Chapter 1026: Chapter 9 Beating Someone Up
Standing by the poolside was a wealthy woman whose commanding and condescending attitude was unmistakable. She was wrapped in a bath towel and wore a blue floral swimsuit underneath. Unfortunately, despite her meticulously maintained skin, the fat on her thighs was still quite noticeable and detracted from her appearance.
"Sorry!" Tang Zheng had no intention of arguing with them and rose to leave like a gentleman, but unfortunately, someone didn’t want to let him have his way.
"Is that you? Do you remember me?" Song Tong exclaimed with surprise, not expecting to encounter him here.
The five women had been covertly sizing up Tang Zheng, but upon hearing this, their gazes became open and unabashed.
"Sorry, I don’t recall," Tang Zheng didn’t even turn his head. He had recognized Song Tong, a wealthy lady who was his junior high classmate, but he simply didn’t want any trouble or connection with her.
Song Tong became anxious and reached out to grab Tang Zheng, but unfortunately, her friend was quicker.
"Hey, don’t go, how can you be so rude?" Another woman with double eyelids, probably in her late thirties, was displeased and grabbed Tang Zheng’s arm.
Startled by the sudden touch, Tang Zheng instinctively jerked his arm away. The double-eyelid woman deliberately let out a cry, pretending to sprain her ankle and fell toward him.
Tang Zheng, still feeling embarrassed, didn’t dodge, so the double-eyelid woman ended up embracing him fully.
"Hmph." Seeing her friend get ahead, Song Tong muttered to herself, but she thought her friend was more beautiful and might be able to keep Tang Zheng there.
Tang Zheng steadied the double-eyelid woman by her shoulders and pushed her away, then took a step back with an icy expression and turned to leave.
"What kind of person is he to be so arrogant?" the double-eyelid woman watched Tang Zheng’s retreating figure with disdain.
"Just a university dropout, a few days ago I saw him shopping with a married woman. He’s just a kept man," Song Tong, furious at not getting Tang Zheng’s attention, deliberately smeared him. Of course, she also implied for her friend to take action; if she succeeded, Song Tong could get a share of the spoils.
"Pfft, then let’s use money to knock him down!" the double-eyelid woman took a few steps and then looked back at her four friends, "Let’s do it together."
"Tch." The first woman to speak rolled her eyes at her and moved to approach Tang Zheng.
"Heh, buddy, you don’t mind if I sit beside you, do you?" Zhang Heng had been looking for Tang Zheng and, seeing him alone, immediately came over with three friends. Without waiting for Tang Zheng’s permission, he plunked down on a lounge chair nearby and struck up a conversation, "Why sit here alone? That’s a pure waste of time."
Tang Zheng ignored the man with a face full of flesh; his intentions were all too clear.
"God tells us that wasting time is a sin, look at all these beauties waiting for us, and yet you sit here daydreaming, tut-tut, don’t tell me you don’t know how to have fun?" Zhang Heng said greedily, eyeing the women with a lascivious grin, "No worries, I’ll teach you. You’ll have such a good time you won’t want to leave!"
The other three men chuckled lewdly in agreement.
"Zhang, that is some wisdom!" said a thirty-year-old man named Hu Shang. Strong and tall, he had once been a special forces soldier but left the service because he found it hard and tiring. He set up his own security company, and by being unscrupulously tough, he had done quite well and built a small fortune. Inviting Zhang Heng was a ploy to secure a business deal, so he flattered him accordingly.
Zhang Heng was a crude man, incapable of pretending to be refined. He thought talking about women was a surefire way to make conversation; unfortunately, he had run into Tang Zheng.
"Get lost!" These men clearly had a gangster air about them and didn’t seem like good news; Tang Zheng couldn’t be bothered to chat and simply spit out a word.
Zhang Heng’s grin froze, all his follow-up words got choked back, and the other three men’s faces also darkened with anger. This guy was seriously disrespecting them.
As Song Tong and the four women approached, they heard this low shout, and their complexion turned unnatural as well.
"Some duck acting all arrogant?" the woman with thicker thighs and a fiery temper cursed immediately.
"Brother, you’re not talking about me, are you?" Zhang Heng chuckled twice, glancing at the double-eyelid woman who was obviously somewhat overweight, yet seemed to consider herself quite attractive.
"Get lost, and don’t make me say it a third time!" Tang Zheng said curtly, his masculine voice piercing through the air, seemingly scattering even the moisture around them.
The double-eyelid woman who had been about to curse swallowed her words, her gaze fixed on Tang Zheng’s unfazed demeanor and Zhang Heng’s twitching, agitated fatty face, sensing the young man’s overwhelming aura.
"You little brat, what did you say?" Zhang Heng hadn’t erupted yet when a man beside him cursed, stepping forward and about to take action. Hu Shang was even quicker, wanting to impress Zhang Heng and gain a favor. As for accidentally hurting someone? He had heard the double-eyelid woman’s remarks: just a duck, a few hundred bucks in medical fees would cover it. If the guy dared to push further, he’d simply break his arms and legs.
Watching as the towering Hu Shang swung the red wine bottle in his hand, unleashing a shrieking wind as it smashed toward Tang Zheng’s head, all the women screamed in terror. If it hit its target, even if it didn’t turn him into an idiot, a severe concussion was guaranteed.
Lying on the lounge chair, Tang Zheng flexed his waist and, like a carp leaping from the water, sprang up; his left hand swung out, landing a punch squarely on the bottle.
With a loud crash, the bottle shattered, the liquid mixing with glass slag—most of which splattered on Hu Shang.
The women instinctively retreated, then they saw Tang Zheng leap up like a cheetah. His arm extended, his clenched fist pierced through the dispersing red mist of wine, carrying some glass slag with it, and hammered into Hu Shang’s cheek.
Instantly, Hu Shang twisted as if struck by a speeding racing car—his head turning ninety degrees—then, while he was still spinning through the air, before he could be flung away, the young man’s left foot delivered a brutal axe-kick to his chest.
The clear sound of ribs breaking reached their ears as Hu Shang, quite sadly, skimmed across the surface of the hot spring, sprawling onto the pebbles and tumbling out without anything to break his fall, leaving behind a mottled trail of blood; he lay unconscious within moments.
Nearby customers in the Central Hall were all stunned, and some of the more faint-hearted women screamed, their faces going pale.
Hu Shang’s two companions were rooted to the spot, their instincts telling them to stop, to dodge, or at the very least to make a phone call for help, but it was already too late.
Tang Zheng swung his arm in one swift motion, hitting one man’s cheek and knocking him out. Then, raising his leg high, he delivered a kick to another’s stomach, who fell into the hot spring with a splash, writhing in pain and nearly drowning after swallowing a few mouthfuls of water.
Tang Zheng turned towards Zhang Heng, casually wiping the glass slag from his fist; the onlookers shivered at the gesture, watching in pain.
"Wait, I’ll leave!" Zhang Heng didn’t want to get hit; his eyes twitched, aware that he had messed with a tough guy—someone who didn’t hesitate to land heavy blows, which he truly had no desire to provoke. However, before he could take a step back, Tang Zheng grabbed his hair and yanked him violently towards the ground.
"I hate to repeat myself three times," Tang Zheng’s knee shot up, hitting the flesh-covered face squarely.
Thump, Zhang Heng collapsed onto the ground, coughing, spitting out blood foam that contained three broken teeth. His nose was also broken, bleeding profusely, forming a small puddle.
To teach him a lesson, Tang Zheng had held back just enough; otherwise, if he had knocked him out too quickly, Zhang Heng wouldn’t feel the pain, and that wouldn’t be any fun.
The entire hot spring fell silent, everyone petrified by Tang Zheng’s ferocity as all eyes focused on him.
Tang Zheng took out two paper towels from his pocket, wiping the blood from the back of his hand, then turned to look at the single-eyelid woman.
"Do you have anything else?"
"No!" The five women shook their heads like rattle drums, ridiculing themselves for thinking the guy was a duck—if they still believed that, they’d be no smarter than a donkey-kicked head.
"Then why don’t you leave?" Tang Zheng folded the used paper towels, placed them on the table, and then lay back on the lounge chair to continue resting.
"You better leave quickly. You might get away with hitting Zhang Heng, but you can’t afford to mess with the owner here," Song Tong kindly warned.
"It’s too late, security is here," the single-eyelid woman tugged at Song Tong, signaling everyone to scram.
Over thirty muscular men dressed in black uniforms and carrying batons charged over, each of them exuding vigor, clearly all retired soldiers.
The single-eyelid woman had seen troublemakers here before; one guy seemed to have a lot of pull at home, but before he could finish his bluster, the bodyguards had beaten him half to death and afterward, he didn’t even dare to let out a peep. So she thought Tang Zheng was done for too, but what unfolded next completely surprised her.
"It’s our fault for not providing adequate service. Are you alright?" The security leader stood beside Tang Zheng, asking respectfully, while his men set about dealing with those four unfortunate souls.
"This guy caused all the trouble!" Zhang Heng, seeing a familiar face in security, thought his savior had arrived. He withstood the pain and bellowed, hoping the guard would avenge him; just as he finished shouting, he saw the guard he had dined with treating Tang Zheng with the utmost respect.
The security leader turned his head, gave Zhang Heng a glare, and his men understood immediately; one of them swung his baton at Zhang Heng’s neck, knocking him out cold, and then dragged him away like a dead dog.
