Chapter 1274 - 28 Fierce Bride

Chapter 1274: Chapter 28 Fierce Bride

Under the manipulation of the Ghost Bride, the Sea of Roses could both defend and attack, transforming into a sharp instrument of murder. Li Xinlan’s Ice Age and Lu Fan’s Sasha ability were area attacks with devastating power; naturally, the Bride would target them first.

Clad in a white bridal gown, the Bride fluttered like a dancing butterfly, and after sending Li Xinlan flying, she executed a graceful swallow flip, landing amidst the sea of flowers.

A vibrant rose suddenly rose, its petals furiously spreading, creating a floral carpet upon which the Bride’s slender legs stepped, her body leaning forward. With a light tap of her high-heels on a flower, she shot towards Li Xinlan like a bullet.

The floral carpet exploded and petals fell thick and fast, following behind the Bride, mixing with a hazy drizzle that made the battlefield astonishingly beautiful.

Li Xinlan quickly retreated, swinging her right hand and dragging the frost from her fingertips that swelled in an instant to form an ice wall.

The Bride spat out a Soul Bomb, blasting the ice wall to pieces. However, another appeared before her, hindering her pursuit.

The young woman didn’t use the ice fort for defense; doing so would cut off her escape route. Beneath her feet, the ice layer extended, freezing the relentlessly growing roses that sought to attack her.

The members of the Warhammer team had no interest in the beautiful petal rain, their hearts pounding with fear at the Bride’s formidable strength. Among the panicked newbies, a bold and detail-oriented university student found the drive to tap into his potential.

"Stop running around! Come here and form up for defense," Zhao Yunwu said, grabbing a fallen classmate and running towards Gu Xueqi and Song Xin’s position.

Zhao Yunwu was no muscle-bound Baton of strength, but he was also no fool.

With roses blanketing the sky, leaving no escape for the newbies, the only option was to survive until the Conquerors killed the Ghost Bride. Thus, the pressing issue was how to last during that time.

"Lu Fan’s offense isn’t fierce as she skirts the Battle Circle. That way, after everyone runs to her side, they might last a little longer, and as a child, her spirit isn’t as selfish as other adults. If we are attacked, she might lend a hand," Zhao Yunwu observed the battlefield, thinking swiftly. "No, she’s a child, which also means her strength is weak. The Ghost Bride is likely to kill her first."

Zhao Yunwu dived to avoid the wayward Vines, and when he got up, he saw a Flame Phoenix shatter a dozen vines, a lightbulb going off in his head as he ran towards Gu Xueqi.

"They’re healers and haven’t attacked the Bride much. Plus, if they’re targeted, Tang Zheng will surely save them. So being near these two girls is the safest," he realized, watching Gu Xueqi and Song Xin together, either casting Healing Magic or destroying the roses targeting them, and knew his guess was correct.

Unsure what to do, the newbies could only run blindly towards Zhao Yunwu. Of course, three completely frazzled by fear ignored his warning, and in less than ten seconds, became human-shaped bouquets impaled by the roses.

Watching Zhao Yunwu stumble and roll, avoiding attacks and running over in disarray, Gu Xueqi glanced at him without complaint despite him drawing more vines their way. Instead, she shot out a Flame Phoenix, giving him a hand.

"Thank you!" Zhao Yunwu was immensely grateful; this was no time for pride. He didn’t want to be thrown out due to a slight.

The Ghost Bride turned her head, giving Gu Xueqi a glance, and the newbies bristled, shivering and tensing their muscles, ready to run. But they were lucky, as the full force of the Conquerors’ attack kept the Bride too busy to deal with them, sending only vines to entangle them.

Most of the newbies scrambled to their sanctuary, but there are always those dreadfully unlucky. Two female university students got their ankles caught by the chaotically scrambling vines within the flowers, falling to the ground.

"Save me!" a student called out, reaching for help and crying to her peers, but the newbies were powerless to help.

Dragged through the sea of flowers, the rose thorns shredded their cheeks, leaving ghastly trails of blood, and shortly they were hoisted into the air.

"Please, save her!" Zhao Yunwu alone seemed to have the luxury to say such things, while the other newbies, despite their willingness, were utterly focused on their own survival.

Ratatat, with Gu Xueqi manning the machine gun, the vine wrapped around the students’ ankles were cut, but before one could fall, more vines like fountains shot up from the ground and impaled her, causing blood to rain down.

Under the attack akin to a thousand arrows piercing the heart, the student screamed in agony, her voice tearing.

The other student wasn’t so lucky either, though she suffered an easier death. Vines mummified her and dragged her before the Ghost Bride.

The Bride grasped the student’s hair and, as if the vines had a life of their own, they tore off the student’s Protective Clothing. The Bride opened her cherry lips and bit on her neck.

Blood stained the Bride’s white teeth, as Ai Yixin’s Shadowless Bow released a volley of arrows which the Bride dodged; the female university student’s corpse was blasted into Broken Flesh, scattering over the sea of flowers.

The Steel Sky continued to fire Particle Beams, and with Kirov’s aerial dropped Bombs, the field was almost churned into mud that protected blossoming flowers, but in the blink of an eye, they grew back again.

"The bombardment is useless; we can’t destroy the Sea of Roses without killing the Bride," Ruan Feifei shouted, finding that lightning was very ineffective against plants, and their attacks on the Bride were all dodged.

"It is useful; at least we don’t have to be entangled with the Sea of Roses and can focus on attacking the Bride," said Mu Nianqi. The air blades spinning around her body were shot toward the Bride. Her ability was not limited to offense; she was even more adept at defense. The Charm of Reflection and the Northern Wind Ring could completely withstand the hits of a 2nd tier hero.

"Come and help me!" The Bride had set her sights on Li Xinlan and pursued her, causing the young woman to spew blood in anger.

Ruan Feifei swung her arm and threw a thunderball, which expanded in the wind and instantly formed a huge blue Electric Net, enveloping the Bride.

Vines screamed and shot up from the ground, piercing through it.

"Reaper!" Jing Lan’s Defense Shield was shattered by the stab of a rose, and her legs were entangled by vines that instantly began to suck blood, causing dizziness as if she had lost a lot of blood at once.

The Ghost Reaper finally returned in time, cutting off the vines, but Jing Lan was severely weakened and could only fend for herself. However, Tao Ran’s Time-space Blackfish stubbornly pursued and ferociously tore at the Bride.

"Are you alright?" Black Long Straight ran to Jing Lan’s side, surrounded by a Sigh Wall, which could accelerate the passage of time. Any attack entering its range would be deflected and then disappear.

Tao Ran bestowed the effect of Calamity Claw on everyone’s weapons, which, sadly, weren’t enough to even harm the Bride’s clothing hem, except for Tang Zheng and Mu Nianqi.

The Bride caught up with Li Xinlan, who had inadvertently been entangled by vines, and transformed her finger into a knife, thrusting toward the young woman’s heart. Mustering all her strength, Li Xinlan managed to dodge the critical spot but was still stabbed in the shoulder.

Li Xinlan screamed in agony as blood splattered out in clumps. The Bride didn’t stop her assault and spat out a Soul Bomb toward her head. She then grabbed and tore out a hole with her right hand.

In a life-and-death crisis, Li Xinlan entered a berserk state, and a layer of frost armor immediately solidified over her body, blocking the Soul Bomb. However, she was still blasted away, her face a bloody mess.

Mu Nianqi intervened in time to stop the Bride; otherwise, Li Xinlan would have surely died. Tang Zheng hesitated, contemplating letting the young woman and the boss fight to the death.

Gu Xueqi’s Healing Phoenix landed on Li Xinlan’s face, repairing the wound, and Song Xin’s Healing Magic was also accurate. Bathed in white light, the pain subsided considerably, but she still took out a potion and drank it.

"Tang Zheng, what are you thinking? Attack now!" Mu Nianqi roared, "Stab her with the Soul Dagger!"

"Can’t you see the dagger is useless? It must be that Wild cat lying!" Lu Fan clearly saw Tang Zheng had just stabbed the Bride’s thigh, but contrary to expectations, she was not injured and instead continued to ferociously chase everyone.

"Don’t lose heart; let’s kill her together!" Tang Zheng had no choice but to go all out. If he didn’t give his all, everyone would be killed. At this moment, he was certain, even if some were imposters, they wouldn’t collude with those bosses, and Li Xinlan was the most obvious example.

Tang Zheng rushed within ten meters of the Bride. Three female Musketeers suddenly appeared and grabbed her waist and arms.

Although the Bride soon broke free from the hold, this slight delay was long enough for Tang Zheng to get close. The Bride had already spotted the Soul Dagger in his left hand and didn’t want to take the hit head-on. She performed a backflip, her legs rising from below to kick at his chin.

Tang Zheng reached out his big hand and grabbed the Bride’s left ankle, but her High-heels suddenly shot off, striking his cheek.

The Beetle Shell and Demon Shield popped up, blocking the hit. The High-heels exploded, scattering petals and obstructing the view.

The Bride twisted her waist and spun like a top. Her right leg whipped toward his cheek.

Tang Zheng sharply caught the Bride’s movement and stabbed with the dagger, hitting the calf. He then yanked, cutting through the Garter Stockings and flesh, but the Bride’s movement was unfazed. She kicked the Shield, pushing him back a couple of steps.

The Bride sneered and headed toward Li Xinlan, her leg wound visibly healing. Without activating the Soul Dagger’s effect, she posed no threat.

"I must have missed something," Tang Zheng frowned, deep in thought, as he watched the Bride’s mocking smile. A Clone summoned with his Crystal Heart appeared behind her, grabbing her slim waist, followed by a German suplex-style throw, smashing her to the ground.

The Bride lay on the ground, legs spread, revealing white panties beneath her skirt. But she immediately propped herself up with her hands and spun up like a top, her beautiful legs stricking like a Windmill incessantly against the Clone’s head, knocking it over.

"The dagger should have a trigger chance; stab her a few more times," Mu Nianqi suggested, blocking the Bride with a knife and a gun in each hand. "If it doesn’t work, let me use it."

"Easy for you to say!" The Bride’s movements were rapid, comparable to Hero Mode. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have beaten the Conquerors into such a sorry state. If not for two Fourth Order heroes holding their ground, they would’ve faced Team Annihilation.

Tang Zheng threw caution to the wind, and with a thought, a piece of the Xuanwu Protective Clothing on his left arm loosened, revealing his skin. Without hesitation, he plunged the Soul Dagger into his flesh. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote and support on Qidian. Your support is my greatest motivation.)"
