Chapter 1018: Chapter 2: Entwined

Having seen An Xiu Ru’s several luxury cars in the underground parking garage, worth over a hundred million RMB in total, Liu Man felt a strong desire to possess them after her envy and jealousy of her best friend, especially upon hearing that those cars all belonged to Tang Zheng, carelessly tossed into the garage by him, she began to have her little schemes.

Tang Zheng was not a stingy person, which could be seen from the conversation with her best friend and Tang Zheng’s style of doing things; he had asked for his car back obviously because of other reasons.

"No way, I absolutely refuse to return it!" Liu Man thought of the glory she had enjoyed in the past month. In such a third-tier city, where no more than two handfuls of people could afford such a luxury ride, she naturally became the legitimate center of attention at gatherings with wealthy women. Reveling in their envious looks made her ecstatic, and she could imagine how those women would mock her mercilessly once the Maybach 62 was gone.

"I’m sorry, I’ll be more careful from now on." Clearly, Tang Zheng wasn’t the type to be easily fooled, so Liu Man didn’t try to talk her way out and instead offered a sincere apology, quickly changing the subject, "Let’s get in the car to talk, it’s too cold."

Liu Man crossed her arms over her chest, intentionally pushing up her chest, and then stamped her feet, aiming to draw Tang Zheng’s attention to her body.

Li Huiwen felt a bit disgusted and then thought that life wouldn’t be easy in the future since she had witnessed the desperate way Liu Man offered herself up. However, the young man’s self-control was truly commendable; he completely ignored Liu Man.

"But to be considered in such a way by Liu Man obviously means he’s no small fish. Hmm, seems like he’s got big money too." Li Huiwen had her little schemes too. She wasn’t one to keep herself clean and self-love, and upon seeing a big piece of cake right before her, she couldn’t help but want to take a bite to satisfy herself.

"Yes, it is cold, let’s get in the car and talk." Li Huiwen put on her sweetest smile, showing eight teeth, opened the car door, and grabbed Tang Zheng’s arm, inviting him inside.

"By the way, what’s the deal with you and Xiu Ru? Should I give her a call?" Liu Man changed the subject. From her best friend’s information, she knew Tang Zheng had disappeared again, and they hadn’t seen each other in a long time; maybe she could use the situation to keep the car for now.

Unconsciously, Liu Man felt the Maybach 62 was her personal possession, and giving it back would be harder than killing her.

"Alright!" Tang Zheng hadn’t decided how to face An Xiu Ru yet, so he didn’t want to contact her. Hearing Liu Man’s suggestion, he could only compromise.

"These two definitely have some issues; this is clearly a breakthrough point." For the sake of the luxury car, Liu Man racked her brains, thinking of various strategies.

Li Huiwen also got into the carriage, and after sitting down, their thighs were pressed tightly together; she did it on purpose.

Tang Zheng frowned and shifted slightly to the side.

Li Huiwen pretended to notice nothing, but inwardly she was fuming. This man was impervious to flirtation; if it had been any other man, he would have already been sneakily touching her.

Seeing Li Huiwen, who was oblivious to the situation like a third wheel, Liu Man curled her lips disdainfully, wishing she could slap her twice.

"Mr. Tang, considering your youth and success, what kind of business do you do?" Li Huiwen knew she didn’t have much time and wanted at least to get Tang Zheng’s contact information.

"A student, also go to the nearest hotel." Tang Zheng really wasn’t in the mood to deal with these two women. As for the matter of the car, he’d leave it to Lu Fan to handle.

"Mr. Tang, aren’t you being too impatient? Can you handle the two of us women?" Li Huiwen teased Tang Zheng, her tone becoming more flirtatious.

"Why waste the money on that? Don’t you have a place to stay? Come to my place, the guest room is empty." Liu Man invited Tang Zheng, at the same time increasing the car’s speed a great deal, wanting to get rid of the woman as quickly as possible.

Tang Zheng had not yet responded when his mobile phone rang.

"Where are you? I want to see you!" Pang Meiqin’s voice clearly came through the receiver, "I’m bored all alone."

"Have you been drinking?" Tang Zheng wasn’t a psychologist; how could he guess what Pang Meiqin intended. All he wanted to do was sleep and think of nothing else.

"Yeah, a little." Pang Meiqin was silent. She wanted to change the image she had in Tang Zheng’s mind but didn’t know how to start talking.

Silence fell between them, and then the beautiful leg stewardess hung up the phone.

"This is so absurd, could she be on her period?" Tang Zheng was puzzled.

"What’s your phone number? You’re not going to keep it a secret, are you?" Li Huiwen took out her mobile phone, asking for his number.

"It needs to stay a secret." Tang Zheng smiled as he refused, and then no matter how Li Huiwen tried to pry, she couldn’t extract the slightest bit of information from him.

"Damn it, a man with no sense of romance." Watching the car drive away, Li Huiwen, standing in the night wind, was so angry she almost ground her teeth to bits, "I hope you both die suddenly in bed."

After cursing a few times, Li Huiwen walked toward the residential area. Ten minutes later, she opened the door to her house and frowned at the pair of leather shoes on the shoe rack. Her husband, who disappeared for a while every fifteen days, had come back tonight.

"Depressed, I have to share a bed with that useless guy again," Li Huiwen pouted, the mere thought of the obstinate Tang Zheng nearly made her smash her LV handbag on the floor in anger—but she held herself back.

Tang Zheng was very tired, and the comfortable driving environment made him fall asleep; he didn’t wake up until Liu Man shook him, realizing then that they were already in the garage.

"We’re home. You look exhausted. Take a bath and rest up early," Liu Man put on a caring expression, her comforting words stifling any complaints Tang Zheng might have had.

"Alright, then I’ll trouble you," Tang Zheng didn’t feel like taking another trip to find a hotel and followed Liu Man into the living room.

"Make yourself comfortable, I’ll draw a bath for you!" Liu Man eagerly acted like a doting wife. She bent down to fetch slippers for Tang Zheng, poured water, and then went into the bathroom.

Reclining on the sofa, Tang Zheng let out a long sigh. There were only women’s shoes on the shoe rack, indicating Liu Man lived alone—he felt relieved.

"It’s ready!" Liu Man appeared already stripped of her clothes, her bare feet on the floor, wrapped in only a bath towel, her shoulders exposed as well.

"Thank you," Tang Zheng glanced over, then no longer paid attention and walked straight into the bathroom, locking it behind him.

Liu Man, caught out in the cold, didn’t know what to do for a moment. She thought if she used a key to open the door, she would certainly be thrown out. But the thought of the Maybach 62 slipping away made her determined.

Hearing the door handle turn, Tang Zheng reached for a bath towel, but there was nothing.

"I forgot to bring you a bath towel." Liu Man had intentionally left this excuse.

Watching the hot water spray from the shower head onto Tang Zheng, coalescing into droplets that slid down his taut, elastic skin, Liu Man was momentarily mesmerized. She thought Tang Zheng’s body was like a marble sculpture, full of strength and beauty.

"You can go out now," Tang Zheng quickly snatched the bath towel from Liu Man’s hand and wrapped it around his waist.

"Do you want me to scrub your back?" Liu Man changed the subject, then slipped and fell towards Tang Zheng.

Tang Zheng reached out to steady Liu Man’s arm, but against a woman iron-hearted on falling, the gesture was in vain.

"Goodbye!"

Tang Zheng, who had guessed Liu Man’s intentions, didn’t hesitate to push her away and left the bathroom.

"You’re such an idiot. What kind of man would be so foolish to pass up an opportunity like this?" Liu Man was stunned; some men really didn’t take the bait even when it was offered on a platter.

Tang Zheng, dressed and with wet hair, wondered where to spend the night when his mobile phone rang.

"Why aren’t you asleep yet?" Since Pang Meiqin felt something was off in Tang Zheng’s gaze, Li Xinlan was somewhat concerned and impulsively called him, intending to hang up immediately, but Tang Zheng answered.

"I’m homeless," Tang Zheng said with a wry smile, "I’ve found that I don’t even have a place to stay."

"Why don’t you come to my place!" The moment the words left the married woman’s lips, she wished she could bite her tongue for adding to the chaos.

"Okay, where’s the address?" Tang Zheng also felt lonely. Having someone’s company was more than welcome. So he ran out, and in a stroke of luck caught a taxi that took him to the residential area where Li Xinlan lived.

The thoughtful married woman worried that Tang Zheng would waste time finding the way, so she came down personally to pick him up.

"Xin Lan!" Seeing the figure standing in the night wind, eagerly waiting, Tang Zheng was moved and called out to her loudly.

"What happened to you?" Li Xinlan was taken aback by Tang Zheng’s disheveled appearance, gripped his arm, and examined him, "You’re not hurt though!"

Tang Zheng hugged Li Xinlan then kissed her on the lips.

The married woman struggled symbolically for a moment before giving in and wrapped her arms around his waist. After all, she was also filled with love for Tang Zheng in her heart.

"Let’s go to your place!"

Hearing Tang Zheng’s words, Li Xinlan softly hummed in agreement, then hugged his arm and pressed her body against him. Under the night sky, they looked like a loving couple heading home.
