks, "And to think the defense power’s getting worse."

The female musketeers wore leather shorts, each with a rapier, a dagger, and a musket strapped to their belts, but the small pouches for gunpowder and bullets were gone because their weapons had been upgraded from silver muskets to Mauser 98K rifles.

"At your command, sir!" Sophie, as the leader, saluted Tang Zheng before giving orders to her subordinates, "Fire at will."

The female musketeers, carrying canvas combat packs, quickly spread out in a skirmish line and unanimously targeted the orc shamans.

Bang, bang, bang. Amidst a round of dense gunfire, the unsuspecting orc shamans tumbled to the ground, half-felled, with horrific wounds.

"Damn, they’re that strong?" Tang Zheng thought the musketeers’ firepower would be limited even after changing weapons, but the Mauser 98K in their hands was as powerful as S-grade firearms.

The female musketeers weren’t just firing; they had skills now. There was the Soul Ignition Shot, which was a guaranteed hit, the Firepower Roar for group suppression, and even Rapid Reload, ensuring they had sufficient continuous firepower even with bolt-action rifles.

The orc shamans’ lightning throws became even more ferocious, as they tried to suppress the enemy and allow the infantry to quickly break through the lines, with beast armor soldiers in heavy defense moving in front of the shamans to shield from bullets, to no avail.

Alizeh casually ejected a cartridge and reloaded, locking onto a beast armor soldier in her scope. The bullet traced a half-arc as it headed towards its target.

Bang, an orc shaman lurking behind had its head blown off, blood spraying into the air. The unrelased lightning brewing on its weapon exploded, injuring surrounding combat mates.

"Sharp!" Tang Zheng was delighted. Without any need for training, the musketeers were all expert shots and, combined with various gunman skills, they were a powerful force capable of massacring rank-and-file soldiers.

Of course, Tang Zheng wasn’t conceited enough to think that he could use them against Hero Level combatants. The S-grade Mauser 98K might seem formidable, but it couldn’t penetrate the defenses of a hero.

"If only there were more of them, twelve is too few in firepower!" Tang Zheng became greedy for more, but he soon had his opinion changed by the female musketeers.

Three musketeers didn’t attack, instead dashing at top speed to a hundred meters away. Then they shouted.

"Cannon!"

Golden ripples appeared in the air and then three 88-mm caliber cannons materialized in the woods. The musketeers kicked the cannon bodies to adjust the firing angle and then grabbed the lanyard, pulling it hard.

Bang! The muzzle emitted a cloud of white smoke. With no screeching due to the short distance, the cannon shells shot directly into the beastman lines.

Boom, limbs mixed with soil blasted into the sky.

More cannon fire sounded, and Tang Zheng was tossed aside by the blast wave. Many beastmen were on his tail, so his area was a prime target for the cannons, narrowly missing being caught in the blast.

"Be careful." Soil and flesh hailed down like ice, rustling the leaves and dousing Tang Zheng.

The three female musketeers playfully stuck out their tongues, but they didn’t hold back, instead bombarding recklessly. Even a beast armor soldier was reduced to scrap metal under their assault.

"The firepower is comparable to SS-level, capable of firing twice a second, just not sure if there’s a cooldown time." Tang Zheng counted the shots in his head, delighted, "The life energy consumption is also low, such a bargain."

Tang Zheng had braced for a significant drain of life energy to summon so many musketeers, but it turned out to be even less than the energy used when he could only summon Sophie initially.

Tang Zheng was ready for heavy losses; after all, his enhancement through the fire seed and virus fusion meant he could bear the depletion. But now he felt like he had hit a jackpot—though his smile would soon fade. (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian to vote and support me.
