Chapter 1302: Chapter 56 The Conspiracy of the Clone

A crystal clear teleportation gate appeared in the lobby, opening up like the gaping maw of a monster, welcoming the Warhammer team.

"Look around, see if there’s a bronze key dropped somewhere." Tang Zheng couldn’t find the key and was puzzled, he had thought that by killing the boss, the prop would surely drop.

Everyone shook their heads; aside from rubble and corpses, there was nothing else.

"Let’s go in, what are we waiting for?" Teng Yuangxiang cocked her head, letting the newbies scout ahead, a dirty job she was already quite adept at.

The newbies all wore disgusted expressions as they slowly moved forward, Teng Little Three grew impatient, grabbed a newbie, and tossed them into the teleportation gate.

"Let’s just bury the Corpse here!" Making use of the minute waiting time, Tang Zheng dug a hole and buried Li Xinlan, then entered the teleportation gate; he was worried that being overtaken by a clone would lead to an ambush.

Mu Nianqi had the same thought, assisting Gu Xueqi into the gate, being with Tang Zheng would help disperse the enemy’s firepower since, at any time, the Group Leader is the primary target.

Qin Yan was about to follow but was pulled back by Bai Guo, who cast her a ’wait a moment’ look, so she stopped.

Pang Meiqin and Teng Yuangxiang didn’t notice her subtle action, and eager as they were, they chased after Tang Zheng, feeling safe only by being with him.

The counterfeit bunch stayed back, looking towards Bai Guo.

"’Mu Nianqi’ and ’Tang Zheng’ what exactly are they doing? Haven’t they wiped out the other team yet? The game is getting tougher; if this continues, we’ll all be dead without the real bodies lifting a finger," Bai Guo said with a ferocious look, growling lowly.

"Shut up, I’m warning you, don’t talk nonsense; if the real bodies hear us, we’re dead," Qin Yan glared fiercely at Bai Guo, ready to enter the gate. "We’ll talk about this issue later."

"That’s not okay, Li Xinlan died worthless, like a torn rag, I don’t want to end up like her," Bai Guo roughly grabbed Qin Yan.

"You’re worried about your own injury, aren’t you?" Jing Xiang mocked, her usual timidness nowhere to be seen.

"Bullshit, we were just slacking off, Tang Zheng must be suspicious, he might use us to test traps next," Bai Guo looked down on Jing Xiang. "Remember, we’re just clones, even with disguise, there are differences in character and expressions from the real bodies."

"Thirty seconds are up, if we delay any longer, Tang Zheng will become suspicious." After the two clones spoke, they rushed into the teleportation gate, Bai Guo was annoyed but helpless.

"Wait a bit longer, if the other team of clones doesn’t show up, then we’ll move."

The one in charge spoke and went through the gate, the rest had no choice but to follow.

Darkness faded to reveal they had returned to the desolate Fairy Tale Town, under the oppressive dark clouds, a drizzle dampening the cobblestones.

A slightly ajar door stood in the middle of Long Street, light spilling from the gap, Tang Zheng opened his shield and pushed it open.

Before him was a corridor made of transparent crystal, wide enough for a hundred meters, then it split into a crossroads, with more doors on either side of the corridor, all closed.

Qin Yan emerged from the teleportation gate, took a quick glance, and noticed Tang Zheng was distracted by the door; she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Should we send a newbie to scout?" Teng Yuangxiang definitely wouldn’t go herself; she casually grabbed a University girl’s hair, intending to drag her into the crystal corridor.

"Let me go, I don’t want to do this," the University girl was terrified, struggling frantically, only to be viciously slapped several times by Teng Little Three, nearly fainting.

"Stop hitting her, there’s no need!" Tang Zheng intervened, stopping Teng Little Three, and summoned three female Musketeers to act as scouts.

Sophie and Alizeh had just stepped over the threshold when they burst into black flames, instantly turning to ashes.

"Master, it’s so scary!" Marilyn clung to Tang Zheng, her full bosom pressing against him, "I’ve missed you so much, I’m almost sick with longing."

Tang Zheng had no time for idle chatter with the Musketeer, pushing her away. "Dantai, use your Demon Viper."

Dantai had already obeyed, but the viper likewise failed to enter the door, bursting into char the moment it touched it.

"Stop trying, there’s a limit, only survivors can enter." Mu Nianqi had encountered this situation before; she stepped through the door and, as expected, nothing happened, "This is an alternate dimension, our mission should involve finding something, or killing someone."

"Attention, the fourth phase of the mission has started. Survivors have twelve hours to kill Snow White and the Queen. Failure will result in eradication punishment for all."

"What’s inside this?" Dantai asked Trojan, hoping for some intel, "Snow White’s den?"

"The key to killing Snow White is to gather six keys, they are hidden within the Crystal Palace, so even if it’s into the Dragon’s Den, you must push forward!" Trojan jeered gleefully at the Toys, "Just a reminder, if you encounter a monster after opening a door, try to kill it otherwise the consequences will be severe."

"The Crystal Palace had numerous rooms, necessitating a split into at least five small teams for the operation. Please arrange your team members wisely."

Everyone perked up their ears and listened intently, afraid to miss a single word, but the Trojan fell silent, stumping everyone.

"Hey, divulge a bit more." Lu Fan played cute, but all it returned was mockery.

"You can use your own lives to probe, pity though. If there were more newbies, things might be a bit better." The Trojan didn’t dare provoke Queen Mu, instead turning its attention to Tang Zheng, "Good guy Tang, keep up the hard work!"

"What do we do? Start the operation now?" Teng Yuangxiang attempted to show her presence but was ignored as several key players were deep in thought.

The newbies, too, thought about escaping the cannon fodder fate, but regrettably, they were powerless like lab rats under absolute power.

"Morale is not up to par, rest for half an hour before we start the assault!" Qin Yan proposed proactively, catching Dantai’s signal.

"Indeed, everyone is quite weary, go take a rest!" Bai Guo supported, taking Qin Yan’s hand, and headed to one of the row of wooden houses to find a place to rest.

Tang Zheng didn’t look at Bai Guo, but he mentally marked her with a red cross. Normally, the natural stupid one didn’t have the courage to act on her own and was always Qin Yan’s shadow.

"Go eat and rest, we’ll regroup in an hour." Mu Nianqi wasn’t impulsive either. They had just fought Cinderella, the team needed to regather and, moreover, use the time to think of solutions. Rushing in would only mean certain death.

"Brother Lin, give the newbies some food, then come to my room." Tang Zheng walked towards a wooden house; he had no wish to spend the night on the rainy streets of the small town.

The Conquerors didn’t gather together, but dispersed according to the degrees of their relationships.

"Let’s escape!" While eating canned beef in the depressing atmosphere, finally, a newbie suggested.

"You can’t escape. If caught and brought back, you’ll definitely be the first to be used as cannon fodder." Sun Jingshan understood the situation very clearly.

"How would you know if you don’t try?" The speaker was a long-haired girl, somewhat in turmoil and stubborn as a dead duck, "Would you rather just sit here waiting to die?"

Others couldn’t be bothered to argue back. The power shown by the Conquerors was beyond their resistance. Besides, Fairy Tale Town was surrounded by dangers, a wrong move could lead to being eaten by a monster.

"No one is stopping you." Zhao Yunwu spat out in frustration, feeling his IQ wasn’t bad, just lacking in strength. Otherwise, he would definitely be able to toy with those Conquerors, his words also intended to provoke the alumni, to have her do the probing. If it was safe outside, he too wanted to run.

"Escape, then, why not? Better take a chance than just dying." The long-haired girl stood up furiously and dashed into the rain.

Qin Yan folded her arms and leaned against the doorpost, watching the girl coldly, doing nothing to stop her.

"Don’t be rash, come back!" Some students were enthusiastic, even shouting out, with two of them giving chase.

There were also those who watched indifferently, hoping the long-haired girl would succeed.

"Stop shouting, be careful the Conquerors hear you." Zhao Yunwu roared low to scare his classmates; he was worried their clamor might change the long-haired girl’s mind, which would be bad.

"If it’s safe around, I could completely leave, hide until the twelve hours are over, they kill Snow White, then I could also survive. Otherwise, we all die together, and being used as cannon fodder, I’d definitely die sooner." Zhao Yunwu’s calculations were meticulous, weighing the pros and cons, not yet considering how to face the Conquerors’ rage if he managed to survive. Maybe none of them would make it.

The long-haired girl rushed out of Fairy Tale Town, as nothing happened, she excitedly dashed towards the dense forest, confident they wouldn’t find her once inside.

"Idiot, didn’t even consider if she has any wilderness survival experience." Pang Meiqin held her coffee cup, glanced over, then sat back down, leaving the girl to her fate.

Two chasing alumni, seeing her advance, quickened their steps, attempting escape, but the next moment, froze in place.

A giant, six meters tall, wearing a beast skin skirt, and a fluffy beard, walked out from the dense forest, lunging at the long-haired girl, who stood petrified, ran a few steps, and was soon caught by the giant, smacked like swatting a fly, crushed into a bloody mess.

The giant happily made its way over, picked up the critically injured girl, yanked off her head, shook it a few times, then tossed it into his mouth.

The newbies were terrified, watching the giant’s slasher-like teeth mangle their classmate’s body, the legs dangling outside the lips, twitching unconsciously, it was horrific.

The two alumni who had chased out quickly ran back, thankfully, the giant didn’t pursue but began wandering outside the town, clearly to prevent them from leaving.

"What a waste of cannon fodder." Jing Xiang stood by the window, rather frustrated.

"Forget about them, what about us? Entering the palace in teams, we’d surely face almost certain death. How about we strike here? Tang Zheng has a team mission exemption card, right? If we get it, we could leave this cursed game." Bai Guo was impatient.

"This is a major purge theme, it can’t be used." Dantai dispelled Bai Guo’s idea, "Otherwise, I would’ve acted already."

"You’re wrong, it can be used, you’ve forgotten, the Group Leader has another one, and they are the Fearless, granted special privileges." A shadow suddenly entered the room, to the delight of the Clones! (To be continued. If you like this work, you’re welcome to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendations, monthly tickets.
