Chapter 1330: Chapter 8: Bloody
Under the night, the city lights were bright, and the neon lights dazzled with colors as Tang Zheng stared at the Ford car driven by the man in black, his gaze surveying the surroundings from the corner of his eye.
"It seems more advanced than the technology in the real world!" From some basic facilities, one could catch a glimpse of the truth; Tang Zheng also saw several types of cars whose names he couldn’t even pronounce.
The black-clad man’s car wasn’t fast, and when they passed a hot dog stand, the short-haired black man got out, bought five, and ordered a drink.
From a distance, Tang Zheng couldn’t hear the conversation; at such times, he missed Dantai. Although he had crammed knowledge on tailing, he still fell short compared to a professional special agent.
Ten minutes later, the Ford stopped in front of a supermarket, and Tang Zheng boldly parked his car behind it and followed inside.
The two men in black didn’t seem interested in shopping; the white man talked to the cashier while his black companion circled around the shelves, approaching an employee who was arranging goods.
"You’d better not run or I’ll blow your head off!" The black man pulled out a gun.
As Tang Zheng entered through the door, he caught the white man giving him an imperceptible glance. He wanted to walk by as if nothing was amiss and release a detection spider for surveillance, but the cashier stopped him.
"Sorry, we are closing!" Under the white man’s gaze, the cashier nervously tried to expel Tang Zheng.
"Why? I clearly saw two customers come in; I just want to buy some snacks, it will be quick!" Tang Zheng didn’t want to compromise and quickened his pace.
"Didn’t you hear me telling you to leave?" The cashier, already furious at being approached by the white man, was so irritated at Tang Zheng’s persistence that he felt like slaughtering him.
"Sir, we are closed!" The white man stepped back, blocking Tang Zheng’s way, but his attention was on the cashier. "Calm down, do you want to go to prison?"
The cashier’s large nostrils flared as he breathed heavily, and the hand he had under the counter had turned tentacle-like.
"This is racial discrimination, and I will have my lawyer sue you; wait for the court subpoena!" Tang Zheng knew he couldn’t force his way in any longer. He promptly left since the black man had already come out, adjusting his tie, evidently having finished his business.
Tang Zheng drove away and connected his communicator.
"Qin Yan, I found a supermarket that might host aliens. Bring some people, and let’s exterminate them," Tang Zheng described the supermarket’s location, believing in her ability to find it, "And don’t forget to interrogate them for information!"
"Understood!" Qin Yan quickly named her team. "Mu Nianqi, Bai Guo, Lu Fan, Xin Lan, Yixin, come with me."
"How about I go?" Lin Weiguo felt he should get involved.
"Just wait for further instructions, and meanwhile, keep an eye on the newbies!" Mu Nianqi thought Qin Yan was overreacting, "Let Lu Fan stay, and switch to three newbies."
This time, the Ford didn’t stop and parked directly in front of a building.
"Is this their workplace?" Tang Zheng hesitated before deciding not to enter since he didn’t know the building’s function. He was stopped by security, and giving the wrong response could alarm the enemies.
The chef at the Chinese restaurant was very skilled; his dishes were delicious, allowing some of the newbies to momentarily forget their troubles and immerse themselves in a feast.
"Where’s the restroom?" Manager Tang, having drunk a bit too much, asked a waiter, then called four KTV security guards to accompany him. Being in unfamiliar territory and having recently endured a skirmish had left him somewhat scared.
The named security guards were reluctant to leave the group, but having previously worked under Manager Tang, his authority still held sway, and they unhappily set down their chopsticks.
Walking down a corridor with white walls, Manager Tang entered the restroom, stood in front of a urinal, unbuckling his belt while cursing.
"What the hell is this place?" Manager Tang spat, "These protective clothes are such a hassle, I think they’re useless. If we meet the alien species, we’re dead anyway."
"Do you think we could be dreaming?" one of the security guards was still hoping.
The crisp sound of high heels tapping on the floor grew closer, then suddenly stopped. Startled, Manager Tang and his company looked up to see two female waitresses standing by the door, arms crossed, looking at them suggestively and batting their eyelashes.
"What’s going on? This is a men’s restroom, right?" Experienced in various situations, Manager Tang was not intimidated.
"Sir, would you like some special service? Only 300 US dollars?" The waitress approached before even receiving an answer.
"So, it’s just prostitutes looking to make extra money. You startled me," one of the security guards sighed in relief, however, his gaze soon leered at the waitresses, "But they are really high-quality!"
The two slim waitresses, busty and sporting buns, swayed their long legs with steps that allowed glimpses of their fair thighs through the splits in their cheongsams—they weren’t wearing silk stockings, but their allure was undeniable.
Manager Tang initially wanted to refuse, but the sight of such attractive women made him swallow his words.
"We don’t have money!" mumbled one of the guards, his lust apparent as he nearly reached out to grab the woman’s chest.
"Manager, calm down. Our current situation doesn’t allow for such indulgence," fortunately, there was still a sensible security guard among them, though he underestimated a man’s resistance to beautiful women.
"What danger could there be? Besides, the restaurant lobby is just less than fifty meters away," a guard argued, unable to resist such prime commodities, which in a KTV would cost several thousand for a night.
