Chapter 1418: Chapter 7: Out of Control (Request for Monthly Passes)
Tang Zheng touched Miranda’s thigh, intending to move her out of the way, but unfortunately failed.
"Enough fooling around, get up!" Tang Zheng suddenly felt that something was off. His heart began to race uncontrollably and his body temperature soared, as his blood coursed through his veins like sea waves.
After the ignition of the fire seed, Tang Zheng should have rested, quietly waiting for his body to adapt. However, Miranda’s seduction and the dazzling beauty nest had the opposite effect, reigniting the remnants of the fire seed’s ability, triggering a second minor activation.
Invisible red electric arcs burst out from Tang Zheng’s body, shooting into Miranda who was pressed beneath him.
The lady of luxury began to tremble, and even without being touched, she comfortably let out a long moan.
"No way?" The nearby ladies were shocked and looked at Tang Zheng in astonishment. Could his charm be that great?
"Group Leader, aren’t you embarrassing yourself?" A tall beauty over 1.8 meters tall strode over, lifting her leg onto the sofa.
Her toes, polished in red, were seductive under the crystal straps of her high-heels.
"Move!" Tang Zheng wanted to find a secluded place to wait for his body to recover, but Miranda stubbornly refused to let go and even entered a beastly state to bind Tang Zheng.
"Playing so rough?" The tall beauty was, at best, of average looks, but she had a dazzling figure.
The other ladies didn’t dare to make light of Miranda; they eagerly reached out to touch Tang Zheng, finding that being near him gave them a comfortably tingling sensation, like a gentle electric shock.
Tang Zheng could no longer control the dispersal of energy, as more and more stray electric arcs escaped from his body.
"Scram!" Miranda shouted angrily, taking a breath. Although she didn’t understand what was happening, she didn’t want those ordinary women to share Tang Zheng.
Seeing the Group Leader wasn’t joking around, the tall beauty’s expression hardened, she grabbed the hair of a woman nearby and pushed her out.
"Everybody out!" The tall beauty threw her wine glass, expelling the women from the room.
The place immediately descended into chaos, bodies fell and tumbled about in the commotion.
Maids quickly arrived to maintain order, and any men who tried to come over to flatter were stopped by them.
"Group Leader, enjoy yourself," said the tall beauty, preparing to leave, but Miranda grabbed her wrist.
"Come here, too!" Miranda exclaimed after she finished speaking, as Tang Zheng abruptly ripped off her evening dress.
"Looks like he’s lost consciousness?" Jessica saw that Tang Zheng’s gaze was unfocused, almost without any point of concentration, "Is he okay?"
Jessica reached for Tang Zheng’s shoulder and immediately felt an electric shock, causing her to jump.
"What’s going on? Is this his ability?" Jessica, being distantly related to Miranda and sharing a minor blood connection, had become her confidant.
Miranda, as a woman with a strong desire for control, would have killed Jack long ago if she hadn’t fancied him as exceptional cannon fodder.
"No, stop talking nonsense, ah!" Miranda had just finished speaking when she couldn’t help but scream.
"You’ve got to be kidding me, you’re a fearless one who’s undergone body strengthening? How could you be overpowered so easily?" Seeing Miranda give in under a minute, Jessica was startled and stared blankly at Tang Zheng.
"What are you waiting for? Help me get him off!" Miranda yelled intermittently, annoyed by Jessica’s incompetence.
Jessica couldn’t move Tang Zheng, so she entered her beastly state, gaining strength, while Miranda also took the opportunity to exert force and rolled off the sofa, escaping Tang Zheng.
After another fierce battle, the sofa was in pieces, and Jessica lay on the ground, pleading with Miranda for help.
...
The next morning, Tang Zheng awoke with a slight headache and found himself lying on the carpet, with Miranda and Jessica asleep beside him.
"The aftermath of the ’Fire Seed’ was too strong," the second minor adjustment gave Tang Zheng’s cells the opportunity to be corrected, becoming more precise and detailed.
"Thank you!" Miranda woke up and also felt the changes in her body. The errant electric arcs, carrying energy that should have been wasted, were mostly absorbed by Miranda, and Jessica also gained a little.
In fact, Miranda had also acted as a conductor. If not for her, the second minor adjustment would not have been initiated. If not for the sheet-tumbling with Tang Zheng that served to vent, the adjustment would not only have failed, but the unmanageable energy would have also damaged Tang Zheng’s genes.
Tang Zheng’s body was still too weak to absorb the Fire Seed entirely. Even a Fourth Order ruptured puppet could not achieve such high efficiency with the Fire Seed as Tang Zheng.
"What exactly do you want from me?" Tang Zheng pulled on some clothes and wrapped them around himself. "Where’s the bathroom?"
Tang Zheng’s hostility toward Miranda had lessened considerably. If she had wanted to kill him, she had plenty of opportunities last night.
"Here’s a list for you." Miranda took out a storage card from her wristwatch. "It contains the intelligence I’ve gathered on the Conquerors."
"Ruptured puppets?" Tang Zheng inquired as he looked at the name at the top of the list, which was labeled Hero Tier Four and marked as extremely dangerous.
"The top figure in North America, even Nuclear Flame is beneath him," declared Miranda with a snap as she slapped Jessica, "No more sleeping, go make breakfast."
"Why are there no photos?" Tang Zheng asked meticulously as he browsed. "The ability is ’Bloody Saint,’ but there’s no detailed description."
"It’s already quite difficult to get this much," Miranda said, gazing doubtfully at Tang Zheng’s chest. "You’re a 2nd tier hero, right? But why do I feel like even your unerupted aura is stronger than the average second tier?"
Jessica sat up.
"I’m sorry!" Tang Zheng apologized, as incidents where relationships happened without any emotions involved repelled him, then he continued to go through the intelligence.
"Darling, you’re amazing," Jessica pounced on Tang Zheng.
...
After completing his morning exercise, when Tang Zheng left the estate, it was almost noon. He declined Miranda’s offer to arrange a driver and sought Jack on his own. He needed time to clear his thoughts.
The sky was cluttered with dark clouds, with no sunlight. Shortly afterward, rain began to drift down, and pedestrians became more hurried, scrambling to take shelter from the rain.
On this alien street amidst different colors of skin, Tang Zheng stood on the street and felt a sense of isolation.
Without an umbrella or hailing a car, Tang Zheng meandered aimlessly along the street. His mind was too cluttered to organize his thoughts.
Half an hour later, Tang Zheng came to a square, where the stone road surface was wet from the rain, and the nearby lawns, dappled with water droplets, appeared even more lush.
Breathing in the damp fresh air, Tang Zheng suddenly didn’t want to move on and sat on a nearby bench, closed his eyes, looked skyward, and let the cool rain wash over his cheeks.
Fluttering, a flock of white pigeons disturbed Tang Zheng’s reverie, landing on the square and preening the feathers on their wings with their beaks.
"Why not seek shelter from the rain?" Tang Zheng wondered; these pigeons seemed accustomed to humans, nonchalantly walking past his feet, pecking at the crevices between stones.
The answer came swiftly; a middle-aged man holding a black umbrella and carrying a bag full of bread appeared on a small path leading to the square.
The pigeons spotted him, cried out, and moved toward him, gathering on the ground like a white carpet.
Because of the umbrella, Tang Zheng could only see the man’s lips, but that was enough to surprise him.
The man’s smile, greeted by the pigeons, was exceptionally graceful. Tang Zheng believed that such a smile alone cold attract the love of many women.
The middle-aged man crouched down, broke the bread into pieces, and fed the pigeons.
Watching the pigeons flock around him, Tang Zheng suddenly understood why they would fly to the square on time even on rainy days—it must have been the man’s years of feeding that had established their biological clock.
