Chapter 1045: Chapter 24: Killing Up to the Door

Having reached the fifth floor, standing in front of Room 506, Tang Zheng and his group didn’t knock on the door because a woman’s shrill moans of ecstasy were transmitting through the rusted anti-theft door.

"Starting work in broad daylight, how very dedicated," Teng Yuangxiang mocked Anna, looking down on those ***** from the bottom of her heart. "Shut up," Pang Meiqin glared at Teng Little Three, thinking to herself what right do you have to judge others? These women have a miserable enough life. If you don’t feel for them, at least don’t make such callous remarks.

After all, Anna still had a sense of shame, her face turning red, but she couldn’t find any words to retort, eventually letting out a sorrowful sigh.

"No rush, let’s wait a bit, don’t want to get in the way of your friend making money," Tang Zheng patted Anna on the shoulder, "In two more days, you’ll be able to leave, and by then I’ll give you a generous salary."

Listening to Tang Zheng’s gentle voice and thinking about how he helped that stranger last night, Anna suddenly felt a strong sense of security being around him, although she was sure he wouldn’t be interested in her.

Since Tang Zheng had spoken, naturally, no one dared to object, so they waited in the corridor. A few seconds later, the cries from the room suddenly stopped, turning into curses and wretched screams.

"What’s going on?" Dantai was startled and rushed to the door, kicking it open. The fragile anti-theft door couldn’t withstand the powerful kick and, with the door hinges breaking, crashed to the ground with a clang.

Anna knew what was happening and wanted to stop it, but it was a little too late.

"What are you dawdling here for?" Tang Zheng pushed past Dantai, stepping over the anti-theft door and entering, only to see a man and a woman enacting a scene not suitable for children in the living room.

The client was a frail man, probably in his thirties, with sunken cheeks and a sallow complexion, complete with dark circles and a thoroughly exhausted look.

The anti-theft door being smashed scared the prostitute into screaming, while the client instinctively covered his head, attempting to reach for his clothes on the Sofa, but in vain since he was handcuffed and couldn’t reach them.

"I’m giving you one minute to get dressed, or deal with the consequences," Dantai said, displeased, as this had been quite an embarrassment.

"Who are you guys? Do you know who my boyfriend is? Crooked-mouth John from the Tuna, if you don’t want to die, pay up quick, my anti-theft door is worth thousands of US dollars," the prostitute Milly, relying on John’s name, had it pretty good around this area, so she was somewhat brazen, attempting to extort Dantai.

"Milly, it’s me," Anna, worried her friend might antagonize these people, quickly tried to calm her, aware that they were the type who dared to even kill Demons.

"Why are you hanging out with these Yellow Skin?" Milly was puzzled, her gaze shifted over Tang Zheng and Dantai and then she smiled, "Don’t tell me you’re smitten with these two handsome guys? How about this, both of you give me a thousand US dollars, and I can pretend this break-in never happened."

The group exchanged looks, this woman was really opening her mouth wide for money, simply unbearable.

"Go to hell!" Teng Yuangxiang had been wanting to hit this woman and charged at her, grabbing her hair and slapped across her Cheek.

Milly’s long hair flew about as she was slapped, a swelling set of five finger marks promptly appearing on her Cheek.

"Please, stop hitting," Anna pleaded on behalf of her friend.

"Forget it, let her go," Dantai intervened, no longer insisting on her getting dressed, "You, what’s this about Crooked-mouth John, do you know where to buy armaments?"

"I know, I know, get this woman off me first, or you won’t get anything," Milly was no fool, she understood threatening them was futile, better to stabilize these people first. Besides, John’s Gangs did deal in arms trafficking. If she could act as a middleman, she could earn a commission -- of course, taking the opportunity to fleece them.

Teng Yuangxiang understood the stakes and released Milly.

"A thousand dollars, give me the money first, then I’ll talk," prostitute Milly, feeling no shame, strutted cat-like towards Tang Zheng, staring directly at him, "You’re the Boss, aren’t you? You wouldn’t be lacking the guts for this, would you?"

"Give her the money!" Tang Zheng frowned, taking a step back, the mixture of sweat and perfume emanating from the woman was overpowering and made him uncomfortable, "Dantai, I’m leaving this to you. I’ll wait outside."

Lin Fachan and An Fei stood by the door, making way, and Tang Zheng noticed that these two men were very self-controlled. Faced with the scene, they didn’t linger their gaze but instead dutifully guarded each side of the corridor.

"Mr. Tang!" Aihara Chiharu was talking to Sekiya Ganta, but upon seeing Tang Zheng, she immediately grew tense and a blush crept over her Cheeks.

"Just call me Tang Zheng," Tang Zheng took out several bags of snacks and handed them to Aihara, "They aren’t Japanese style Food, are you accustomed to eating them?"

"Thank you, it’s fine," Aihara Chiharu bowed slightly, very politely, her heart felt a slight sweetness from Tang Zheng’s care, "He’s so gentle."

"That’s good, if you’re not feeling well, speak up early, don’t suffer in silence," Tang Zheng’s smile was like a breath of spring air; he never skimped on showing a little care to others, perpetually reinforcing his nice-guy image.

Aihara Chiharu, very reserved, bowed again.

"Your family is from Osaka? I’ve been there, you know—the scenery at Shitennoji Temple is pretty nice. Oh, and the crab hotpot is delicious." Listening to Aihara Chiharu’s Osakan dialect, Tang Zheng could pretty much guess her hometown, so he picked some characteristics of Osaka to narrow the distance between them.

"Eh? How do you know my family is in Osaka? What did Tang go to Japan for? Was it for travel or work?" Aihara Chiharu was indeed interested, her eyes wide with anticipation as she asked.

"Work!" Tang Zheng thought to himself that he had gone to Japan twice and had even taken out several Daimyos of the Demonic Shadow.

"If Tang has the chance to visit Japan again, please make sure to come to my house as a guest," Aihara Chiharu hesitated briefly but still mustered the courage to invite Tang Zheng.

"Sure!" Watching the girl bowing, Tang Zheng felt uncomfortable because the chances of her making it back alive were really slim.

It took three minutes for Dantai and Milly to finalize the deal.

"Let’s go, I’ll take you to meet John, but you’d better have your payment ready. If it’s even a penny short, I guarantee something bad will happen." For the sake of his commission, ** hurriedly changed into clean clothes, impatient to take everyone to meet the contact, completely forgetting there was still a client roasting on the Sofa.

At least the man still had some shame, covering his face with his hands until the room was empty, then finally letting out a deep breath.

He was an unsuccessful white-collar worker, toiling at his job without much to show for it, returning home only to be scolded by his wife. Over time, he developed the habit that this was the only way to vent his frustrations.

Crooked-mouth John was one of the five leaders of South City’s largest gang, Tuna. Because he received a favor from Milly before he made his fortune, he took extra care of her business; however, their relationship was just that—otherwise, he would have already taken Milly as his mistress and she wouldn’t still be earning her keep through such a hard life.

Tang Zheng and Dantai saw right through this, so when the group arrived in front of an apartment and were told to wait for half an hour, they were not surprised.

"Aren’t you John’s lover? Is this the extent of your influence?" Teng Yuangxiang never missed an opportunity to ridicule Milly, "The three thousand US dollars we just paid you was clearly a mistake."

"Anna, you tell them what my relationship with John is!" Milly’s face flushed red and, after biting her lip, she once again went up the steps and knocked on the door.

"Didn’t I tell you to wait?" a gang member in a black tank top opened the door, his face full of displeasure, "Looking for a beating?"

"You tell John they’re here to buy arms, and they’ve got plenty of money." Milly touched the tank top man’s chest muscle and smiled, "I’m Milly. Be careful or John might take it out on you for leaving me out in the cold."

"Slutty Milly, of course I know you," the tank top man quipped, laughing twice before glaring and cursing, "Get lost and wait."

Milly’s face turned blue with anger, choking on the resentment. She wanted to scream, but feared the increasingly indifferent John might take the opportunity to sever ties with her.

"I said get lost, didn’t you hear?" the tank top man roared, swinging his hand ready to slap Milly.

Milly screamed, about to protect her head when she saw a powerful arm stretch out beside her, grabbing the tank top man’s wrist. Then there was a snap, as the wrist was broken.

"If you can’t speak properly, then you don’t need to talk ever again!" Tang Zheng let go of the crushed arm, seized the tank top man’s Cheek, and crushed his entire jaw.

The tank top man’s face was filled with rage, struggling and reaching for his Gun with the other hand.

Tang Zheng’s fingers dug into the tank top man’s flesh, dragging him out of the living room with such force that the wooden Main Entrance was splintered, sharp wood chips piercing his skin, causing him to scream in agony from his throat.

Dantai, following behind, swung a kick right into his nose, collapsing it, and Blood gushed out like a fountain. This unlucky soul lost consciousness, and even if his injuries healed, he’d spend his life as an idiot.

Pang Meiqin picked up his Handgun and tossed it to Lin Fachan, a man who took good care of his girlfriend and had a decent heart, worthy of a helping hand.

"Have you gone mad? Killing on Tuna’s turf?" Milly, although feeling avenged at seeing the tank top man’s misfortune, was also aware of the gravity of their location, "We need to go, now. Getting caught means certain death."

"We can’t leave now."

Before Dantai could finish speaking, several men in Suits had already charged in front of them, pointing AK47s at them.
