Chapter 1059: Chapter 34 The Majesty of the Police Officer

Pike hadn’t yet grasped the meaning of Tang Zheng’s words when he was shocked nearly to the point of popping his eyeballs out; he saw Tang Zheng grab his subordinate’s hair and fiercely smash his head onto the car roof.

The subordinate screamed pitifully, and as Tang Zheng let go, the blood flowing from his broken nose left a red streak on the police car.

All the hooligans from the small gang were stunned and looked toward Pike.

"Hey, didn’t you want to fight? So what are you waiting for?" Tang Zheng took off his black police baton hanging from his waist, knocked it against the palm of his left hand, and approached Pike.

"Everyone get him, beat him up!" Pike, intimidated by Tang Zheng’s composure, knew he had no way out and, grinding his teeth, bellowed.

Hearing their boss’s command, the hooligans roared angrily, swung their baseball bats and choppers, and charged forward to embolden themselves.

Tang Zheng couldn’t be bothered to dodge; he swung his police baton, knocked away the first baseball bat aiming for his head, and then struck another hooligan on the mouth, who, like a spinning top hit by a whip, tumbled away, spitting out several blood-stained teeth.

With an unstoppable stride, Tang Zheng moved as if he were in an empty realm, heading straight for Pike, his police baton flying up and down in his hand like a lark weaving through thorns, knocking down hooligans. Any that came at him with choppers or aimed at his head were met with heavy blows, the sound of fractures rang out incessantly.

Christina, walking by with an umbrella and eating a hamburger, wondered where she could find news when she saw through the drizzle a police officer struggling with a group of hooligans, the blood mixing with the rainwater on the streets turned red.

"So cool!" Christina noticed that Tang Zheng’s police uniform was soaked through and clung to his body, but it only added a sense of purity and unwavering determination. She immediately took out her camera from her bag and captured the scene.

Old Joseph, who had been looking forward to the show, was stunned as he gazed at the street, the rusty fork dropping onto the table. In under five seconds, the young man had taken down fifteen hooligans, his striking power was terrifying beyond words, he started trembling, feeling that he had provoked big trouble.

Tang Zheng, stepping through puddles, arrived in front of Pike, who was holding a chopper. After witnessing his brutal strength, Pike was too scared to move.

"What are you doing with that knife? Planning to chop me?" Tang Zheng’s tone was indifferent as he prodded Pike’s waist with the police baton, lifting the hem of his shirt, "You’re not carrying any contraband, are you?"

"No, officer, I was just passing by!" Pike reacted, immediately dropping the chopper, standing upright, "I don’t have any contraband; I’m a law-abiding citizen."

"Judging by how adept you are at this, seems like you’ve been to prison quite a few times." Tang Zheng walked behind Pike, hands clasped behind his back.

"Reporting to the officer, only three times," Pike reported loudly. But before he could finish, he let out a scream.

Tang Zheng waved the police baton and struck it hard against Pike’s thigh, causing him to take a step forward and immediately shudder.

"Three times is still not few, huh!" Tang Zheng struck again, "Shut your mouth."

Pike gasped in pain, but it hurt so much that he couldn’t help groaning.

"Can’t understand human speech? I told you to shut up." Tang Zheng moved to Pike’s front and began beating him fiercely, causing him to cower and squat on the ground, begging for mercy.

"Officer, you’re violating human rights doing this!" Christina, who never expected the righteous young officer to turn into a brute so quickly, was taken aback and rushed over to stop him.

"Hehe, why don’t you ask the gentleman if he needs human rights?" Tang Zheng turned his head, recognizing the blonde woman as the one he had a fleeting encounter with at Federer’s law firm.

"Is that you?" the blonde beauty also remembered Tang Zheng.

"Miss, this is a misunderstanding," Pike didn’t dare to refute and only wished for this woman to leave quickly, lest she complicate matters further.

"Did you hear that?" Tang Zheng noticed the camera in Christina’s hand and guessed her identity, "Are you a reporter?"

"What, are you scared?" Christina raised her head proudly, then gave Pike a glance and sternly scolded Tang Zheng, "He is lying, and you are using violence to subdue him. You are a police officer, and it’s wrong to do this."

"I don’t need a political lesson." Tang Zheng suddenly reached out and snatched away the camera.

"Give it back." The blonde beauty panicked, stepped forward to grab it, but Tang Zheng extended his armature, just right at her chest, soft and resilient.

However, Christina didn’t notice, anxious about the camera, fearing Tang Zheng would damage it. Her actions only prolonged the physical contact between them.

"Pike, Old Joseph is right inside the Chinese restaurant. Beat him up, and today’s incident will be forgotten, or else I’ll take you all to the Police Station." Tang Zheng fiddled with the camera for a bit, found out how to use it, and deleted the photos of him abusing Pike.

"You scoundrel, don’t randomly delete my photos," Christina was anxious, biting hard on Tang Zheng’s hand.

To facilitate ease, Tang Zheng’s armature was retracted, hence he felt the bite fully, wincing in pain; he flung his hand violently, sending the blonde beauty tumbling to the ground.

Christina’s dress instantly got soaked and clung to her body.

"Lady, please leave, or I will charge you with obstruction of official business," Tang Zheng spoke officiously, tossing the camera back to her, then looked at Pike, "What’s your decision now?"

"Officer, just let me go; Joseph has evidence of my crimes, and if I beat him up, I’ll be locked up." Pike pleaded almost hopelessly, having no idea what to do against such an uncompromising opponent.

Joseph, worried that Pike might rat him out, didn’t care about his meal and hurried out, trying to defuse the situation.

"Leon, what’s wrong?" Joseph glanced at the bloodstains on the police car and frowned, then turned to those injuries, reproaching Tang Zheng, "What kind of job are you doing? If you’re bringing them back to the police station, are you paying for their medical expenses?"

Tang Zheng noticed his black leather shoes were dirty and stretched them out in front of Pike.

Pike, very observant, immediately pulled out a paper towel to wipe Tang Zheng’s shoes, occasionally looking up with a few smiles.

"You scoundrel," Christina cursed, standing up in a disheveled state, "I’m going to report you and kick you out of the police system."

"Joseph, see, even the passers-by can see your true nature," said Tang Zheng, tapping Joseph’s shoulder with a police baton, completely ignoring his roaring.

"No, I’m talking about you," Christina was getting panicked.

"Get lost, or I might arrest you for obstructing official duty," Joseph cursed, venting all his anger on her, "Report me? Do you have any witnesses? Watch out, I’ll sue you for defamation!"

"Isn’t this a witness?" The blonde beauty was naïve and failed to grasp the situation.

"Miss, we fell on our own," Pike hurriedly ’clarified,’ leaving Christina speechless with a single sentence.

"Heard that? Now get lost," Joseph finished cursing, then directed his wrath at Pike, "And you guys, get out, all of you."

"Old Joseph, I think we need to have a talk," Tang Zheng suddenly thrust the police baton out, pressing it against Joseph’s neck and pushing him against the car roof.

Joseph’s throat bone hurt terribly, instantly giving him a sensation of suffocation as he slapped Tang Zheng’s hands, trying to make him let go.

Tang Zheng’s expression was as cold as a block of ice, unwavering, his gaze not even falling on Joseph’s face, red from the lack of oxygen, but rather looking at an old man not far away.

The guy was dressed in an old black suit, standing in front of a sewer entrance, where he had been for a full ten minutes.

Pike was genuinely scared, and even the hooligans didn’t dare to take a breath. That heavy-handed police officer was indeed trying to kill Joseph.

"Let go, he’s going to die," Christina rushed over, tugging at Tang Zheng’s arm.

Tang Zheng let go of Joseph, who thudded to the ground on his knees, supporting himself on the surface, gasping for air. That moment had given him a real sense of death.

"I hate scum, especially the likes of you," Tang Zheng kicked out, planting his foot on Joseph’s shoulder, knocking him over, "I don’t want to see you in the police station for a while, you know what to do, right?"

"Yes, I’ll take sick leave," Joseph was genuinely scared and began to compromise.

"No, what if someone comes to visit you?" Tang Zheng objected.

"What are you planning to do?" Joseph had a bad feeling.

"Really get sick, well, getting injured works too," Tang Zheng suddenly grabbed Joseph’s hair, ready to smash his head into the car. He had a lot of private affairs, couldn’t always have this guy following him around.

"No, I’ll do it myself," Joseph wasn’t stupid.

"Smart choice, do it yourself then," Tang Zheng let him go and once again looked over at the old man, who was walking over.

Joseph, finally resolving himself, began to bang his head against the car, trying to create an injury.

"Young man, are you planning to fight violence with violence?" The old man had wise-looking eyes, staring intently at Tang Zheng, as if trying to see through him.

"I just want to make the city’s name resonate with reality," Tang Zheng was acting; he just didn’t want to bully ordinary citizens.

"Bold. I’m looking forward to your results," the old man looked at the reporter, "Miss, some things are not what they seem to be."

"Waiter, where’s my dinner?" Tang Zheng saw the waiter holding packaged food at the restaurant entrance, undecided about whether to come over.

"Officer, your dinner is 32 dollars in total."

"Keep the change," Tang Zheng handed over forty US dollars, looked at Joseph frowningly, "How long are you going to keep banging your head?"

Without waiting for the old man to reply, Tang Zheng grabbed his head and smashed it hard against the car. Joseph’s forehead immediately started bleeding profusely; he sat down on the road surface.

"Walk back yourself!" Tang Zheng dropped a remark, got in the car, started it, and then drove into the rain curtain.

The blonde beauty watched the patrol car drive away, deep in thought; the old man’s words made her doubt what she had seen for the first time.

Tang Zheng drove toward the Dali Hua Hotel. It was the third day of the game, and the punishment squad would descend, but he had to stop when passing a street corner, for he had seen some Italians.
