Chapter 1385: Chapter 51 Military Oppression
Carlos was still suspicious. He had already gone ahead to grab firearms and was unable to press further, as some with weaker physiques really couldn’t get up and were sitting on the ground gasping for air.
Without Tang Zheng’s order, Gu Xueqi dared not to give these people food and patrolled very responsibly, holding a gun and monitoring the surroundings.
"Have you been captured for a few days? Don’t you have something like a tracker on you that would allow your group leader to find you?" Tang Zheng handed chocolate to O’Reilly.
"Thank you!" O’Reilly snatched the chocolate with desperate speed, tore open the wrapping with her teeth, and stuffed it into her mouth.
Sitting beside her, those starving for the emergency rations couldn’t help but swallow their saliva.
"Do you want water?" Tang Zheng took out a half-drunk bottle of mineral water and shook it. The sound of the clear water was incredibly enticing, making them thirstier.
"We’ve been kidnapped for two days. Javier and Carlos did have trackers, but for some reason, they’re broken," a talkative woman answered Tang Zheng’s question impatiently.
"Very good!" Tang Zheng threw the mineral water bottle over and took the chance to ask a few more questions, confirming that they were from Argentina and a few were Brazilians.
The woman hadn’t caught the bottle yet when a man beside her, unable to endure the torment of thirst, quickly reached out to snatch it.
Tang Zheng kicked out and hit the man squarely in the face, breaking his nose and shattering two teeth. He fell back, covering his mouth and crying out in pain.
The group of South Americans was stunned, staring at Tang Zheng.
"Stealing a woman’s water, have you no shame?" Tang Zheng swept his gaze over these individuals, issuing a warning, "And that’s my stuff. Without my permission, no one is allowed to use it, or they’ll bear the consequences."
The men were resentful while a few women thought Tang Zheng was very dominant, suddenly feeling a surge of security.
"If you want to eat, go look in the tree houses!" Gu Xueqi wasn’t considering the South Americans’ well-being, but rather wanted them to search the tree houses. If they found anything valuable, human greed would ensure they’d take it, and then it could simply be taken from their hands.
"There’s no time left." Seeing how the ramshackle tribe wouldn’t have much of value, Tang Zheng was ready to retreat, "Javier, are you ready yet? The natives are coming back soon!"
Javier’s team included nine mercenaries. Though they were tortured and exhausted, after being rescued, a fierce light sparked in their eyes and they still had the strength to grab weapons. In less than two minutes, they were fully armed, swinging down on vines.
"Pull yourselves together, let’s go!" Javier, slinging an AK47, pointed at the mangled corpses on the wood piles, "Hurry up, or we’ll become the natives’ lunch."
The South Americans, who were nearly turned into emergency rations, were quite cooperative and hastily began to leave.
"Once we get out of the natives’ pursuit, there will be enough water and food." Javier proved to be a capable team leader, distributing collected supplies, giving firearms priority to those with experience.
Ten minutes later, the entire team had barely covered less than five hundred meters. The treacherous jungle environment, coupled with poor physical conditions, slowed the South Americans down considerably.
"No, we need to go faster!" Javier, sweating profusely and hoarse, urged them on.
"Boss, let’s leave them as bait so we might run away. Otherwise, we’ll all get caught," suggested the head bodyguard, considering fleeing. If it weren’t for Javier being a tycoon and the employer for this Inca Golden City exploration team, he would have thought about abandoning Javier too.
"Wait a little longer. Maybe it’s not as bad as you think!" Javier glanced at Tang Zheng’s back and followed after him.
"Yeah, with this man here, we shouldn’t have to worry!" Remembering how Tang Zheng burst into the tribe and speared more than a dozen indigenous people with a javelin, Javier suddenly felt confident.
"Are you Americans?" O’Reilly followed behind Tang Zheng, striking up a conversation to build rapport, hoping to get his help in times of danger.
Tang Zheng was eager for that, humoring O’Reilly and getting quite a bit of information from her, though it wasn’t very valuable, but it was better than being completely in the dark.
"It’s strange that South America isn’t under the control of Red Trojan Horse!" Tang Zheng’s questioning was interrupted when Javier caught up.
"Aren’t you tired carrying two travel bags? Let me help you!" Javier approached with a smile, reaching out to take the bags.
"No need, they’re not heavy!" Tang Zheng sidestepped, avoiding Javier’s hand.
"Not heavy?" The mercenary leader caught up, stunned for a moment. He scrutinized the travel bags closely. Bulging as they were, they must weigh at least a hundred pounds, yet Tang Zheng said they weren’t heavy?
O’Reilly and others nearby also showed surprised expressions, looking at Tang Zheng as if seeing a monster. Just the weight of the AK47 and the squad automatic weapon on his chest alone was more than they could bear. Then, they looked at Gu Xueqi.
The school beauty’s travel bag was also large, nearly a meter long, resting on her back, blocking the moonlight filtering through the leaves, but she carried it effortlessly, holding the rifle, always following behind Tang Zheng.
"Are you really injured?" O’Reilly couldn’t help but ask. Tang Zheng was covered in bloodstains, with bandages on some parts, looking seriously wounded. Yet his actions were stronger than a healthy adult.
"I was born physically superior!" Tang Zheng tried to change the subject, but there were always those clueless guys around.
"Physically superior? I heard that Chinese men are pretty small; they can’t even satisfy their own women!" A towering two-meter giant with a beard, noticing the shift in everyone’s gaze, swung his hips suggestively and ridiculed Tang Zheng.
He was a retired Soldier, chewing on Food at the time, like a ferocious Wild Beast feasting, having long forgotten the debt he owed to Tang Zheng for saving his life, he just thought Tang Zheng was conceited and wanted to teach him a lesson.
The mercenaries burst into laughter, their courage boosted with Firearms in hand; no longer regarding Tang Zheng as a threat.
"Is that so? But I think a Chinese man could satisfy a dozen Latin beauties in one night with no problem, care to have a contest?" Tang Zheng grinned, seizing O’Reilly’s ample Chest and kneading it with his hand.
O’Reilly’s Protective Clothing was damaged, exposing most of her breast~flesh, which kept changing shape under Tang Zheng’s rough handling.
Tang Zheng bent down and kissed O’Reilly on the lips.
The Latin beauty, out of self-preservation, responded with passion, reaching for Tang Zheng’s chest, her excitement growing upon feeling his solid muscles.
"This man is even stronger than he looks!" O’Reilly lifted one of her beautiful legs and hooked it onto Tang Zheng’s thigh, rubbing it gently.
South Americans watching this provocative scene felt a pang of envy but had no other thoughts other than wanting to survive.
"You’re asking for it!" the bearded giant, feeling humiliated, angered, approached to deal with Tang Zheng.
The mercenary Team Leader initially wanted to stop his reckless subordinate, but after catching Javier’s gaze and a subtle shake of his head, he gave up.
Javier kept an eye on Tang Zheng, curious about his real strength as the previous combat had ended too swiftly to judge.
Gu Xueqi saw the bearded giant approaching, frowned, and stepped forward to block him.
"Get out of the way!" Looking at the pretty campus queen, the bearded giant’s eyes lit up, eager to show off, and deliberately reached out to grab her Chest.
"Seeking death!" Gu Xueqi’s expression changed; her right hand shot out like lightning, grabbing the bearded giant’s fingers, twisting them hard, then her right foot rose, aiming a kick at his knee.
With a thud, the bearded giant screamed as he was kicked into the air, then following Gu Xueqi’s pull, he crashed down into the decayed fallen leaves.
"Stop!" the Team Leader and Javier rushed to intervene.
Gu Xueqi’s foot had already struck down hard onto the bearded giant’s back, and had they not needed these guys as Cannon Fodder, the campus beauty would have crippled him then and there.
"We’re all on the same side here; we should be pulling together, stop fighting!" Javier tried to mediate the situation with a smile, while the sweat on his forehead streamed down; the bearded giant was his personal bodyguard, a veteran with experience in special forces, yet, to his astonishment, was knocked down in an instant by a girl not even twenty.
"Is it you who are worthless, or is she just too strong?" Javier’s mouth twitched.
"Aren’t you going to scram?" The Team Leader also felt embarrassed.
"Hmph, you can’t even beat me, and you want to mess with our Group Leader? Got holes in your brain?" Gu Xueqi scorned the bearded giant in flawless Spanish.
Everyone was stunned at Gu Xueqi’s ferocity, then they turned to look at Tang Zheng, who was still kissing O’Reilly, speculating on how strong he might be.
"Coward, scram now; if not for the beauty, I wouldn’t even bother traveling with you lot!" Tang Zheng exposed his arm around O’Reilly, deliberately posing as a Playboy to disguise his true motive for staying.
O’Reilly hugged Tang Zheng’s waist, feeling his strength, growing damp down below.
"That’s enough, stop it, sir, I apologize for my companion’s recklessness," Javier tried to make peace, "What do you suggest we do next?"
"If we go on like this, we’re sure to be caught by the Natives. How about splitting into two teams? This could create two possibilities: one, the Natives might chase after one team, allowing the other some time to escape; two, the Natives divide up, which would also be to our advantage, as their power would be reduced." Knowing not everyone could escape, the Team Leader decisively suggested to sacrifice some.
The mercenaries immediately agreed.
"How can you ensure a fair division? If the Natives all chase one team, isn’t that team doomed?" Someone dissatisfied coldly Blamed.
"I am the fairness!" the Team Leader glared back.
"What’s this? The Natives haven’t even arrived, and you’re already fighting amongst yourselves?" Tang Zheng intentionally interrupted; he wasn’t afraid of the Natives and had no intention of letting these people split since each one of them was useful Cannon Fodder to him, valueless only if dead.
Tang Zheng’s behavior won everyone’s favor; they weren’t fools, knowing that once teams were divided, those with distant relationships would undoubtedly be abandoned. (To be continued.
