A force pulled her over, and the next moment her lips were sealed.

The familiar scent wafted to her, she closed her eyes in response to him, feeling his hands tighten on her back.

It was a long while before the two of them, panting, let go of each other.

The day he arrived in the disaster area, he saw cattle and sheep running around as soon as he reached his destination. To prevent further losses to the local residents, he ran towards the foot of the mountain alone.

Aftershocks kept occurring, and debris rolled down from the mountain, hitting him without distinction and causing delays. Fortunately, it didn’t rain, and he didn’t encounter any mudslides.

After half a day’s effort, he managed to herd the cattle and sheep together, just in time to find an unaffected cave, into which he drove the animals. Later, due to exhaustion and injuries, he lay down on the ground until now.

He released her, looking at her bruised and swollen lips, he suddenly laughed.

Zhuang Shuqing covered her numb mouth and glared at him angrily, "What are you laughing at?"

His expression suddenly turned serious, and he scolded her sternly, "Don’t ever do anything this risky again."

Her heart jumped several times with his voice, she understood.

She shouldn’t be here in the first place. Gu Chen wouldn’t have sent her voluntarily, so it must have been her request.

But she didn’t dare say it, fearing he would pull her in again.

Seeing him lying on the ground motionless, her brow furrowed deeply, "Are you injured?"

She bent down to check him but he stopped her.

She looked at him puzzled, only to see a flicker of concern in his affectionate eyes.

"Don’t look," he said.

The more he said that, the more Zhuang Shuqing wanted to look. Without another word, she began unbuttoning, moving so quickly that Lu Jinyang didn’t manage to stop her.

"Quick! It’s right here!"

A voice sounded from the darkness of the cave, startling Zhuang Shuqing into springing back, her cheeks slightly reddened in the dark.

She could do this when it was just the two of them, but with others around, she lacked the nerve.

Soon, a group of people arrived in front of them, the light revealing the leader’s face.

"Leng Yixing, don’t you have other tasks?"

"Finished them," Leng Yixing’s gaze never left Lu Jinyang; his expression was both surprised and concerned.

"I knew the disaster that’s been a thousand years in the making definitely wasn’t wrong."
