Tang Zheng and Dantai’s Hellfire cannon muzzles opened and they exchanged fire with the captain, immediately engulfing the entire passage in explosions and flames. Metal fragments flew chaotically, some striking the armor and leaving scratches.

Bai Guo’s thrusters were at full power as she attempted to close in for melee combat, but as soon as she charged within thirty meters of the captain, a curtain of bullets shot towards her, striking the armor with a clanging sound and bursting into dense sparks.

The multi-barreled machine gun continued firing under the control of the weapon system, while the captain himself extended his arms backward, pulled down two mechanical components from behind, and with a forceful clap, combined them into a three-meter-long heavy firearm aimed at Bai Guo and pulled the trigger.

Hiss, a red and white searing particle beam sprayed out from the fifty-millimeter caliber barrel, and due to the high temperature, the surrounding alloy walls began to show signs of melting.

"Dodge it quickly," Qin Yan yelled, clearly understanding that Hellfire couldn’t withstand such bombardment.

Bai Guo activated the Light Defense Shield, but it was shattered in a blink of an eye. Although she tried her best to dodge, her legs still got grazed. She rolled out like she was hit by a speeding train, with her leg armor melting, spitting sparks, and was rendered useless.

This was an individual particle cannon with immense power—just five shots were enough to destroy a warship, qualifying it as an S+ Grade Weapon, though it required a change of energy clips after ten shots and was cumbersome to operate.

If Natural Stupid wasn’t wearing S-class protective clothing and carrying two shields, that hit would have crippled her. However, she successfully blocked the particle beam, otherwise, if it had hit them, the newbies on the bus would have been blasted to nothingness.

The captain aimed at Bai Guo, with the muzzle lighting up with a red-white energy sphere, clearly charging, and fired again in less than a second.

"Don’t let him fire again," Tang Zheng flew out like a meteor, activating all his defenses, positioning himself just in front of the particle beam.

The captain activated a blue Protective Stance; a spherical shield immediately surrounded him. He drew a Chainsaw Long Knife, and with a click, his heavy weaponry detached, leaving only the Power Armor. The captain then charged through the bullet rain with invincible prowess.

Because the Protective Stance was one-way, the captain couldn’t shoot, but his combat skills weren’t limited to this alone.

Tang Zheng drew his Tang Sword and the moment they crossed each other, thrust it cleanly through the armor and into the chest. Unfortunately, the man had been modified by Death Worms to remove nerve endings, so he felt no pain, instead delivering a blow with his chainsaw knife.

The power furnace of the chainsaw knife activated, and with the roar of the motor, the serrated blades spun wildly, emitting a piercing noise, thrusting towards Tang Zheng’s waist.

Red energy coating got the first contact with the armor, instantly disrupting its atomic structure, and astonishingly began to disintegrate the alloy.

Tang Zheng was shocked; a direct hit would have cut him in half. He swung his armature fiercely down on the captain’s head but was also hit in the process, sending both sprawling backward.

"Watch out for his knife," Tang Zheng shouted, knowing well how difficult it was to deal with an opponent who had both offense and defense in one, especially with a chainsaw knife that was an S-grade weapon and far too overpowered with its special effects.

The captain’s chainsaw knife, S-grade, composed of fine single-molecule blades, could disrupt atomic structures and specialize in breaking defenses, slicing through SS-grade shielding as if it were paper.

Dantai and Qin Yan stepped in front of the captain, but he clearly wasn’t planning to engage in melee. He suddenly raised his particle cannon, shooting out a beam of light.

The strong impact sent Dantai flying, and Qin Yan stepped up, moving in for the kill; the Tang Sword and the chainsaw knife collided, the continuously rotating saw blade creating a huge noise, distressing to the senses.

Qin Yan’s close-combat skills were refined, but against the fully armed captain, there was no room to exploit, as he didn’t dodge at all and completely adopted a suicidal tactic of trading blow for blow.

The Tang Sword steadily pierced into the captain’s heart, turning it into a mess of flesh, but the captain’s weakness was in his head. Such a wound, lethal for ordinary people, would not cause his demise. The chainsaw knife forced Qin Yan to retreat and then he drew his Explosive Arrow Handgun, firing a series of scorching explosive arrows.

These arrowheads were filled with chemical potions, igniting into ultra-high-temperature flames upon impact that couldn’t be put out by ordinary means.

Qin Yan dodged, and the bullets left a trail of marks on the wall behind her, with orange-blue flames erupting and melting metal dripping down.

The captain didn’t pursue but continued his charge.

Shen Qingshuang activated her shield, running for her life, as she couldn’t withstand his attacks.

"Not good, his target is the bus," Dantai exclaimed in shock. If the captain got close, all the newbies would be doomed. "Old Soldier, stop him."

"I’ll buy you some time," Xu Biyun unleashed her ability, and a puppet rose from the ground, but before it could attack, it was sliced in half by the captain, collapsing thunderously.

Li Xinlan and Lu Fan stayed atop the Beetle, still behind the bus. Seeing the situation, they built Ice Wall Sand Barriers to stop the captain and buy time.

"Let’s leave it to Uncle and the others," Lu Fan frowned, anxious and restless. Another disadvantage of the team was revealed: the lack of heavy siege-breaking equipment. Tang Zheng and the others’ cold weapons were indeed SS-level, but too short in length. Clashing with the captain’s chainsaw knife, they were at a disadvantage, unable to deliver a sure-kill strike.

Although the height wasn’t great, since she landed face first, her nose still broke on impact.

The newbies screamed in terror, two more blasted apart.

Lin Weiguo’s Hellfire sparked, its defense greatly diminished, but he still fearlessly drew his bloody dagger and lunged out to stop the Captain.

The Captain swung the Chainsaw Knife, slashing at the old soldier while continuing to shoot with the left hand until the thirty-bullet ammo clip was emptied. This time, Li Xinlan’s Ice Wall appeared timely, stopping the bullets, but the newbies still inside the bus weren’t so lucky.

The Captain, brandishing the Chainsaw Knife with sweeping blows, resembled a deity of slaughter.

"Run fast." Lin Weiguo knew his defense couldn’t withstand direct hits, dodged a few times, but ultimately got kicked out of the carriage.

"No!" A newbie hadn’t finished shouting before he got bisected at the waist by the Chainsaw Knife, his blood vaporized by the vibrating monomolecular blade and rising into the air, forming a mist of blood.

The Captain charged and swung the blade, ending another life, with pieces of flesh torn apart by the Chainsaw littering the bus.

"Save me!" A male newbie had just jumped from the bus, his face streaming with tears as he screamed, and then the next second the Chainsaw Knife pierced his abdomen.

The Captain raised his armature, and the unlucky newbie was split in two, collapsing to the ground in an exceedingly bloody scene.

Lu Fan threw out his Wisdom Sword, but to no avail, all blocked by the Captain’s armor. Li Xinlan froze the entire passage, a spread of frost.

As the Captain slashed, shards of ice scattered, thankfully Tang Zheng and Dantai arrived just in time, otherwise, it might have been a total newbie wipeout.

"Aim for its head." Dantai endured an attack and managed to grab the Captain from behind, restricting its movement.

Tang Zheng dodged the Chainsaw Knife and thrust the Snow Replacement Ball into the Captain’s head, its eyes dimmed, the head tilted to one side, its body beginning to twitch.

"Defense, watch out for self-destruct." Tang Zheng withdrew his sword and backpedaled, activating all his shields. The others also deployed their own defenses.

Ice Wall Sand Barriers were also erected, but the self-destruction did not happen. The Captain died and dropped to the ground.

"Damn it, I’m so pissed off. With our strength, we could’ve suppressed it, yet it still killed nearly ten newbies." Dantai rarely burst with rage, gazing at the corpses on the ground, the ruined bus, and a few damaged Power Armors, he kicked the Captain’s head in frustration.
