In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL] -
Chapter 166: Arrival
Chapter 166: Arrival
The arrival of countless meteors made a huge uproar and unprecedented unrest all over the world. Some of the gates even caused some mutation, leading everyone to believe that these were caused by the sudden arrival of these meteors.
At each place where these meteors descended, the governments and guilds already started investigating what these meteors truly were and their connection to the massive gates mutations.
However, after a few days, to all discovered meteors, none of them had yet to make a conclusion. Or perhaps some did, but were only withholding the information.
A meteor also happened to land in one small island country in the east. Like other countries, their government was also fast and arrived at the scene upon hearing of the news.
However, there was a huge difference with the scene they saw at the other meteor landing sites in other countries.
"This... What is this?" The head investigator gazed in awe and tension at the huge dome that was blanketing the scene.
Right. Unlike the other sites, there seemed to be a barrier that was preventing them from entering the area. They were first confused and stumped by this, but they had to take action.
Not long after, the few strongest espers of the country were called in to investigate and remove the barrier.
And after a day...
"Just what the fuck is this shit?" Curses had begun to erupt to the commissioned espers. They had been there for a day, doing whatever they could, even mobilizing artifacts, yet surprisingly no one had succeeded.
The barrier did not even budge in the slightest. And yet some of them were already injured and their artifacts damaged because of the barrier’s counterattack. If not for the government assuring them of enough compensation, they would have already left long ago.
A woman standing in front of the barrier stared at it for a long time. There seemed to be no expression on her face, but her gaze betrayed her emotion. She was shocked. Truly so.
She could not imagine just what or who was capable enough to put this barrier. She had never seen this kind of barrier before. This gave her a kind of curiosity about how powerful the one that caused it was but also terrified of what they would have to face when that happened.
"Guild Leader,"
"Yes?" She did not even look, only staring at the dark barrier as if entranced.
"The guides already arrived... uh, you needed to..."
"Let the others be guided first; I can still handle myself."
"But, Guild Lea—" The words were not finished as the woman suddenly shifted her head to the side and glanced at her guild member.
Her beautiful face and gaze were always enough to captivate the whole world; however, there was a certain coldness in her gaze that gave chills instead of admiration.
The man quickly lowered his gaze and shut his mouth, not daring enough to meet that cold yet captivating gaze.
"I understand, Guild Leader Thalia." The man bowed slightly before asking for permission to leave under the woman, Thalia’s gaze.
Thalia, the same beautiful features as a certain fangirl, returned her gaze to the barrier. Her expression was different, though, completely opposite even.
The crowd outside return to their task, to no avail.
Until...
"It’s moving!"
"Get ready!"
Shouts began to disrupt the peace operation, creating a chaotic atmosphere. Tense expression spread and dominated the whole crowd.
"Prepare to engage."
"The guides, please escort the guides to safety."
"Hello? Yes, the barrier is now making movements!"
One minute it was so loud, and then silence.
A deafening silence had descended as the barrier let out a burst of mana, giving off an unprecedented pressure. It was not that they suddenly went into silence or no one made a move.
No, it was not like that.
It was more like everyone was suddenly nailed down where they were as the pressure swept through everyone, preventing them from making any movements or even sounds.
Sweat formed on Thalia’s face; her pupils were shaking. Her hands were also trembling as he pursed his lips, trying to fight off the pressure.
Streaks of black mana flickered at the black dome surrounding the meteor landing site.
Fire?
Thalia suddenly thought of this but was not given an opportunity as cracks formed at the barrier in no time, and it grew larger just as the tension increased.
She could not help but gulp nervously, forced to wait and watch the impending doom.
The black dome slowly faded, which was even slower than it was for everyone witnessing this torturing experience.
What monster was inside? Was it S-rank? Or... Could it be a... noble?
All kinds of thoughts lingered and washed over everyone before finally the scene inside the black dome was revealed to all of the terrified gazes.
Two figures appeared in their vision; the two stood so close to each other as they faced everyone who was waiting anxiously with their appearance.
Thalia frowned, her brows knitted beautifully as she stared in surprise at the two men. She was expecting a terrifying monster to emerge, but... humans?
Wait, were they?
As she was looking at the two, one of the two suddenly made eye contact with her. Thalia’s heart suddenly pounded for unknown reasons as that playful gaze fell on her, especially as the unfamilair yet somehow familiar smirk that stretch on the silver hair man’s lips.
The man winked at her, which startled her, before he glanced at his companion and said something before the one beside him also shifted his attention to her. Thalia’s heart thumped at the sudden reaction, as though both were talking about her as if... They too were surprised to see her.
The two then began their steps, approaching the crowd, which immediately earned anxious reactions as they aimed their weapons at the two.
"Stop!"
"Stay where you are and let us know who you are!"
Their voices seemed loud, but they could not hide the obvious tremble in between each word.
However, the two did not stop and appeared not interested in them as they approached someone. Everyone looked in front, specifically at a famous guild leader of a major guild, Evergreen Guild, Thalia.
They were confused; the same was true for Thalia.
"Wow." The silver-haired man, Rise, let out an exaggerated exclamation as he stared with surprise at the woman in front of him, not hiding or ashamed by his excessive and uncomfortable gaze.
Whoa, wasn’t this his loyal fan... but she was so different. She looks classy and cold, unlike the Thalia he knew.
