Chapter 475: Section 262: Flying Head Skill

The powerful stranger who strode upon the river had short, silver-gray hair and a pair of deep blue eyes.

His face was ordinary, his skin a gray hue, adorned with black surgical sutures scattered across it. Cheeks, neck, and even the arms and palms bore stitches, some long, others short.

He wore a grayish-white mage robe with two long sleeves that flared widely at the cuffs, billowing woosh-woosh as he walked steadily forward.

A Holy Domain Level presence radiated all around, no longer concealed.

Cang Xu was shocked. He had been soaked in some waters of the Nether River, falling into a crisis of death once more. And yet, the other had actually stepped onto the river’s surface.

“Holy Domain Level Undead Mage!”

“It is said that Holy Domain Level powerhouses can comprehend laws and form their personal domains, capable of resisting adverse external influences.”

“Who exactly is he?”

The next moment Cang Xu’s question was answered by the Little Prince’s cry.

The Little Prince exclaimed in surprise, “It’s the Corpse Shredder Healer!”

The one approaching was none other than an apprentice personally taught by You Can, who had already become a Holy Domain Level Undead Mage—Corpse Shredder Healer.

Ku Feng was an Undead Life that he had awakened through his own hands.

However, strangely enough, Ku Feng did not show the same excitement as the Little Prince upon seeing the Corpse Shredder Healer; aside from the surprise in his eyes, there seemed to be other emotions present.

In the cabin, Wei Ying’s expression changed drastically, losing the composure she once had: “Have you been buying time all along?”

The ship ghost sneered, “You know I am from the Undead Orthodoxy, a direct descendant of You Can. But it seems you haven’t truly understood the meaning of ‘orthodoxy’ and ‘direct lineage.'”

“Very well, this time you’ve managed to escape, but let’s wait and see what happens next!” Wei Ying said icily before promptly activating the Shadow Walker Holy Emblem.

The next moment, space distorted violently, revealing a half-meter-long crack.

Shadows poured out thickly from the rift.

Wei Ying plunged into the shadows.

The shadows swiftly retracted back into the spatial rift, taking Wei Ying with them, vanishing without a trace.

A second later, the spatial crack was eradicated completely, and normalcy returned to the space.

Corpse Shredder Healer arrived just beneath the Ghost Ship, and with a light leap, he was aboard.

“He sure ran fast.” Corpse Shredder Healer sensed the space fluctuation and the complete disappearance of Wei Ying’s presence.

“Corpse Shredder Healer!” The Little Prince shouted joyously, and though a skull could not convey vivid expressions, his admiration and reverence were more than evident.

As one of the Twelve Saints, Corpse Shredder Healer had just appeared and already scared off the formidable enemy who had nearly captured everyone.

Such grace won over the Little Prince.

Through Corpse Shredder Healer, one could catch a glimpse of Master You Can’s elegance.

Corpse Shredder Healer nodded at the Little Prince, then glanced over Ku Feng and Cang Xu, kneeling halfway, before his gaze settled on the Ghost Ship’s deck.

Then, he began to chant and cast Undead Magic.

The spell caused ripples, its momentum immense.

All the power of the spell was infused into the Ghost Ship.

The Ghost Ship, which had been badly damaged, quickly restored to its original state under the power of the spell.

The holes in the ship were all patched up, no longer leaking water.

Even the river water of the Nether River was drawn out by Corpse Shredder Healer and flowed back into the Nether River.

Corpse Shredder Healer cast three consecutive spells, and Cang Xu, as an onlooker, couldn’t discern any of the specifics behind them.

The ship ghost ceased casting the spell, and his true form appeared on the deck.

His injuries had mostly healed, and he had completely emerged from his near-death state.

The ship ghost bowed deeply to the physician, “Physician, thank you for your assistance this time. Please save us again— the Ghost Ship’s mana pool reserves are depleted, and I cannot replenish enough mana on my own.”

Without sufficient mana pool reserves, the Ghost Ship would be unable to cast the Netherworld traversal spells and depart for the Main Plane.

The final fate that awaited them was still to be lost in the Netherworld, their original consciousness completely obliterated, transformed into oblivious creatures of the Netherworld.

The physician chuckled, “That’s an easy fix.”

He extended his palm to reveal a black stitched line at the center of his hand.

Then, with the index finger of his other hand, he gently sliced the sharp tip across the sewn-up black line.

The line came undone, turning into a wound with grayish-white flesh rapidly peeling back on either side, revealing not bones, but a pitch-black, profound space.

The physician aimed his palm at the deck, channeling his own mana.

In the next moment, a mighty torrent of mana surged out from the wound in his palm, directly into the Ghost Ship.

The flow of mana was so strong it whipped up a great wind, its magnitude astonishing.

“Full, it’s full!” Just seconds later, the ship ghost shouted.

The individual mana reserve of a Holy Domain Level mage was astounding; replenishing a Silver Level magic-powered ship was a mere flick of the wrist for the physician.

The ship ghost expressed his gratitude once more.

The physician nodded slightly, “You’re in luck this time; I’ve been exploring the Netherworld for over three months and was just about to leave when I received your distress signal.”

“Even though I have the spatial coordinates for your Ghost Ship, the ultra-long-distance teleportation spell is not precise.”

“Fortunately, you all haven’t suffered much damage.”

Thanks to the physician’s timely support, the Undead Mage’s side, though defeated, did not suffer significant losses. In contrast, the pirates incurred considerable losses, including the loss of a Gold Level Magic Beast sea snake.

The Little Prince cheered with arms raised, “Physician, if you had come just a little later, we would have truly been doomed.”

Ku Feng offered a salute, “My lord.”

The physician turned to Ku Feng, “It seems you’ve fared well over the years.”

Ku Feng expressed his gratitude, “Thanks to you, sir, for giving me a second life, I can continue to pursue my way of the sword.”

The physician shook his head, “You were a product of a whim, considered a fair creation. It’s a pity… At that time, I lacked some materials, which resulted in your poor aptitude. Otherwise, you might have been a candidate for the Undead Orthodoxy.”

Ku Feng gave a wry smile, “Being able to live again, I’m already content. Pursuing the way of the sword is the meaning of my life. No matter the final result, as long as I walk this path, I live a worthy life.”

Finally getting the chance to speak, Cang Xu cut in, “Excuse me, everyone, can someone give me a hand? I’m about to die again!”

The Little Prince cried out in alarm, pleading with the ship ghost, “Lord ship ghost, please save the rookie, my efforts are not enough.”

Compared to the physician, the Little Prince was closer to the ship ghost and did not dare to ask the Saints for help.

The ship ghost nodded without refusing the request.

Although he had used Cang Xu and the Little Prince as bait during the battle, that was a moment of dire emergency.

Looking out for oneself and abandoning others is human nature.

Now that the situation was under control, the ship ghost was not stingy with his help.

However, just as he was about to cast the spell, the physician interrupted, “Wait a moment.”

The ship ghost stopped in his tracks.

The physician looked at Cang Xu with interest, his gaze focused on the latter’s chest, “Your current state is quite rare and has sparked my inspiration.”

“Let me remodel you.”

The ship ghost looked slightly startled.

After the Little Prince snapped out of his shock, he cheered and congratulated Cang Xu, “Newbie, who would have thought your misfortune would turn into a blessing! To receive the reconstruction from the Corpse Surgeon, you’re going to become stronger!”

Cang Xu also felt a surge of joy, but he quickly noticed that the expressions of the ship ghost and Ku Feng were off.

He hastily inquired, “May I ask, what is the success rate of the reconstruction?”

The Corpse Surgeon shrugged with no sense of responsibility, “I haven’t tried before; this is the first time, how could I possibly be sure?”

The Little Prince was dumbstruck.

The ship ghost and Ku Feng’s faces grew even more bitter.

Cang Xu quickly refused, “Compared to becoming stronger, I would rather play it safe.”

Being cautious by nature, Cang Xu naturally did not wish to take the risk. He avoided the Corpse Surgeon’s gaze and looked towards the ship ghost.

But the ship ghost’s gaze sidestepped.

The Corpse Surgeon shook his head, smiling, “No one is coming to save you, little mage.”

“On your own, you are dead for sure.”

“You have only one path, and that is to obediently cooperate with me and become my experiment.”

Cang Xu felt his heart sink to the depths, his emotions surging with indignation, but they were quickly drowned by his calm.

Cang Xu knew he had no choice.

He nodded faintly, “Then please, Corpse Surgeon, proceed.”

With a gentle lift of his hand, the Corpse Surgeon restrained Cang Xu with spiritual power, levitating him into the air.

The Corpse Surgeon extended his other hand and flexed his fingers.

The spell was cast almost instantly, with no concealment, using the technique of silent casting.

His fingers carried a sharp aura and gently traced along various parts of Cang Xu’s body from a distance.

The next moment, Cang Xu’s limbs were severed, falling to the floor.

Cang Xu was stunned for a moment before opening his mouth and bursting out with a horrendous scream.

It hurt, it hurt so much!

He had never experienced such pain before, more terrifying than a pain that pierces the heart, something he couldn’t suppress and could only vent through screaming in agony.

The Little Prince watched, his eyes wide and a chill in his heart.

He realized that it wasn’t just Cang Xu’s limbs that had been cut off; the corresponding parts of his soul had also been severed and sealed within the severed limbs.

It was the severing of the soul that triggered the unimaginable, excruciating pain.

“It’s a bit noisy,” the Corpse Surgeon said, his expression indifferent, as he made another slight gesture with his fingers.

Cang Xu’s head came off his neck and fell onto the deck, rolling a few times.

The Corpse Surgeon did not bother with Cang Xu’s head but casually cast a spell.

Even though Cang Xu was still screaming miserably, his voice had been silenced and could not carry.

“To remove impurities is to reveal the main material,” the Corpse Surgeon said with a smirk, showing interest as he carefully observed Cang Xu’s body.

Then, he spat out a treasure from a wound between his palms.

This object looked like a toad sculpture the size of a washbasin, radiating a Golden Level aura.

It was a Holy Object of the Voodoo Sect!

The next moment, the Corpse Surgeon cast a spell to crush it into dust.

Without the Holy Object’s dwelling, the hidden immense Divine Power revealed itself.

A huge mass of dark green Divine Power was guided by the Corpse Surgeon’s spirit and poured into Cang Xu’s body.

The sickly green energy inside Cang Xu received a colossal supplement, instantly repelling the negative energy inside his body and causing his torso to inflate.

Cang Xu’s torso swelled bigger and bigger, like a balloon about to burst.

The Corpse Surgeon frowned slightly, “Little mage, your talent is too low.”

The Corpse Surgeon had to invest more, extracting a severed palm from the wound.

This severed palm was clawed, bulging with veins, and quite grotesque, also emitting a Golden Level aura.

The Corpse Surgeon channelled his own mana into the severed palm, which immediately reacted; it blurred on the surface and rapidly melted into asphalt.

He applied the drops of asphalt on Cang Xu’s torso using spirit manipulation.

Then he dropped a drop on each of Cang Xu’s limbs.

The asphalt quickly spread across the surface of the limbs, forming a thick layer that prevented the torso from explosive swelling.

The Corpse Surgeon cast another spell.

A few minutes after the reconstruction continued, Cang Xu’s limbs were manipulated by the spirit and reassembled.

Once connected, the four limbs began to swell rapidly, filled with Voodoo Divine Power.

What floated in midair soon was one large balloon with four smaller balloons attached.

“Now comes the most critical step,” the Corpse Surgeon declared, showing a measure of seriousness for the first time.

He extracted another item from the palm wound.

It was the head of a zombie.

“Release,” the Corpse Surgeon undid the seal on the head, revealing the massive size of the original zombie head, comparable to a carriage.

“This is one of my collections, a Golden Level Voodoo Giant zombie.”

“Killing this thing is easy, but to cut off the head, preserving the soul and Voodoo Divine Power within, is not so simple.”

With a sigh, the Corpse Surgeon positioned the giant zombie’s head onto Cang Xu’s body.

The zombie’s eyes, initially closed, snapped open the moment they connected, filled with murderous intent!

But the Corpse Surgeon simultaneously suppressed it, forcing the giant zombie’s eyes to close again.

The dense green Voodoo Divine Power cycled rapidly between the giant zombie head and Cang Xu’s body.

Cang Xu’s body kept swelling, but this time, influenced by the giant zombie’s head, it no longer took the form of balloons but into a massive body and limbs.

“The great work is complete!” laughed the Corpse Surgeon heartily.

The ship ghost and the others voiced their congratulations.

The Corpse Surgeon glanced at Cang Xu’s head on the deck and flicked his finger lightly.

With the spell cast, Cang Xu’s spirit was soothed, no longer feeling pain, and the damage brought by the waters of the Nether River was completely halted.

Additionally, a piece of knowledge was forcefully infused into Cang Xu by spiritual power.

“This is a minor achievement of my research,”

“Consider it as compensation for taking your body.”

Cang Xu was dizzy and on the verge of fainting, he skimmed through the knowledge the Corpse Surgeon had infused.

“Flying Head Skill…”
